We weren't particularly great but we didn't need to be, Liverpool offered no threat to us at all - aside from the Benteke wonder goal, which was brilliant. Martial's goal was pretty special as well.

Was de Gea not tested at all really?

Not really to be honest. He had to make one very good save from an Ibe shot but that's about it.

Expected result. Both teams were pretty poor apart from two good goals. Our defense was just more shit, like against West Ham.

Hmmm. Doesn't sound good. Have Norwich and Villa at home next two games, they are must wins already. Hopefully Sturridge can play a part in them and see if the team can click. Should have Coutinho too so not all lost yet.

Need to fuck that 4-3-3 off sharpish. Like someone mentioned before this actually reminds me of the Hodgson days. Fucking shite.

If they can't get 6 out of 6 in those two home games coming questions have to be asked of Rodgers. The squad isn't too bad he just doesn't seem to be able to get then ticking along currently.

How long does Rodgers have?

If we didn't win that game I'd have been fuming. Aside from Benteke's beauty, Liverpool offered nothing. Much better second half from us. Martial looked excellent when he came on, so hopefully we see more of that. Amazing debut goal.

Think LVG's assessment on Martial's goal and performance was pretty on point. We were ahead and there was alot more space for him to play into, but he showed signs that he has the attributes to settle and continue developing in this league. Took his goal beautifully too for a 19 year old in his debut appearance.

I like how Martial hangs on the shoulder of the last defender, inviting anyone to play him in. It's been a while since we've seen that at United, it could prove fruitful away from home where we really struggle for goals.

Liverpool were awful, all you need is a disciplined formation and they're nullified.

It was a nice dummy run to allow the space for Blind's goal. That's where his experience really pays off.

I think thespus has a point in regards to Bastian playing high pressing teams. In games where we're controlling the game he's perfect.

He played well. I expected Liverpool to press more. Like I said when he first signed - he'll play a handful of exceptional matches, a handful of nightmares, and mostly be a passenger. That's been his MO since the treble season with Bayern. I like Bastian, and am forever grateful for his role in winning the world cup, I just don't think he was the right signing for United - more gloss than function.

Tyler is trying to leave his mark on the debut goal of an expensive teenager who is expected to become a great player. Nothing more.

Awful game between two terrible sides. Martial's goal was pure fluke, it bounced of his shins but the usual pro-Manc media are making out as a great goal.

English football is at an all time low if Manchester United are considered a 2nd pot. Shit fo

Bastian is only going to get fitter and better. He was a class above any Liverpool midfielder today. Milner, Can and Lucas were given a lesson by Basti and Carrick. I feel sorry on Benteke. It's going to be a long season for him, unless Sturridge comes back firing.
