What would make Wellens a good fit, Dan?
We had underperformed for years under Flitcroft then Phil Brown. For some reason, Power decided to back him in transfers/loans. Surprising now knowing Power was about to disappear up his own arse. Best football for a long, long time. Some of our fans will say he got lucky signing good players who had poor injury history that managed to stay fit.

That plus he signed Doyle and Jerry Yates which helped!

I know he’s not done much elsewhere but there has been reasons for that.

Cheers Dan.

Sounds like he could be a decent appointment if we go for him. Certainly seems like one of the better choices out there! Not sure who I'd like to see come in really. I wanted Adams last time so I'm gonna be quiet this time...

Think you need to avoid one of the merry go round types

What is the history between Evans and Bradford? Noticed a few saying it on here & Twitter.

Happy with the Flynn appointment, seems to have a good reputation amongst lower league fans going by Walsall's Twitter feed after it was announced.

Hopefully he can keep us up & aim for a solid mid-table next season. My only worry is a few Walsall fans expecting too much of him next season, time will tell. We need to give him time to bed in the foundations and go from there.

The scruffy eye liner wearing bung taking prick flashed his cock at Bradford

Agree with you there, Dan. Think it's about time we try something a little different.

And yeah, Evans exposed himself to a female steward when he brought his Crawley side. Think it was the game where five players got sent off for throwing punches.

Hopefully he takes the Bradford job so there is no chance of him coming here when we sack Jackett ;)

Please no :(

When he was saying the owner has spent a fortune on it I can’t help thinking that is news to Bradford fans. When’s the last time he was really successful in a role though? Mansfield maybe before he bailed from them?

No idea where he's got that from. Spent a minimal amount.

Yeah, he's not done anything for upwards of five years. Then again, I still wouldn't want him him anywhere near if he had got someone promoted last week!

Basically he was on course to get Mansfield automatically promoted, left with 12 games to go for China, ended up in Peterborough, fell out with the owner got the sack then ended up at basket case Gillingham.

Yeah Evans seems to have fallen down managerial stock these days, but he did in fairness usually go to clubs with money (Crawley at the time, Rotherham) which generally makes life easier.

Just remember Micky Adams rant after we hosted Crawley in their first EFL game and Evans was moaning when they didn’t beat us he’d have to spend more money! He absolutely hated Evans!

Evans did a good job with Crawley before the money poured in to be fair.

Bradford would be mad not to go after Pete Wild at Halifax, brilliant manager. Can see he’s in the betting along with our bloke (who I think has been at Bradford as a youth coach before), not that it means much.

Quite a big step up that. Could he deal with the crowds and the expectation? I wish we'd gone for Wild, sort of a midway point between a Halifax and Bradford stature. Definitely think he'd do a good job at a club our kind of size. Not complaining though, Lee is settling in well.

He managed Oldham for a bit didn’t he? Don’t think his record was terrible there either.

Bradford are a big club but don’t think they’re above a guy doing a brilliant job locally in the league below. He’s got no right really to have Halifax where they are with the budget he has, and unlike the other surpriseish teams in Bromley and Boreham Wood, it’s playing a really entertaining brand of football.

Bolton taking Evatt off us is one perfect example of where doing that has worked.

Yeah, Evatt would be a good example (although Wild is a lot more likeable). Obviously him actually winning the league will have helped, but to be honest the league is miles stronger this year so Halifax being where they are is probably as impressive.

You might be right, he is a hell of a manager. Him and Challinor are the two best outside the FL. Would the Bratfud fans give him time though? Thats the only thing, it might not click immediately. I agree he should be in their thinking and he'd be a better choice than any on the lower league merry-go-round at the minute.

To be fair to him, Evans was probably asking her what it looked like as he hadn't seen it in years

And us taking Buckle from Torquay was an example where it did'nt.
Buckle at least brought in 'some' decent players like Lee Brown, Muzzy Carayol, Michael Smith and Dan Woodards.

Mark McGhee, now there was a fucking awful manager..just brought in a lot of scottish has-beens

Mcghee was the biggest fraud to ever have been employed by Rovers -- Yes Gills fans bigger than Ehmer.
