Slade, Kewell, Cooper and Brown must all be in the hunt.
Has Johnson lost his edge since his heart problems?

I doubt Cooper will be looking for alternative employment unless we are well adrift by Christmas and he has completely lost the changing room. Even then, he'll replace those non-fawning players with 17 year old loanees and horses with one foot in the retirement paddock.

This may come as a surprise to other Carlisle fans on here as I've often stuck up for the manager, but I think it's time for us to replace Keith Curle.

I think overall he's done a decent job. He took over an absolute shit tip, cleared out the lazy dead wood and somehow kept us up in his first season. He's improved us year on year and got us into the playoffs last season. But since the start of the year we've gone backwards and I think he's ran out of ideas. Our form in 2017 has been close to relegation form. He's took the club as far as he can and if we want to progress we need to sack him and get someone capable of getting a team promoted.

Yesterday's defeat at Accrington wasn't just a defeat, it was a sense of coming full circle. 3 seasons ago on an Easter Monday at Accrington we put in possibly the worst away performance I've ever seen. That was a turning point for us, Curle turned our fortunes round after that. But standing there yesterday it felt like we were back to square 1.

Thanks Keith, unlike the last 2 managers you can hold your head high, but we need to move forward with someone else in charge.

Quite suprised Caldwell and Brown have made it this long since yesterday's games.

Finding the right manager is so difficult, we've been through plenty in my 35 years of watching Lincoln and only a few of those have been any good.
I've never been sure if that was due to pure recruitment or our lack of cash meaning we just signed rubbish players.
Good ones in my time are Colin Murphy, Keith Alexander and Danny Cowley,John Beck got results but it was awful to watch.
A few others were ok and some of the others were truly awful and never managed again like Sutton!

I'm at the point where I wouldn't be bothered if he left, he's still not managed to sort the defence out and as you say the form in 2017 is terrible. However, will we appoint someone who will improve us? Doubtful, and it'll probably be Edmondson.

I'd like to think that after the Kavanagh balls up they wouldn't make that mistake again by appointing a cheap option from within.

I always get the feeling with these lot that we'd have to be so many points adrift rock bottom before they'd even consider sacking a manager.

Surprised our Derry hasn't been mentioned yet, decent budget(allegedly) and crap football means he should be near the top of this list in my view although it's not entirely his fault, he wasn't the one signing potential like David amoo and ade azeez, but he is the one dishing out crap tactics.

Still we live in hope!

Think Derry is the new Martin Allen. Can come in and stabilise a team and help take them away from relegation but is a bit rubbish after a season

Feel like Derry was potentially a good manager but may have blown his big second chance.

His big problems at Notts were not knowing how to set up a team to attack, being poor in the transfer market and not trusting young players enough. From the outside it looks very similar at Cambridge.

Hmmm........ probably just a rumour, but an interesting combination if it happened.

Speaking of rumours, at the Alex on Saturday I was told a little Vale related rumour. If, or when Brown gets the bullet, a certain manager of a London based side, now a national league side, will be wishing to apply for the vacant position as he wants to come back up this end of the country. It's not as crazy as it sounds, it would keep Joe in the side....

I'm hoping that even Smurf isn't that daft or vindictive :bg:

Can you afford to sack him? Noticed that c*** Carson saying you were over budget the other week then didnt you sign a couple more?

I think that's probably the issue. He's doing a fine job, long may he continue.

Yeah I figured money must be the reason that Caldwell is still in the job, he must be on too much to sack

Thing is, Davies is always looking at moving on up, guess he's just trying to go as high as he can, when things were good with us he lifted his blouse up to Burnley and Wolves, he was so close to getting the Wolves job, what could have been... Anyway, the Davies/Vale rumor was getting punted around at the end of last season, I know hes only been at Orient a few months, but he will believe his own hype and think he has turned them around and will now be thinking of a swift return to the league, and Vale, maybe even Chesterfield will be high on his radar.

We've just made about 800k from the Clucas transfer to Swansea, had an additional payment from Forest for Aryibi and got McGinn (fairly big earner) off the books so I think there will be some cash around..if we lose tonight it will be curtains

Curle absolutely has to go.

I'll wish him well, he saved our arses 3 seasons ago and improved us to mount a promotion push last season, but he's taken us as far as he can. We need to make the change now before we really go backwards and he undos all the good work he did.

Thanks Keith, but off you go.

And now the question that I can't find the answer to after every Vale game. How the hell is Michael Brown still in a job? Surely he has to go now.

I'm wondering now that Lincoln are picking up results how long before a big boy League 1 or struggling Championship club makes a move on him.

It appears Johnson has completely lost the plot, taking a target man off last night and moving a cm up front. That will get us goals.

The vultures are circling - if we don't win soon I can see him going.
