Grimsby fans - There is a very amusing 10 minute interview with Ian Holloway on the Totally Football League podcast. Say whatever you like about the man, you cannot help but like the guy, what an infectious, bubbly character. So different to many of today's dull, monotonous managers in work.

Nice of the TFL show to not even mention the 1st v 3rd game coming up this weekend though...

Love for us to sack Bowyer and bring in Warnock. He'd get the best out of the squad we've got.
I think the main problem for a club like Bradford who are chasing promotion is that it sounds like Warnock only wants to see out this season, then retire. So you'd be left looking for a new manager in the summer and likely squad rebuild. Might be too high a cost to pay for the boost to your promotion chances seeing as you expect to be in or around the automatic places in any case. It would be like saying, your chance to get promoted increases but your chances of surviving in League One the following season decrease. Probably more attractive to a relegation fighting club or a mid-table club.

Big fall from grace as your fans were raving a few weeks ago about him but the form speaks for itself I guess.

Calderwood has been let down by the structure of the club and them pulling funds when promised. Once that happened our form went south as the buck stops with the manager.

We need to get away from this head coach and get a proper manager in.

At the end of the Carlisle debacle, the SouthStanders conducted an impromptu demonstration 'Cooper Out'
I noticed that Chairman Vince watched it very intently.
There does seem to be a groundswell to change the manager, not for the first time, but Dale stood firm then and FGR achieved the play-offs.
One never knows Dale's mind. He sacked previous manager Ady Pennock on the eve of FGR playing in promotion play-offs.

Probably checking the faces so he can tell the stewards who can and can't come in at the next home game. :shut:

form is woeful but I think there’s other factors than just the manager being shit, the structure at the club simply isn’t working, it’s been the same for a while and nothing changes.

I’d have liked Calderwood to have stayed with Bonner(assistant)strang(in charge of recruitment) and Daniels(fuck knows what this bloke actually does) get the boot, also doesn’t help with our owner living in the states and out of touch with the club.

In a nutshell it’s a shambles.

Vince has never been swayed by what the South Stand say, especially since some want him out too lol.

Cooper won't be sacked because of fan pressure, it will only happen if he has lost the players/staff behind the scenes. Like Hockaday and Pennock did. How we react on Saturday will say a lot, play like we've given up and the clocks ticking.

Can't say I'm suprised that Calderwood has gone, the form speaks for itself - especially their home form and two 4-0 defeats in a row is never ever a good sign, we managed three goals against them as well. The sacking was coming IMO, even if he did sign a contract extension.

The funny thing is, I know Ling wanted him a few months ago when his stock was alot higher, our fans are now discussing amongst themselves if this was a near miss on our part after CC decided not to join us apparently..........

Calderwood didn't become a bad manager over night. There are problems behind the scenes and it filtered down to the pitch. CC chucked his toys out the pram when funds were pulled for players he wanted. Instead he got players recommended by our head of recruitment.

CC downed tools after IMO and was waiting to get the boot.

Head of recruitment. Stupidest job in football, surely should be part of the managers job. We've got one, Andy Burgess. Hopefully he got sacked with Dempster but not sure.

absolutely, perhaps I’m to much of a dinosaur but for me part of a managers job is recruiting, it just leads to problems when there’s to many chiefs imo.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see him at orient in time for next season, he’s a good manager given the tools to do so, just needs a better structured club which orient definitely are at present.

What has gone wrong at your place ? Clearly the League table doesn't lie but you tore us a new one at your ground and it was a 2-1 massacre.
Best team i've seen all season based on the 90 minutes.

His stock is reducing every season Mr Hurst.

It’s clear that clubs are starting to panic about Carlisle having a slight chance of staying up after seeing us put together back to back wins.

A slight chance ? Presumably tongue in cheek but i'm not so sure.
I'd say an absolute certainty. 10 points clear and have to be overtaken by 5 clubs .

Certainly wasn't me doing the raving. Not once in his time here did I think he was the right manager for us, in fact, I'll go further and say not once did I think he was a good manager full stop.

Good managers are those that walk into any club in the land and do a good job with the players there, as good or poor they happen to be. So in short, not even the likes of Pep should deserve to be called good managers cos all they've ever down was only down to having millions of dosh to spend as they like and whenever they want to.

Injuries and bad luck has killed us recently. Two games we've lost due to bullshit red cards which is frustrating.

Our chairman has told Hurst he can't make anymore signings and he's walked by the sounds of it.

We are in big trouble.

With Calderwood and Hurst gone, every single one of the bottom 11 sides has now changed manager.

From the outside looking in, this seems like it's totally on the manager. No, not the injuries or the bad luck in some games.

But in that he wants to sign more players when by my count, you have 25+ contracted professionals, plus a few more in on loan. He wants more players yet won't play the likes of Ryan Colclough, who would be one of the best players in the league if the manager played him. So he has an iffy attitude, deal with it. Rather use him and have him contribute than alienate him to prove a point. Plus he signed Butler in the summer to probably not cheap wages and now he's sat on your bench.

I mean, you aren't going down barring an incredible turn of events. So write the season off, trim the squad down, get rid of who you can and then build for next season. Seems daft to try and force in more quick fixes for no long term benefit.
