Good performance from us. Thought the red card was a bit harsh but if he's gone over the ball with studs up then what can you do. Excellent goal from Vernam to seal it, I've got really high hopes for the lad and think he could be a real answer for us up front.

I honestly think Impish gets more pleasure from Grimsby losing than he does Lincoln winning, the absolute ball bag.

If Grimes hadn't fucked us over with that second goal then I wonder if we might have nicked a draw with 6 minutes of added time and our entire strike force on the pitch at once.

First time I've seen Mycock and I wasn't impressed, likewise Rose was poor. Jared got given the run around by the Grimsby winger as well. Would like to see Lowe, Lloyd and Vincenti all come in for the Bradford game.

We were warned Grimes likes to cause a catastrophic error every few games and he does make several horrendous errors a game seemingly; hope the reason Lowe isn't playing isn't something to do with disputes between agents/the chairman.

Positive is Yates might be closer to knowing his best team as we were much better after subs (even in the brief time before the red card too). Got to drop Rose though, and dedicate a lot of time to practicing crosses as most sailed past Smith (and the goal) who was understandably frustrated, and then somehow managed to miss from 7 yards himself.

Long long season for us.

Well, I was certainly wrong about the formation. Sounds like we went back to the formation that suited us so well at the end of last season, with Welsh playing in front of the back 4 and Jordan Cook as lone striker. Surprised that RHJ didn’t play at RB but Davis apparently did OK. Rose getting sent off didn’t help and sounded like we rode our luck a bit after that but a defensive mistake (haha) wrapped it up nicely for us. If we can play more like that next week, then we hopefully won’t get hammered.

Need Welsh and the CBs to be on their game and I expect their to be a few changes still.

Yeah the Rose sending off is annoying right before Lincoln, MJ said we will be appealing it maybe. I reckon maybe Hessenthaler to come into the middle of the midfielders and Clifton to play where he was today if Rose is suspended. A shame because even though that's alright, Rose has been key under Jolley. But sod that attitude about maybe not getting spanked. I'm going into next weekend with fire in my belly and a bit of hope now!

I agree Jolley won't and shouldn't drop his 352 system. This is a work in progress that will take numerous transfer windows to accomplish..

So you're essentially saying we don't currently have the right personnel for it but Jolley should stick with it anyway? Sorry dude, made no sense. So happy to see he changed it and we got a fantastic result.

Id be very worried if I were a Macc fan, grimsby are the perfect side you’d want for an easy first win for a bit of comfort - conceding a goal when they’re down to 10 isn’t great

There is no way that it will get overturned so I hope we don’t appeal it, it has to be blatantly incorrect to get overturned and this one wasn’t.

If you are very worried after 2 games I worry about you.

It's true though. Grimsby and Morecambe are probably the two weakest sides in the division. Realistically they're the two you should be striving to finish above so to lose at home to one of these against 10 men is concerning.

Plenty of games to go though, good to see you back in the league.

I think we can make it work if we play RHJ and Fox which I have actually said a few times but if we're not going to do that then Jolley should and did rightly change it. My point is essentially about fans who can't give a new system even one game to work. It was never going to be perfect from the off.

It’s been a tough league compared to the the bananarama league. Down there A side wouldn’t have came back like Swindon, in the conference you’d have levelled against the opposition than go 2 down - we also found out the hard way.

Don’t worry, you’ve got us in a fortnight, we’ll give you a win.

Poor attempt Wimpish, your banter got much better a few months back but it’s gone back to its old ways now, trying way too hard for a bite mucker. :bg:

So perfect that you haven't won at Blundell Park in your last 10 visits. Last time Mansfield won at Grimsby, Rick Astley 'Never Gonna Give You Up' was at number one and Adam Stag wasn't even living in Manchester.:lol::lol:

Absolute state of some of the Lincoln/Mansfield saddos obsessed with getting a bite out of us.

Banter? What on earth makes you think that I don't believe you'll be in and around the bottom two. Banter would be saying Notts County are going down/will struggle as they're sat on one point.

There's nothing in that post that should generate a 'bite'. Yourselves and Morecambe scraped survival last season, I saw nothing over the summer to suggest you won't be in the same predicament come April. Good win today, though.

We are the weakest side in this division. So losing to anyone isn't a surprise.

Still waiting for some actual opinions on our players that you're so well schooled on, Impish?

Like Gary Jones' elbow in the 05/06 playoff semi? ;)
