Looking forward to seeing Rangers back in the SPL?

I've got nothing against Pep personally (I've always liked Barca since Romario was with them), but the City fans don't deserve whats happened to their club, you only have to look at the attempt at a send off Pellegrini got when there was no one there, after he won them the fucking league! As for Man Utd, well I'm a Liverpool fan so its in my bones to hate them, and with Mourinho in charge of them now and with them fully abandoned their principles, there's no reason to watch them either.

Having said all that, I don't like Celtic nor Rangers, but it should be a fun, mad game, and won't have the sycophantic coverage the other will for the Chinese market.
Your Scottish team (if any) ?

In the other game....Utd for me.

Don't ask me why as I can't give an answer but for some reason I've always had a soft spot for Dundee & I love watching your Derbies wi Utd when they are televised...always rooting for the dark blues.

Ah, Dundee (FC and United). I remember them even playing in European competition back then in the 80's. United a bit more successful than F.C. They once even reached the Final of the UEFA Cup (by beating Gladbach in the semi-finals).

Back then Scottish Football has had a completely different standing in Europe. It wasn't only Celtic or Rangers, but the likes of Dundee, Aberdeen and even Hearts we'd known here in Germany and respected them. Gone....all gone

btw: Can someone tell me which UK Channel broadcasts the Celtic vs Rangers match live. I've just into my Kodi list where all the matches of today are listed but unfortunately the match isn't listed at 1:30 pm yet (only the Manc-Derby). Maybe they update it later but if not I have to tune direct one of the channels available.

Thanks, Leo. Appreciated. So I don't have to search all the Sports Channels and can click right at Sky Sports 2 in the list.

Kick Off at 12 and not 12:30? (this would be 1pm Middle European Summertime). Good that I've asked here because otherwise I would have missed the first minutes

You couldn't find the Celtic team, Leo? It was all over the field :D . I, on the other side, couldn't find the Rangers team ;)

Well, this was a slashing. Hadn't expected that it was so clear. Celtic better in all departments. And this Senderos guy is an idiot.

Dembele with a Hattrick. The commentator said it was the first Hattrick in the Derby since 50 years. So quite an achievement.

A warm up for Celtic for the CL match in Barcelona, nothing more. All the best for that game you'll need it there because there you will be the underdog. Hopefully it doesn't end like this match.

It's nice when a bit of magnanimity is shown in victory. Unfortunately my friend, you wouldn't know it if it bit you on the fucking arse.....enjoy the rest of your day....:bg:

It is really funny, though. I'm sure Rangers will settle back into their usual dominant rhythms eventually, but for now.... AHAHAHAHAHA

Rangers are a million miles away from competing with Celtic. Signing has been Championship players is hardly going to get Rangers back to where they once were

Can't argue with that. We were given a doing today. Deserved win for Celtic. I was not one of the Rangers fans who thought we would actually compete with Celtic this season. Personally I believe if we finish in the top 4 or 5 that will be a good improvement....then push on from there.

I don't think it will take long for Rangers to get back towards where they were but could be a couple of seasons of mid-table mediocrity as they build up the finances again to be able to make a challenge and then ultimately get back in to European football which is the only way any Scottish side will attract any decent players

Don't get how anyone could take pleasure in watching Rangers being hammered by Celtic.

A mate of mine went to the famous Barca games back then where they ran them close and he always went on about it when I worked with him. I went to a few Utd games as well back in the Nineties to early Noughties as my mates dad had two season tickets and when he couldn't make I went with him to see the games. I never celebrated when they scored though, I wouldn't go that far!

I remember those days also, where the Scottish teams were able to compete with the best European sides, and I remember staying up and seeing Aberdeen beat Real Madrid in the Cup Winners' Cup in the early Eighties. That won't happen again sadly.

What the fuck are you on about, mate? How could anyone not take pleasure in watching Rangers get hammered by Celtic?

Were you joking or something?
Now that's an arsehole of an answer. You make a statement in the form of a question but give no reasoning for it!

Leo, in full flow here. 3 posts in a row. I like that!

Yes, you're right. I mentioned it here, too, in one of my posts, that in the 80's the Scottish Football had a completely different standing in Europe. When the drawings of the (then) European Cup, UEFA Cup or Cup Winners Cup were made and they've shown a German vs a Scottish side match, our first reaction always was "Damn, that will be a hard fight with no clear favourites". Today it's more a "Oh, we're lucky to have drawn a Scottish Side (in the fucking and boring group stages of today's European competitions)" That doesn't mean the German side would underestimate the Scottish Sides (actually Celtic is in the Gladbach Group in the CL). No, but it's the thought that it could have been worse.

I'll always have a soft spot for Scottish Football (I am a fan of british football not only english) and I really like your wonderful country. For me one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

To be honest Dirk, I never make statements like that against ANY club and do not understand how/why people make vicious comment about my club. They will be challenged if deemed fit.....and these fucking idiotic statements are deemed fit....:ohy:

Nobody asked me to back it up with any reasons.
Perhaps it's just me but I personally would have thought that to make such outlandish statements without reasoning actually defeats the purpose of trying to convince others that you are correct. Soooo, here's yer chance big boy..........give!

I watched the last Champions League qualifier with Gladbach and actually think they'll tank Celtic tbh. Dahoud and Hazard looked sensationally good.

do you watch Champions League games (I loathe that title) ? I think the only one I even partially watched last season was the final and then only because I had a good bet on it. No interest whatsoever in it for a good few years and it will get even worse due to this new system soon to be introduced.

I know what you mean, particularly the group stages can be dull as dishwater and even when it gets to the knockout rounds I prefer watching the Europa League as that's usually a lot more fun to watch even if the standard is supposedly lower. The only reason I watch it these days is because my old dear wanted to get the Champions League and European games back as she was missing the footy when we unsubbed from Skysports.
