They must be soooo deep in the shit financially to keep doing this for the Premiership.

Thought you might have started down the right path, when you brought in Edwards - kind of a step back to go forwards, build some foundations and accept some short term “finding yourselves” for some potential long term stability, but that didn’t last long.
That was the CEO’s comments which were well supported but not by the owners who sacked Edwards and appointed Bilic .

We hardly hear from the former now.

Probably had his nose put out of joint and hold to keep quiet !

It just seems an insane way to run your club. The compensation Watford pay out for all these managers they've fired alone must be through the roof.

Must be bonus related to some extent?

Mind you don’t think they announced how long a contract Bilic was on.

Edwards was on a 2 year deal .

I agree though - goodness knows his much has been wasted .

Guess the only thing you can say is at this point any manager who takes the job knows it’s a stopgap at best. Problem is first thing I’d be doing is telling my agent to make the severance package as generous as possible.

Suppose Watford for as long as they keep yo-yoing between Championship and Prem the owners will get away with it. If have a few seasons where fighting down the other end of the table or maybe even drop to L1 supporters tolerance will diminish quickly.

I think the tolerance is already going !

Since our PL days definitely is more expectation and demand for “success “

Many will see this season as a failure unless we somehow win the play offs .

Partly why there was pressure on BIlic in the first place .

As I say on it’s own merits fans have been asking for a change over a few weeks .

If we start to struggle crowds will dip to 13/14k as they were before the Pozzos came in .

Will admit we have a lot of fair weather fans !

Joke of a club. Fans now as self entitled as the owners it would seem, our resident fan not withstanding. Wonder what Graham Taylor would have made of what the club has become nowadays.

Italian clubs have been run this way for decades. Instant results, or bye bye. Chelsea aren't too dissimilar.

For the most part, it's worked well for Watford.

One or two did suggest him as a manager before being shot down.

I am sure if Wilder doesn't start well then loses to the Luton guys fans will be putting him under pressure.

Thanks bTW!

There are issues at the club with poor recruiting and a board that seems to be at odds with each other - rumours of fall outs etc.

But I do actually think some fans are a bit hypercritical really - they've been calling for Bilic to go for ages so cannot really complain he has now.

Bit like loads wanted Munoz out (some didn't want him in..) after about 6 Premier league games having got us promoted then of course he did go and well we probably got worse and appointed even less suitable managers.

And they should know we only appoint out of work managers and usually end up with one old school English manager a season.

Fair point - till about 2019 when we at least had a manager for a season or maybe if they basically walked out like Marco Silva 2.

But we seem to now have 3 a season with very little success out of it.

I would have to state NJ isn't a bad manager and would, if given the time, do a good job but that's not saying Wilder wouldn't. But Watford do need to stick with a manger so maybe it is the board that have to go? Otherwise the playing staff are just going to hangout until they meet a manager with their concerns in balance and that will never happen across the whole squad. Watford are being held to ransom from top and bottom.

If Jones went to Watford in the summer, as he was rumoured to be the second choice before Wilder joined, he'd be making the same mistake three times.

Going to an unstable club with a lot of prima donnas on the pitch, with a hire and fire ownership.

Yes but the pay-out after must be worth it (if you get a longer contract) I guess they don't have any real plans with Wilder and he must be on a 'garden leave' kind of contract with no aspirations of success./

Seems odd but then it’s a Watford manager so that’s the default. He has fairly distinct style of play that needs a certain type of player. To date Watford have shown entirely zero interest in any kind of cohesive recruitment strategy, outside of a lot of individual talent that doesn’t mesh as a team.

Yes basically the club buy whoever and just expect the manager to get on with it.

Martin set to be appointed at Southampton seemingly.

Bit like you say with some players think there is a decent manager there somewhere, he's got a clear style and vision which he doesnt deviate from - almost to a fault at times - but seems a bit of a "project manager" who has never actually seen a project through yet, but has fallen upward each time.

It might yet click fully at a big club like Southampton who id expect to spend to get back into the Premier League next season but also wouldnt surprise me if he got swallowed by his own ideology. We had a decent record against his sides because its just obvious what you need to do to beat them.

Scott Parker to Leicester ?

For a man with 2 promotions from this league he doesn’t actually seem that popular with the fans of Fulham or Bournemouth.

Isn't that because money is laundered through the respective clubs owned by Twatfruads current regime?
