Fowler now sneaked in as favourite, doesn’t mean anything I know but I think it’ll be more a coach this time rather than old school manager so not impossible. After Adams I wouldn’t mind someone more left field and his playing status would bring some interest to the club and command respect from the players. I think that definitely helped the likes of Gerrard, Rooney and Lampard start their coaching careers.

My choice would be Wild at Halifax and I know a fair few City fans feel the same. After our experiences with so called been there and done it managers the last 4 years we’re all ready for someone fresh and new.

Kenny Jackett it is then…

Be gutted if Pete Wild ended up with you. There’s a good chance we’d be back in for him if we stay up and get taken over, regardless of whether he get’s Halifax up or not.

I would rather Fowler than Evans as interim manager that's for sure. I think we are looking at am interim appointment as it appears Sparks has someone in mind permanently in the summer

Are we all in fact unemployed football managers?

I can't even get Exeter out of League 2 on FM2018 so I'm not surprised nobody has headhunted me for the Bradford job.

I’ll be surprised if Hilly stays with us. Probably go back to the North West and go a bit of work on Radio Manchester or something.

Richie Wellens at the game tonight. Probably left at half time the poor guy.

Think that was coming. Thought that was a good appointment in the summer but seems never recovered from the covid cancellations. To be honest I thought McAnuff did a good job last season when he took over, maybe go for him?

Luke Garrard at Boreham Wood must be a decent shout, very good up and coming manager, he'll only leave them for another London based club.

Not sure whether he'd consider leaving while they're chasing promotion but wonder how long it'll be for a club to look in Matt Gray at Suttons direction to fill a vacancy. Done a hell of a good job there as it's not as though they are a bankrolled hobby club. The football his teams play seems more efficient than spectacular but no doubting he gets the results.

Might be a bit soon to be asking, but who do you fancy for the role?

I've been told that our board will try and go for Darren Ferguson and Grant McCann - the key word being "try" to get them. McCann won't happen, shouldn't be coming down here, Ferguson MIGHT be tempted if we throw some money at him.

In all honesty the ideal manager was Mike Flynn and he's now at Walsall.

At worst we could get Keith Curle in to try and keep us out of trouble.

For the first time in a long time, I can't see an ideal out of work manager/Coach to come in and turn us around.

I'd have no problem appointing Luke Garrard, but no decent manager still in a job will be leaving their roles to come here anytime soon. Especially if we're likely to be in the NL next season.

Apparently Barton is being carried on the shoulders of Orient fans down Brisbane Road.

Who'd have thought?

Two good names right there in Ferguson and McCann.

The out of work managers are hardly inspiring, are they? We've got Robbie Fowler near the top of our list.

Hopefully both clubs get in a decent appointment before long, mate. Oh I don't know. I think Orient are definitely a prospect for up and coming managers. I know this season has been dreadful, but I wouldn't rule out getting someone like Garrard in.

Since the New Year under Jackett, we've been terrible. The players lack of desire and fight has been evident for a while now, they've not been playing for him for a long time.

He wasn't helped by losing 4 players (3 of them our better players) to long term injuries, constant niggling injuries/illnesses/covid and not playing for 6 weeks, but when players don't show any fight you know the game is up. For me he should've gone 3 weeks ago when Colchester beat us and we barely laid a glove on them.

It all looked very good early on, we was hard to beat and taking our chances especially at home - but away from home you could spot Jacketts flaws - Slow to make subs in narrow games - we've lost late goals to draw games away from home, he'd prefer to keep the starting XI and not change anything even with players tiring towards the end. We've lost 8 points away from home to late goals which has lead to us drawing games.

Then we gradually started conceding goals from set plays regularly.

I heard behind the scenes that the players hated his training regimes and that he's had fall outs with Conor Wood, Darren Pratley, Harry Smith & Callum Reilly and Ostrized all of them from training from the squad on certain occasions. He also refused to give Ruel Sotiriou more game time has he didn't rate his passing I heard.

His team selections have been evident of this at times too, complaining in interviews that we don't have enough experience - according to what we've been hearing its been Jacketts choice to keep playing all these youngsters and signing more youngsters Ethan Coleman and Jordan Brown to bolster our central midfield even though both are clearly out of their depth.

We went into the season with no proper backup strikers/midfielders as well, no strikers/midfielders on our bench if any make a regular enough impact to change games

Our squad overall has little experience in depth - we're told by the board and Martin Ling this was Jacketts choice - so why has Jackett been complaining of a lack of experience whilst still playing youngsters and at times ostrizing the more senior players. Its been a total mess now for 2 and a half months.

I wouldn't rule it out given this clubs habit of making shit decisions, but I'd be surprised if they let Skelton take it. His record when he's been caretaker isn't exactly impressive.

Keith Millen gone
about time... it doesn't thrill me all that much mind you given that Holdsworth is now in charge of appointing his successor.

Bet you anything too that with Hanford having 'stepped back from first team duties', Holdsworth moves onto the bench to 'assist' Skelton in the interim.

I would hope we have someone in mind that we can go out and get fairly quickly instead of pissing about for weeks. Interesting that the statement says Skelton will take charge of todays training session. Usually it would say he'd take charge of first team affairs while we search for the successor.

I'd hope they've taken this decision out of Holdsworth's hands. In fact I hope we see a statement soon saying he's gone as well.
