Bit of a blow for Macclesfield, think he'd have had them lower end of mid table this season, well above where they should be considering. He will definitely get a bigger job now and can't be blamed for walking if he's not been paid for months.

No job is bigger than Sol.

Just remembered we still don't have a manager, bet his application is already in Chansiri's office.

Someone reckons he is your next manager.

I’m not convinced though - I think he left due to not being paid for months.

Btw, you could argue that Macclesfield's owners were, by not actually paying him, treating him like a slave. Racists.

Anyone taking a gamble on him needs to think long and hard. Yes, he did a good job at Macc, but lets be real here. He was under zero pressure to achieve anything. Getting the Macc players to buy into the siege mentality and beating out 2 incredibly woeful teams in Notts County and Yeovil isn't that impressive. I don't blame him from walking away, but lets see how he does at a club with actual expectations and a proper owner.

Keeping Macclesfield up wasn’t that impressive? Ok

Mentality alone doesn’t keep a shit side up

Martin Allen kept Barnet up a few times. Does that make him a good manager? Maybe I'm under selling his achievement. We'll find out soon enough just how good he is when he gets another job and has to perform. My money is still on him crashing and burning.

I'd say his biggest achievement has been his recruitment over the summer in spite of our off field troubles. I honestly can't believe how well he's got us playing in these opening fixtures and it's such a shame we'll never get to see how far he could have taken us this season. Hopefully his departure shines a spotlight on the scandalous fashion in which the club is run.

What is it with clubs from that part of the world not paying wages?

I'd like to see Danny Whitaker get the job now. Bit of consistency could be valuable especially as we're playing well at the moment. That's assuming he's not left along with the other lead coaches of course.

It's nowhere near that many.

Think Campbell will have earnt himself another shot somewhere else based on this, so will be interesting to see how he does. Seems to have a bit too much of a chip on his shoulder to handle a higher pressure job, but we'll see.

Abo Eisa confirmed. Should be a solid replacement for Adam Hamill who I expect to leave soon

Martin won a league with us and with Gillingham, so I’d say that he was a good manager..

I think Campbell did alright. Macc were 4 points adrift when he came in and they had their stuff going on behind the scenes just like Notts.. okay not at bad but i think he deserves a chance with a club that can allow him to concentrate on the football side.

Macc's issues are not uncommon for lower league clubs, albeit out owners are bigger fuckwits than most.
Sol needed to adapt to training on a field and not having funds for posh pre season tours and wasn't able to.

I'd be interested in how much the shocking statement yesterday influenced his decision.

No but having your best players come back from injury in the run in and only having to get 1 more point than the aforementioned dream teams of Yeovil and Notts does. Campbell deserves nowhere near the praise be gets for last season.
