Have no preference of who stays up.
But i'll wish both sides all the best as we were so very close to ourselves being one of those teams.

Fair play to County on their away support at Swindle.

Just out of interest will it turn nasty against the players if you go down or are you just apathetic about it.

Reason i ask is because i've just watched last weeks Quest and the Ipswich fans were incredible given the season they have had. Almost non stop singing and ovations.
Really i'd of expected the opposite but somehow they have all pulled together.

I think it will be a mixture, it depends on the game as well. If we win but Macc do as well (or draw) I don’t think the reaction will be too bad. But lose and the players will get some stick from a few in the away end. There were some ugly scenes at Crewe a few weeks back following our 3-0 defeat, and there could be a repetition of that, especially if a few have been on the pop on the journey down.

Essentially though, half the players on the pitch either came in Jan (Schofield, Stubbs, Rose, Doyle, O’Brien, CMS), or haven’t really featured a great deal (Tootle, Bird), and aren’t really responsible for the fact we’re going down, so giving them vitriolic abuse at FT is a bit brainless IMO. The damage was already done. I think it would have been worse if we’d had a shocker last week against Grimsby at home and dropped then.

If we play well and go down it should be fine. If we play like we did at Crewe, Macclesfield lose and we could have stayed up if only we'd played to the required standard for the biggest game in our history then it could get a bit arsey.

My prediction : damp squib .

News will filter through early from Macclesfield that the home side has gone 1 up and the situation will just drift away with stunned silence and a smattering of black humour from the travelling fans

I'm nervous.

Weirdly, I don’t feel nervous at all. I think because it’s expected we’ll drop. Plus some encouraging whispers about the supposed new owners give me some confidence for the future should the worst happen tomorrow.

However this will probably all change if we’re say 1-0 up and Macc are one goal down entering the final five minutes!

Bolton going bust.
hmm......its a scenario that could save someone, but I think that once they are in admin they would become a more attractive proposition for someone to buy on the cheap. I'm not sure that there is a precedent for a club of that size to go altogether.

FGS why should football keep me waking at night. Can't believe that in almost 13 hours we will be ending 156 years in the league.

I can envisage the conspiracy theories now

Does that help or hinder us
? The last thing Notts fans is going to blame is another club manager or set of players , we’re a lot better than that .

Everyone* knows Danny Whitaker scored on his 400th appearance for Macclesfield Town away at Guiseley. Today would be his 450th appearance for Macclesfield Town, if he is to feature.

I'm not going to predict the outcome as it's a nightmare position to be in for both teams. Most of the teams who have struggled have off the pitch issues which haven't helped, so whoever drops today, I hope they come back stronger and soon.

Come on Silkmen. You deserve it after the season you've had. A draw is enough. I honestly can't see Notts winning at Swindon. Go for the win.

You ain’t seen the team we’re likely to put out. I’d happily lose if it meant County stayed up.

I’d be the same if the roles were reversed and Swindon came to Meadow Lane in a desperate situation .

None of it will matter as Macclesfield will win . Neither deserves to stay up but one will .

I had the choice of the County Ground on Saturday afternoon and almost inevitable doom and gloom or a paid for 4 course Michelin Star Italian meal with accompanying wines in the capital.

Special food over not special football won out. Should cheer me up a little after the final whistle

Not a real fan.

Good luck today. To both teams.

As fans we can only cheer on our team and hope for the best.
