The thing is they don’t get to show they are “good enough” as they don’t get in the interview room in the first place is the issue the rule tries to solve.

The last couple of weeks have shown just how many racists in this country are hiding in plain sight. Out of the 92 chairman in the FL odds are there's at least one of them who may do exactly that.I’m sorry, but i just can’t believe any owner would base his appointment on a racial basis. There are huge numbers of white ex players wanting a crack at management that don’t get a sniff.
Are people really advocating a quota system?

Rumour suggests Ian Evatt is on his way to Bolton.
Bolton have definitely talked to his agent, but I think they've baulked at the cost of compensation. It's definitely more than the £120k quoted in the Bolton News - probably double that. Not sure how much he would want to work with a director of football doing the recruitment either.
Bolton's financial situation will become clearer when they have made an appointment, but I reckon they are on the bones of their arse.
I hope so mate, but got a bit worried about the hints from our supposed ITKs on our forum this afternoon, although sometimes you don't know whether it is a wind up or not.
I can't help but feel it would be a real kick in the teeth if we lose him straight after promotion. But this is Barrow, you've got to take the rough with the smooth. I reckon he would've moved on if we had missed out on promotion, which would have been far, far worse.
Wouldn't be a great move for Evatt, in my opinion. If he's looking to take that next step then he'd be better served keeping some consistency and staying with Barrow in L2.
Trying to take that next step at a Club like Bolton, at least in their current state, would be a disaster.
They obviously tried Lowe, and at one point he was the bookies clear favourite. Suspect we would have wanted a lot more than £120k for a manget who has got out of this division twice, and was on a three year contract.Bolton have definitely talked to his agent, but I think they've baulked at the cost of compensation. Too much smoke to suggest there's no fire with this one IMO. If they pay the compensation, he's gone.
Michael Jolley interviewed for the Bolton job. Hope he gets it. Obviously, we have the best manager in the division now so I'm pleased with how things have turned out but the point remains that Jolley was sacked harshly for a bullshit reason while operating under difficult circumstances for a joke board.

Only interviewed, Heckingbottom has also applied so I doubt he'll get it to be honest. Fair comment regarding Hanson, we did become quite a lot more reliant on hoofing when he came in. That's more of a reflection on Jolley than Hanson mind, Hamez has a decent touch and In reckon we'll see him kick on under Ollie. He wasn't really that angry either Jolley, it was just towards the end when the pressure that started getting to him.Michael fucking Jolley eh?
Very angry man, but be good to see him back. Seemed to try and play decent football, at least until you signed Hanson anyway.
Let's see how long before he has another epic break down/rant. Bolton won't be an easier place to work I wouldn't have thought.
The problem is, even if he doesn't go to Bolton which is up in the air as the compo is a sticking point, the circus is just going to repeat itself when the inevitable sack race starts a month into the season.
I'd be disappointed if he didn't have a season with us in L2, but it seems obvious that his head has been turned. However I can't thank him enough for what he's done so far. If we get the composition we are looking for, I'm starting to think it would be the best for all parties that he moved there.
Strangely enough if we are going to need a new manager I'd rather it be now where he has a transfer window to work with.
Totally agree with the point that now is a good time for us to get a new boss in. But we have to stick to the agreed fee - at least then every club coming in for him knows the price and knows we won't budge.
