Liverpool play their best match this season, and probably better than any game last season too.

And then we were poor anyway, panic set in early at the back and we fell apart. We didn't chase the game well either and never looked very dangerous. We probably deserved to lose by more.

What a win. Klopp's time so far at the club might have been slightly mixed but we wouldn't have achieved a similar result under Rodgers in a million years.

Already beaten City and Chelsea away. Stoke, Arsenal, Everton, Spurs, United, Chelsea and City away games all done with now.

Shame to see Man City fans leaving so early, but I can only assume they went home to see how much a Leicester City season ticket is. :err:

Yeah. Really should have beaten palace at home too. Benteke missing easy chances like today smh.
MOTD should be fun today, missed all games and liverpool's first half.

A lot of very winnable games coming up between now and the Arsenal game. We need to step up and take them to compete for that 4th spot, so no more performances like we saw against Palace.

Brillant win for Liverpool and thoroughly deserved. The high tempo/quick passing philosophy from Klopp slowing filtering down to the squad.

Could be good value going forward over time Liverpool.

i fancy liverpool to finish top 7
its their year haven't you heard?

City playing a weakened team was the major factor, then taking Aguero off.

Still it makes for an open premier league ..........i heard someone predicted the ' most open premiership ever' at the start of the season

Yup, we were much the better side. We just need to sort the consistency out and a challenge for 4th isn't out of the question. And we have Sturridge to come back too.

The first time since 2003 City have conceded 4 at home in the league. I find that amazing.

Oh my life get the f in!!!!!!!!!

Them Brazilian lads were just boss!! Ran through City like they weren't even there!! Emre Can ran the midfield and that backheel!!

Snortingfrogs you are a legend mate!!! What a prediction!

Now to cock this all up and mess up against Swansea next weekend. Hoping Coutinho hamstring isn't too bad. We just need to turn it around at Anfield.

I'll be honest...I don't even rely on Sturridge anymore as I cant be arsed to say...we got Sturridge to return. We can't build the attack around him and he should just be a bench player for impact or start if Benteke can't play.....If and that's a big if he doesn't get injured again.

We've been relying on trying to get the lad fit for over a year now and just think either this Lallana, Coutinho, Firmino attack or Benteke ahead of 2 of them is our way forward

Don't agree. He's an injury nightmare and can't be relied upon, but when he's in a position to play, he plays. He's still our best striker and if only one up front is being played, I'd have him over Benteke.

Amazing

Lovely to wake up and see the vilest of vile clubs have taken a hammering.

I read the thread shocked to see not one mention of how City have wasted money these last few years given it's all anyone wants to talk about with United.

It's unbelievable that in an era of unprecedented spending for us these last 3 years they have still comfortably outspent us in net and gross spend.. When you think of the rebubuilding job we have done and the players we have needed to replace while their core has remained intact its astonishing. That means they have obliterated every other side in the leagues spending just these last 3 years not counting what was spent previous.

They really should be absolutely dominant yet both their league wins have com as a result of bottle jobs and despite their quality you never fancy them to dominate they way Chelsea or United did in their last league wins.

The lack of criticism is definitely odd. I'd imagine Pelligrini is a goner come the end of the year.

Na it was a draw with Hearts which isn't a bad result the way they've been playing the last few seasons. :D

I think Coutinho is not very good and massively overrated.

Get the fuck in! Possibly 7 of the worst away games out the way and only one defeat 3 wins 3 draws I'll take that. Just hope we sort our consistency and home form out! Up the Reds!

Firmino has been at Melwood for 2 weeks with no international football, with Coutinho as well. It shows when you have fresh players who've been learning to play with each other for so long.

If they were international players yesterday's result may have looked a little different.

Maybe only 3-1.

Some brilliant goals too.

Wonder if Rodgers enjoyed that.
