1/10 on sky bet. I know bookies can be wrong but rarely at them odds surely.

Langstaff to follow? :D

Crowley, Bostock and Jones are better players in their positions IMO. Taking nothing away from Langstaff who is clearly a very good striker for this level and a top one at the one below.

Does this mean that County may be a threat to other good sides in the division now?

If you feed him he'll be a top striker at least one division above this level. He's adapted instantly and now scored 90+ goals in two and a half seasons.

Haha was just thinking the same. They could appoint someone who sorts their defence out now and doesn't play suicide tactics.

I've been pumping positive Williams PR around the forum so they wouldn't sack him.

The fact Swansea have picked it up and wanted to appoint him is astounding.

He's a total pudding. Very bad news for the rest of the division if he fucks off.

Fair fucks if he’s gone, the Swansea job has been a launching pad for a few very good managerial careers, not sure nowadays but it’s rare people turn down the chance to move up 2 leagues. He’ll always be a legend for last season.

Hopefully the new guy brings a decent defensive coach with him.

Also big compo incoming.

Can't have any complaints with him taking a much bigger job two leagues higher and closer to his home. Gave us the season of a lifetime last year, hope he does amazingly there. I am a bit surprised he's got a job that high up so soon, though.

Does feel like it might be an opportunity as much as a disaster, though. Just as Williams added a bit of intensity and more goals to Burchnall's pretty football, see if we can find someone who can build on what they've done and make us a bit more secure and consistent.

Can't blame him at all, 2 divisions up and a nice area to live in.

Swansea fans haven't been happy for a while, Martin was just meh and it was surprising that Southampton poached him. They played fart-about football for a couple of years and ended up mid table twice. Duff was a disaster.

I could honestly see Williams back at Notts in a year's time if his box-entries talk doesn't land.

Ian Burchnall is a sensational manager. Notts County and their owners should be moving heaven and earth to bring him back to what is essentially his home.

That could work, he does seem to be reluctant to travel outside a twenty mile radius of Alfreton

He lives down there somewhere already. I'd heard it was a done deal from a reliable source on New year's day, so I'm not surprised but I'm really pissed off.
We're a selling club, it was always going to happen. Just need to do the same to another club lower down the food chain.

This is total conjecture, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see us go for the Crawley manager.

I guess I'm only seeing some of their fans on Twitter but they all seem to love Martin, you'd think Williams will be starting on the right foot.

Nothing much to add from what's gone above, other than I'm looking forward to everyone being shocked we go for some unknown B team coach instead of Karl Robinson.

And he's already worked at the club before, so he knows what's what. He probably looks at it as the perfect club for him, don't think he'd have left you for just any old team.

No he wouldn't, the Swindon debacle clearly upset him and he's always talked about structure at the club. He likes everything organised and definitely a methodical planner.. Despite our goals against column.

I imagine this has been rumbling for a bit, you’d expect County are ready to replace him quickly.

Neil Warnock back to Notts for one final flourish? Would get them playing proper football again.

Good call as Lindsey has turned us from no hopes to a mid table team while shopping in part time football for players.

The one problem is he moved to us to be closer to his family (who live Gillingham way) after some rough times.

It's rare Notts lose a manager to anyone other then ourselves these days.

Yeah if I was a Swansea fan I’d be more than a tad concerned at our defence this season, cos that’s the part of the team that has needed some actual coaching.

As regards the next bloke, speculating seems a bit pointless given that it’ll be someone we’ve never heard of. Pete Wild would be top of list for me in a normal world though. I’m not taking the piss Barra fans, that’s just who I’d like, rather than I think he’d go for it.

Williams has apparently been learning Welsh for months. It's all coming out now.

Timing is annoying as Williamson has always been top of my list, just a few weeks late. Tough to really see anyone who is a natural fit, obviously some big overachievers in National League but none of them feel appropriate. I think it’ll be another coach type who is an assistant somewhere else higher up.

The good Phil Parkinson again maybe? Bald, which is a bonus.
