If he does go to Bolton I wouldn’t expect him to be there by the end of the season, better off where he is in my opinion and wait for a more stable job.

Depends what you mean by better off. He'd surely be better off financially at Bolton despite their problems in recent years. Even if he doesn't last the season he'd get a payoff which would likely be more than he gets at Barrow.

He's maybe thinking he has to go now while his stock is high. If he waits a few months into the season and Barrow have an average start to the season or worse, he'll have quite possibly missed the boat.

In the short term it would make financial sense to him I guess, if it goes tits up at Bolton though (which it will again), then he’ll be back to looking for jobs in the national league.

Alternatively Bolton is a no-lose situation for a manager, especially one with no League experience. Big club will look good on a CV regardless of them being in League Two, money will be better, and you're less likely to be personally blamed for poor results if the club you manage at is a basket case behind the scenes.

True but Bolton is such an odd situation that it’ll be difficult to gauge any potential success or failure.

What is the beef with Bolton since their buy out? Assume they will be bookies favourites but could they really struggle again?

They’re whining about the compo so it’s doubtful they’ll have a big budget.

Another shite season I reckon.

Because Barrow want £250,000 for a manager who won non league.

Another shite season I reckon.
We'll see. New manager will have the chance to build his own team (we have retained 11 players). For the first time in ages we have money to spend on wages (embargo won't allow us to spend on transfers and have a weekly wage limit of £2000p/w per player), reckon that must be more than most players earn in league 2?

Most top clubs in league two probably have a few on or above that I’d have thought, certainly in terms of forwards.

Pope was on around £4K in our promotion season but less now.

I read that that was the wage limit in League 1? The wage limit in League 2 is surely a lot less.

Our budget last season was £1.8m. Confirmed by Wellens.

Our budget won't be confirmed until we've emptied the drinks machine in reception and had a chance to check the pockets of jackets we haven't worn in a few months.

Quick guess 20 under contract plus 5 loans. Obviously some of those 20 were youth teamers.

I think the new owners borrowed against the Club and other assets have charges over them as well (seemingly by administrators).

Seems the right place to post this.

Crawley have released their two coaches. Edu Rubio and Jon Meeney.

They were appointed by the previous manager so not a great shock but they always seemed to be spoken well off so its a bit of a shame....for us its a shame. It's probably very worrying for them to lose their jobs at this time.

Campbell has left Southend.
He needs to choose his next job well because that'st twice he's gone into basket case clubs, which is admirable to a point but no an ideal starting point for a new manager.

And come out of neither will any decent level of reputation for being a good manager.

Evatt has officially gone to Bolton.

Good move for both parties IMO.

Blow for Barrow, but Keith Hill would be a good experienced replacement for them - plays the game in a similar way to Evatt as well.

Keith Hill would be an excellent appointment in my opinion, just not sure he’ll want it.

Who do Barrow fans want? An experienced EFL manager, someone from non league or another young rookie?

Do you want to know the latest rumour? He left Barrow because he's been doing the dirty with a local cokehead journo. The pic is doing the rounds now...

It really does feel like we've narrowly avoided a shitshow and got paid £250k for it.

Post the picture or point in the right direction. I’ve tried to have a look for it on twitter but nothing.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I like the idea of getting Steve Watson in from York. He did a great job with Gateshead and was talked about highly when he was assistant at Macclesfield too.

All of the early names on SkyBet are from the Barrow forum, so complete guesses. Wouldn't want Fowler or anyone like that.

Mickey Mellon in the frame for the Dundee Utd job.

Steve McClaren turned it down this week.

Putting 2 and 2 together...... Barrow need a manager......want someone who plays total football......who better to do that then a Dutchman?
