Apparently the courts have approved Albania's request to extradite Becchetti. Reports from Albania suggest he has until 15th December to voluntarily return or he will be forcibly brought to them.

http://www.syri.net/2015/11/03/arrestoh ... -beccheti/

Edit: Charges are

“vjedhjes duke shpërdoruar detyrën”, “krijimi i skemave mashtruese me qëllim përfitimi të paligjshëm të parave” dhe për “pastrim parash”.

Presuming there isn't an Albanian speaker here... According to Google Translate (so not exactly the best) that becomes "theft by misappropriating task "," creation of fraudulent schemes in order to obtain illegal money "and" money laundering ".

Wicked.

Sounds a fairly robust translation. Sounds like a possible fail on the fit and proper person test!

And people wonder why I'm so pessimistic all the time?

Whats the point of it? Its going to go tits up anyway, just in time to watch us lose to Staines on Saturday.

Hendons a shit manager, all the good players we have will go sooner or later and we will be bust sooner or later.

There has never ever been anything good about supporting Leyton Orient, everything just goes wrong all the time.

STATEMENT ON BEHALF OF FRANCESCO BECCHETTI
4 November 2015

“After learning of the existence of an arrest warrant in Albania in mid June this year, Mr Becchetti, a respected and well-regarded European businessman, notified the British authorities of his presence in London. A request was later received by the British authorities from Albania for Mr Becchetti, to be extradited. Thereafter, following a request by the Metropolitan Police, Mr Becchetti made himself available, by appointment, on 26 October and has handed over his travel documents.

“Mr Becchetti strongly denies all the charges against him, which have been brought by the Albanian Government and are demonstrably groundless, improperly motivated and unsupported by any evidence.

“On 7th December a procedural hearing for directions will take place in London, where a time-line will be agreed with the Crown Prosecution Service for the Court to look into the Albanian request. A substantive hearing will not take place until next year.

“Certainly no decision has been made regarding extradition. Mr Becchetti and his lawyers believe his case is extremely robust.

“Because of Mr Becchetti’s ownership of Agonset Shpk, an Albanian company operating the Agon Channel TV station, which advocates freedom of speech and which has broadcast stories that are critical of the Albanian Government, Agonset and the TV station have been attacked by the Government. Mr Becchetti’s companies’ assets have been seized and their bank accounts frozen. These actions forced the TV station to stop broadcasting; and furthermore and for this reason alone, journalists working for Agon TV have been prevented from being paid.

“Indeed, broadcasts by Agon TV in late May 2015, in advance of local elections in Albania, exposed the scandal of the fake Identity Cards and as a consequence, the manipulation of the electoral lists compiled by the Albanian Government, which resulted in a single person being able to vote up to twenty times in the elections. The exposure of this scandal appears to have triggered the Government’s baseless charges, dated 5th June, against Mr Becchetti.

“The Albanian Government’s claims are also a reaction to two significant arbitrations commenced by companies associated with Mr Becchetti against the Government for large amounts of money, and are made to pressurise Mr Becchetti to settle these arbitrations.

“Accordingly, Mr Becchetti sees that the Albanian requests should have no impact on his duties and responsibilities as Chairman of Leyton Orient. On the contrary, Mr Becchetti continues to work very hard to reinvigorate the club, which is one of the oldest football clubs in London."

What's going on again with Orient?

Apparently the players have been summoned to a week together in a hotel between the Hartlepool and York game this week, nobody allowed to see family at home. The club have said that it's a bonding excersize and that the players can come and go as they please so long as they are back in the hotel together each evening.

Something out of nothing or a bit strange? It's the norm in Italy according to SSN.

Nothing's going on, things like these are normal everyday occurrences when your club is owned by an Italian.

I don't think its as bad as everyone is making out, but its certainly not the sort of thing I would do to a group of 18 players in our British culture.

Will make Yorks win Saturday even more amusing.

That hermetically sealed-in Italian training camp arrangement really worked well for the England squad in South Africa 2010 (sic)..

They're playing York, not Real fucking Madrid. We're terrible right now and look like fielding two inexperienced centre backs tomorrow. You'll not find many of our fans optimistic, and unless the Orient players have given up I can't see us getting a win. A draw maybe.

Rumours going round that Hendon HAS to win Saturday at home to 13 games without a win Yeovil, or he will be sacked.

4 wins in the last 20 games - all comps. 9 of which are draws, the plot thickens...............

Also a rumour that Hendon and Hessenthaler had a scuffle in the dugout with some of the Scunthorpe coaching staff at full time. Again.

What a pair of classless pricks. I wouldn't mind so much if they could actually get a side packed full of good League One players to beat the substandard shite down here*, but their ineptitude on the pitch matches their bellend approach off of it.

*Please note: this is not Bertie Big Bolloxing it; it has nowt to do with the size of the clubs and everything to do with the fact that the squad, small though it is, is packed with players who should be plying their trade in the division above. And Ollie Palmer.

They play at the level they deserve to play at. If they get promoted then they will have earnt the right to play at a higher level. If the league is that bad then they should easily get promoted.

Yes and no, whilst they are at the level they deserve to play it Baudry, M'voto, Payne, James, Cox and Simpson would all slot into squads in the division above, possibly Cisak (I'm much less of a fan than other people), Clohessy, Pritchard and Marquis as well. McAnuff is also technically good enough.

Just for whatever reason (the midfield and balance of the team) it isn't happening.

Rumblings coming out of the club that something is happening with the circus...

Journo discussing Jose on Talkshite last night mentioned that the only jobs available at the moment are Swansea and Orient.

Probably take until the new year for our press office to tell us anything anyway, so no breath-holding necessary.

Until we step out on to the pitch. Then we're as dull as fuck for 90 minutes until the circus resumes.
