The Board of Directors at Morecambe Football Club have written the following open letter to Bond Group.

Dear Jason,

We are writing this open letter to reiterate what was said to you during the meeting we held with you today, during which you updated us on the critical matters of funding and the sale of the Football Club.

Sadly, your future funding assurances have now failed to come to fruition so often that, in the absence of substantial funds from Bond Group landing in the Morecambe Football Club account, they come across as meaningless, and we must take them as such in order to be responsible.

As for the Middle East-based potential buyer you first told us was interested in buying the Club approximately a year ago, you have provided no tangible evidence or introduction during this time to enable us to consider them serious or credible.

You have one apparently serious offer on the table from a US-based potential buyer which, based on what we know, is the most credible which has been made since you placed the Club up for sale over 20 months ago.

Please accept this second offer now, so that there is a chance that a sale might be completed, and a catastrophic outcome be avoided.

From the Board of Directors of Morecambe Football Club.

Saturday evening saw the Shrimps Trust launch a GoFundMe scheme, entitled ‘Save Our Shrimps’.

At present, the club has no manager, no CEO, only five players on its books, was deducted three points this season, saw April’s wages delayed and has had to deal with an HMRC-related embargo, in addition to having been up for sale since September 2022.
Hope someone saves Morecambe.

They were always my non league side to look out for before getting into the league. I think this stems from the Bradford-on-Sea nickname that the town of Morecambe got due to the hoardes of Bradford folk who spent their annual holidays there before foreign travel became more accessible to the working class.

Derek Adams back for a third stint at Morecambe it seems. Still think the job he has on is bigger than the one 12 months ago, but I do think that shakes up the relegation battle down at the bottom somewhat.

Out of nowhere....Derek is back. Over the moon to be honest, I had no idea who would even come near us due to the obvious situation.

Something must have happened financially for the King to return, because the ownership stuff was the reason he left in the first place. Hopefully we get some more news in the next 24 hours and Jason has finally sold the club.

Fingers crossed.

Good appointment for Morecombe despite my dislike for the man, that said as he always does he will leave them at the first sign of a better offer, it shows just how desperate they must be to constantly take him back like a cheating ex.

Adams and Morecambe are basically the new Martin Allen and Barnet at this point.

Hopefully for them it’s a a sign there may be light at the end of the tunnel for their off field issues. If not I’m sure Adams will be letting people hear about it in due course.

He'll be at Ross County again within 18 months, then back to Morecambe. It's all he ever does.
Whilst constantly telling fans of both clubs how lucky they are to have him.

We've been gone that long I just assumed Jim Bentley was still manager at Morecambe. Tell me Barry Roche still keeps?!

Looks like a sacking to me. Failed at pretty much every club since he f**ked us over. Cant say im too gutted for him.

I never knew Newport was so close to Sheffield either...

Worst manager we’ve ever had, grateful Covid came when it did so we got 6 months off watching it whilst he was here.

Odd timing mind, bet the players will be back in for training in the next couple of weeks? Newport likely to struggle this season ?

It's been a while since we parted company with Coughlan and still havn't replaced him, our new owner want's to go down the road of head coach and not manager though who that is likely to be i don't know, we have appointed a lead coach who is Nelson Jardim from portuguese side Boa Vista who i don't think would have taken the job on if he did'nt know who he would be working under so we still wait with baited breath to find out who our new head coach will be.

Seems a brave new world for Newport this. Be interesting to see how you get on, hope you do well, your fans are sound.

Still seems exotic when a lower league team get a foreign coach. Who was that Yugoslavian fella Stockport had?

Darije Kalezic. Manages now at a ADO Den Haag which is a decent-ish Dutch club who now play in the 2nd tier. We made him the man he is today.

So apparently we can't announce our new head coach until after the euros as he is under contract with one of the tv companies as an analist, that would put only one person in the frame "Ashley Williams" and it would make scence with the Swansea connection to Huw Jenkins and the fact that he worked with Jardim at Swansea when they were player and coach there under Jenkins, so we should find out on Monday.

Gonna put a tenner on tomorrow for the first manager sacked.

I'm going for David Artell at Grimsby Town at the moment.

Can anybody convince me otherwise?
