We marshalled Kee excellently well all game; in the first half especially he didn't even have a sniff.

Then in the 93rd minute we give him his only chance.

Still can't believe we lost that game. Accrington for all their off the ball running didn't really create a lot of chances. Their first was a well taken long range effort and the second more of a hit and hope again from outside the box. The majority of the game we looked the better side and created a lot of chances which before xmas we would have put away. The first half we had two off the line the second of which was a miraculous stop bu their defender. The ball came at pace. Second half we were always going to score but sadly just the one, although our play deserved more. The winner was a crushing blow and thoroughly underserved but just typical bloody Luton really. Don't know how many late goals we've conceded. This has been a problem all season and one Nj has highlighted. For me its a case of doing the basics right like not giving the ball away, composure and not panicking when the ball gets put into the box. The other annoying thing about our game is that we look for too many free kicks, often in positon where if we keep on our feet we can still create chances. Instead we lose the ball and the oppositon get possession. Refs are well aware of our tactics to the point that even genuine fouls aren't given. Today we were also try to run the ball through their defence when heavily outnumbered which Accrington dealt with comfortably. We are far better getting it wide. Bit disappointed that Potts has stopped getting forward as much as he used to which means that Elliot has to go into those wide positions more than he should leaving us with few men in the box when the ball comes in. The defeat was hard to take today but the performance generally was quite good despite the points I've mentioined. The only worry was our fitness levels. I agree the the Stanley poster that we looked tired towards the end and Accrington despite playing midweek looked the more hungrier. As for our promotion chances. Its clearly in our hands. We have enough games to get the points required but with two tough away games coming up that gap could be reduced significanlty. Any Luton supporter will know though is that we never do things the easy way. A final word about refereeing. The standard at this level is diabolical and it really needs to be looked at.

I don't normally moan about refs (honest! think this my first major rant this season!) as a lot of things are pretty subjective, but really todays was an absolutely terrible performance. Not helped by his frankly useless assistant in front of the main stand. Twice in the game absolutely blatant free kicks, one on Sheehan in the first half where he was clearly pushed over and another on Cornick by Donacien who was beat for pace and pulled him back were not given. Literally no more than 5 yards from the linos face and he doesnt see them. Multiple thrown ins, which were absolutely obvious, given the wrong way (for both teams might I add).

We had another farce of us being denied an opportunity by a ref not playing advantage with Hylton running at full speed toward goal. got in the way of Downes passes multiple times. We had the Accrington centre half multiple times thumping the ball down the pitch when free kicks were given with no card, the same player going at the ref with hands open in complaint, in the same way of James Collins did at Cambridge, again no card. And the Accrington centre forward deliberately hand balling a threw ball as with Collins, again no card. Different refs of course but no consistency.

Gambin actually got booked for committing the same foul that Donacien did on Cornick that wasnt given within perhaps 10 seconds of each other.

And an obvious corner in the second half that was a clear deflection off the Accrington player, but given as a goal kick. And the constant backing in and pushes; one of which on Stech was clear and obvious in the first half not given. Not good enough.

Did I mention that I feel absolutely fucking gutted at the moment?

Trouble outside the ground after - we were locked in for 40 mins because of Luton fans trying to get at the stanley fans. Then when gates opened found Luton thugs on both sides trying to get to us. Saw at least 5 stewards being hit. I know this will be the minority but its disgusting behaviour. Several kids and elderly people got caught in it. Police finally arrived and shifted the thugs back down the road

Sad to hear that kids and ederly got caught up in it. The worrying thing that is creeping into games is the response by players to the crowd. Seen it in far too many games this season when opposing players celebrate in front of the oppostion fans trying obviously to wind them up. Accrington players were guilty of this today too, with hand gestures to the home crowd. They succeeded in winding quite a few up and the fact is it was a last minute goal didn't help matters. There is no excuse for the fans reaction outisde the ground but the Accrington players didn't help the atmosphere and have to realise by doing that they can put their own fans at risk. Like I said unfortunately its a habit which seems to be increasing in the game. Our own players have certainly been guilty of it. Seen very little media coverage on this but its clear its an issue that needs to be looked at.

Not accusing anyone of anything here but Colemans was repeatedly going up to the 4th offical and having discussions about what was going on on the field. Just interested to know what he hoped to gain from it. NJ to his credit tends to stay in his area and if he does have words with the ref then he does it at half time or the end of the game.

Credit to Accrington, they came to Luton with a gameplan and they executed it.

Good luck to them, but the better team still lost.

You’ve still got four points and a game in hand before you drop out of the top 3. You’re fine, stop worrying.

The better team won - that’s how football works.

From the outside looking in it still looks a decent position, but I cant help but think that the way we lost today will be a crushing blow to the team. They are already mentally pretty weak and we have a terrible record in big games. To play well and still lose like that I think will impact them even more. It is no surprise that our form has turned as the games have got bigger and the loss here makes the games next week even more important.

2 tricky looking away games coming up too where the form has really nosedived of late.

Just seen a video of the handball penalty appeal the players were all going on about early first half. I couldnt see as I had a pillar in the way (I do love the Kenny). All I can say is wow. One of the most blatant handballs I have ever seen.

When it’s not your day it’s not your day I guess.

Refereeing decisions should even themselves out, but key ones in the last few games have been extremely costly.

Accrington played us twice, had five chances and scored all five. They don’t need to create many chances in fairness they are clinical and that’s why they are top. Both times I couldn’t believe we’d lost to them but their game plan works.

I take it the comments from some Luton fans around Christmas that said "Mind the gap" can be laughed at now  Plymouth fans did the same 2 seasons ago but ended up losing to Wimbledon in the play off final so perhaps it's best not to brag until your team has been officially promoted to League 1 otherwise you will quite rightly be laughed at.

We deserve the above criticism and should take it on the chin. Criminal capitulation from us. We are so streets ahead of everyone in this League and so streets not. Let's hope we learn. Jones has so far each time there's a wall or question he's come back harder stronger better. We got the talent. Harder to buy mental fotitude. Need Cuthbert and McCormack back in starting side quick sharp

But in the long term it’s not going to pay off having to rely on that.

Unfortunately for us not only did our fans got carried away with our progress, judging by social media comments the players did too, they seem to have thought the job was done and they were far too good for this division. Man is that coming back to bite us! The job isn't done until the mathematics say it's done and you have to keep your head, the trouble at the top of leagues is that a run of 3 or 4 games without a win can derail a whole season.

We're under pressure now to turn this form around before it's too late which will play on the minds of fans and players which will make for edgy atmospheres and shaky performances. The positive is we're still in good shape to go up so need to forget about the title and concentrate simply on getting points on the board. We're going to have to win one of the next 2 games which are away at Coventry and Newport, not easy but we need to stay focused and not panic.

I like Luton so I’ll be disappointed for their fans if they did blow it. Danny Hylton on the other hand.......
