Matt Harrold in interim charge. No doubt we’ll take weeks to ‘conduct a thorough appointment process’ by which time we’ll be in the bottom three having still not scored a goal for about five years.

Rumours are it’ll be the old Swindon partnership of Wellens with Jewell above him. Operation copy everything they did is on.

It definitely worked during the Covid hit season! Jewell has the contacts and Wellens seemed to be able to get a tune out of them. It's not worked out for Wellens after he left us - Donny was terrible and a bit of a shock for me as I thought he would do well - but I think it's a good appointment, if it happens.

I see Adams is back at Morecambe

"So, what have you been doing since you dumped us last season, Derek?"

Where the fuck did that come from! Makes Saturday’s game appealing I suppose.

That was unexpected to say the least. More than decent record overall though I’m particularly a fan of his final year at Stoke..

Interesting appointment! You'd imagine the Bradford board must have given him a bit of a wedge to work with for him to come down to League 2.

You have the Bradford appointment (Came out of nowhere) and this. Still if it keeps them up.
I don't think keeping them up is really an issue, they're in no real danger and could have continued with Trueman till the end of the season with no risk of relegation. They must be thinking ahead to next season as this on is all but over for them now.

Seems a massive gamble on a manager who has done nowt for more than a decade, no clue about tactics, and about as charismatic as a cardboard box. Might be able to attract some big names, I suppose.

Rank bad appointment. No manager appointed in lge 1/2 should be over 40. Wont know anything about his squad, wont know anything about players who may be available to him this Summer. Probably get on the training ground and will be the best player on there, will get frustrated at instructions not getting carried out by others.

Why do teams never learn

Worked out pretty well financially for Morecambe.

Adams leaves to manage Bradford... get compensation.
Appoint Robinson
Robinson leaves to manage St Mirren... get compensation
Appoint Adams

All apart from being in the relegation zone but it was always going to be a season of struggle for them.

Interesting to see how Hughes gets on, maybe has a bit of when Micky Adams came to Vale, needed to drop down to reboot his career and ultimately wen't well but did take a little time.

Will be a culture shock thats for sure!

Have to admit after he has managed the likes of Bojan and Shaqiri at Stoke I can’t wait to see the look on his face the first time he sees Theo Robinson attempt to play football.

I think his contacts are a bit past it. Can't see Lee Sharpe and Robbie Savage turning it on in League Two.

I doubt Lee would fancy returning to us, tbh.

Too quick judgement.
No new players in or out till end of season so MH can concentrate solely on players he inherited. Time away from management will not dull his coaching skills.
And he has 3 months to access new appointments. Plenty of time.

On paper a cracking appointment - one of intent that’s for sure. My only worry is that he has no experience at this level. Then again, many ex-Prem players make a decent fist of their first managerial job down the league’s.

Hope he’s not a Kenny Jackett!

We've appointed Mark Hughes. Yes that Mark Hughes.

I genuinely don't know what to say

I probably wouldn’t be very happy.

When did he last manage? what does he know about the lower leagues? Let’s see how long this ones lasts.

That’s one of the more random ones. I recall being linked with us when we sacked coughlan, thankfully we went for clough!

He’s always came across as decent, i wish him well

Reminds me of when we took on Dave Jones as manager in our relegation season, manager who’d only been in the top flights of the pyramid, dipping down to League 2 after 4 years of doing nothing, it was a disaster.
