Gonna get this thread started early, can't wait for the game. United looked good against Spurs while we haven't looked as convincing past two games. But with the home advantage we should be able to win. Looking forward to a great game.

A guid dram
Man Utd were allowed to play well against Spurs though, and they won't be against Liverpool. One swallow doesn't make a summer (but it can make you happy! :P ).

Providing we beat Newcastle, we'll either be 4 points ahead of United and 3 points ahead of Liverpool (Liverpool W), 3 points ahead of United and 5 points ahead of Liverpool (Draw) or 1 point ahead of United and 6 points ahead of Liverpool (United W)

Draw or a Liverpool win please.

Loss or a draw for either team wouldn't be end of top 4 race, still lots of games left.

A draw would actually be a decent result for United in the context of the race for fourth because we've just taken points off of Spurs and effectively killed their charge and we'd be taking points from you also - though not quite killing your chances, harming them. I'd gladly take a draw in that context. I won't be thinking like that on the day though! Liverpool can leapfrog United with a win and they'll be desperate to get it.

Definitely hoping for win too. But I have a feeling Rodgers will start Glen Johnson as one of the wingbacks to defend against Young/Valencia....

You'll be alright if he's marking Valencia - Young has been very good this season though and I'd fancy his chances against Johnson.

Fancying a player's chances against Johnson doesn't mean a whole lot.

2-1 Liverpool.

It certainly doesn't, Young has thrived against much better fullbacks than Johnson (which is nearly every fullback in the league, in fairness) this season though and if he plays then you'll suffer because of it.

We've conceded 6 goals in our last 12 league games. I'm pretty confident we can deal with anything United throw at us, even if Johnson plays. I don't believe we'll keep a clean sheet, but we will win.

Just purposes of clarification, does this mean you think you'll win, or draw? Just because "deal with" is a little vague.

I clarified with an edit before you posted. But, just in case there was any doubt, there was a prediction in the previous post you quoted. You know, where I said we'd win 2-1?

I replied, you know, before you did one of your famous ninja edits, you know?

I'm not clairvoyant, you know!

But not before I predicted the score, presumably. Given that you quoted the post in question.

That wasn't there before, you've conducted some kind of sorcery here. Either that or I'm losing the plot.

I'm in no position to edit your posts. So losing the plot it is.

Yep, I've definitely lost it.

I'll plump for 1-1.

My front 3 for the game would be Coutinho Lallana and Sterling. Sturridge still needs to get back to form..bringing him on later like against city would probably be a good choice. And we need to start doing this early on...

*shots fired* :bg:

Thursday before the weekend was (originally) the old way, gave time for Champions League & midweek games to almost all be got out of the way. Went a bit out of the window.

Hope Valencia's RB, Moreno down his wing & Coutinho out there could be fun.

It's really not fair to talk about Tom like that. He's not here to defend himself.

Valencia sticks to his defensive duties better than Rafael does, you should be hoping the young Brazilian starts!

At the moment I don't mind who you start. :P1:

Don't try to pretend the thought of Valencia rampaging up that right wing and smashing a "cross" straight into your fullback's shins time after time doesn't scare you ;)
