I would happily give him a chance, he will have the chance to build his own team and bring in his own coach as well I think. He got promoted out of this league only 3 seasons ago, albeit with a big budget and one of the players he used that season now plays for us - Ouss Cisse.

I'd prefer him to Calderwood who is Martin Lings mate and hasn't done much down here for a number of years, he steadied Cambridge but the fact that Mark Bonner did better than him says it all really. I'd have taken Calderwood 18 months ago when he turned us down as we needed an experienced head to steady the ship, but that ship has long since sailed.
Fair enough. I’d imaging Tisdale would stipulate he’s allowed to bring in his own staff as he loves to work with people he trusts. Will keep an eye on developments as I am always interested on where he’ll end up next.

How would you feel about Tisdale getting the job? If he had time to put his methods into practice I can see him doing well. Trouble is, his last two jobs have gone sour and the owners have pulled the trigger fairly quickly. He seems to build trust with his players but as I said, needs a good couple of seasons to really get things right.

Tisdale rumoured to be the favourite for us FWIW.

To be honest given what a chumley-warner we have running the club and the fact we have no staff, we could do lot worse than Tisdale. There are some frightening names out there, don't think Tisdale is one of them personally.

Gave you a like for that phraseology. Mind you, with their roads, a donkey would have been better than a bike.

Well Skybet finally started to offer odds this afternoon but have already suspended betting on Adams.

Could be Flynn, Hartlepool's manager who knows cause sport is a mad world and honestly Bradford would be in severe danger if was adam's releasing players on your end esp when he's under contract if there's no agreement is reached full stop plus it'll be funny cause "Big" Bradford paying "Little" Morecambe for a manager

Severe danger, how?

The same group of players would’ve been binned by the fans - there was no surprises, really.

Unless you mean ‘legally speaking’? If so, absolutely no one apart from the two clubs’ officials know what the craic is. Legally speaking, it’ll all be above board - whoever it is.

Interesting. Not the first time he’s been linked with the Swindon job. Ideal location for him too as he lives in Wiltshire I think.

The certainty with which Sparks spoke last week about the new guy being in place suggests to me any legality, contracts, etc. are signed, sealed and delivered already, therefore avoiding any underhand conflict of interest. Either way, if it was him, I don’t for a second expect the Morecambe chairman or Adam’s to come out days before one of the biggest games in the clubs history and say, oh yeah, the managers just been sorting out whether or not the Bradford City left back is kept on for next year, wink wink.

No CEO in the country would publicly breach any form of contractual agreement.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think it’s Adams.

If it is Adams, I'd be furious if I was a Morecambe fan. Not particularly a good look sorting out our retained list/recruitment whilst preparing for the playoffs.

Looks like Kenny Jackett is our new manager and an announcement will be made tomorrow.

One hell of a coup for ouselves at this level, our board are no doubt hoping his experience will guide us in the same way the late Justin Edinburghs did.

If he doesn't at least get us a playoff spot after being given the chance to literally build his own squad, then I won't know what to think next.

That would be a coup for this level.

Watch him now fail miserably a la Holloway
We're alot better run than Grimsby are though, our board have us well oiled and run after what the last group of idiots did to us.

Literally cannot argue with this appointment has I believe every team in this league would take Jackett.

If this ends in us not at least getting a playoff push it will mean experience isn't everything!

Decent, that.

Arguably, this is the first time during his managerial career where he will not be back financially by a club and its respective league position. It’ll be interesting to see how it pans out.

No disrespect intended.

Sort of true, our board have invested in their 4 years here and paid transfer fees for players - Not HUGE ones for a club of our size but the odd fee here and there. Think we've bought 5 players for fees since 2017.

Dan Kemp was bought from West Ham in January and has so far been money well spent.

Sorry but we were the best run club in the EFL last season, honest Ian Holloway said so a couple of months before walking out on us when he realised that he’d been talking out of his arse all along.

No offence to Barrow but I can't see Challinor going there. The only step up there is the league and you'd have to pay compo. Tranmere, well I'd be surprised if DC isn't interested.

yeah i'd be surprised too - but he could be an important piece in our manager search, as Tranmere moving for Challinor would give us a freer path to McGreal if that's someone the club is looking at.

Very impressive appointment for you at this level if confirmed.

I would expect you to be challenging for promotion next season
