Of course you don’t.

That is absolute northern behaviour.
Oops. I'm not fat and I'm not a bloke but I've packed 3 AFC Wimbledon shirts for my jaunt across South Wales including the new away one when I visit Dave tomorrow.

You haven’t a clue what’s being thrown at the squad by the Radfords in recent years because you’ve been fucking about playing Maidenhead after that disaster of a season you chucked around six figure transfer fees only to get relegated so let’s not pretend otherwise.

Fuckin ell, touched a very sensitive nerve there. What has us playing Maidenhead got to do with you repeatedly blowing promotion despite spending an absolute fortune?

What’s footballing ability got to do with management ability? Hughes would destroy this division with his eyes shut if it went on playing ability, and sir Alex would have been managing Morecambe all his career.
Yeah there are instances where it doesn’t matter but Challinor was awful when he got to us. Must have been learning how to be a manager there and then instead of playing football.

Poster on a Rovers forum with contacts to Challinor says that while Stockport refused an approach over the summer, they were actively encouraging him to go for the Charlton interview. DC getting the impression those in charge at Stockport want him out.

Challinor got treated shabbily by our owner so he might have thought he can't be arsed with all that shite again.

Otherwise of course it's a no brainer, good size club currently struggling. With decent owners and a vision he goes there.

Seeing how Fleetwood have just sacked Scott Brown and we've had 2 departures in L1 already, who do we think will be the first manager officially sacked in L2?

Got to be Dawes surely?

I think Palios will give him longer than he should as doesn’t want to be proved wrong on an appointment again if he can get out of it. Also read he’s out of the country for a few weeks. Dawes probably gets another month to turn it around so anyone firing this month would beat us to it.

Why was he even appointed? I notice he's managed Floriana and Bangor before, is he mates with the Vaughan?

All seems very odd.

Cheap option?
Don't know re Vaughan, but if so, he doesn't choose his pals well.
He had a decent spell as caretaker after Mike Jackson was sacked, albeit only for a handful of games. Didn't make much impression when he was given the job on a caretaker basis after Mellon's sacking, we were linked with a few, but then Dawes was announced. Mark Palios seems to like having an involvement with the footballing side of the club, when many feel a Chair should be more hands off in that respect. The SWA were not impressed, hence Tom Davies signing a new deal announced the same day and Nigel Adkins as Technical Director shortly afterwards as sweetners. Though how much involvement Adkins has is debatable.

Aside from whether a club the size of Tranmere need a technical director, having one as historically as successful as Adkins with a manager who er isn’t seems like a recipe for disaster.

Dawes seems like a man massively out of his depth.

Stockport County.
He is one miserable looking fella that Tranmere gaffer.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Challinor there before the end of the season. I hope not but I think we may. Our team has creases that don't look like they can be ironed out to me and I think he will pay for it. Hope I'm wrong, he's been great for us and is a very solid football manager.

While I think Dawes is out of his depth and wouldn’t be upset to see him go, would expect he’ll get to the end of the month to turn things around.

Win on Saturday and Tranmere could suddenly go on a run and keep the manager in a job but of course lose and it could be the chop for him.
Could be a real sliding Dawes moment.

With an owner in jail, surely you'd steer well clear of Fleetwood as surely their long term future is insecure. If he continues to do well with us there'll be far better opportunities than that coming up either this season or next.

We wanted £250k off Bolton when they poached Evatt with two years left on his contract. Wild has four years left. Not sure their proceeds of crime can stretch to £500k+.

How are they even still funding themselves? The club lost £2.9m in their last accounts, the parent company hasn't filed financial statements despite them being overdue in August. Just opened a new Cat 2 academy, got a 37 player squad list, probably still on the hook for various sacked manager's salaries. How are they still solvent?

Despite the owner obviously going to be sent down Fleetwood spent some serious money in the summer so somehow I think they will continue to be bankrolled.

Love to see them disappear back in to non-league.

codaplenty can probably shed a little more light on it, but you do wonder how long it'll be until the SFO/Police etc step in.

I presume it’s because Appleton plays easy on the eye on the football and has the personality of warburtons bread so he can play nicely with corporate structures cos as a manager he’s done fuck all to keep on landing good jobs
Appleton appointed Charlton manager now. It never ends.

The rumour our end was that Barnsley came in and he rejected them and got himself an extended contact off the back of that.

Owner has also asked for less hoof ball this season and more goals/exciting football. Problem is now we can’t keep clean sheets.

I hope today is the start of us going on a good run and DC sticks around because despite his faults he’s done really good job overall and poor recruitment and the never ending injury list we’ve had since March have really hampered him.

It was clear from his interview after our game there first day of the season, that he wouldn't see out the decent weather.
