Looks like we’re close to appointing Eustace. Although I was never anti-Warne, I can’t lie that I never thought a manager like him would’ve been possible. He’s an excellent choice for us as a club for both the short and long-term.

We have 11 of the bottom 13 teams to play in our last 15. He has plenty of opportunities to pick up points, but hope we can do enough.

Looks as though Eustace is done although Matt Hamshaw will be in charge of the team for the Oxford game tomorrow night. I expect an announcement tonight or tomorrow - interested to hear who will make up his backroom staff.

Big game tomorrow, a win on the back of Eustace joining could really swing momentum in our favour - a loss (or even a draw) makes the task that much harder.

I’m pleased in the short term for this appointment. I see him going into a situation that was similar to those he walked into with Birmingham and Blackburn and both survived in their respective seasons. Both clubs he then progressed to challenge the play offs until he chose to leave/got sacked. It’s debatable whether he has the know how to get promoted but that is next weeks problem and a luxury thought right now.

If I were a Blackburn fan, I think it says more about the Venkys that we can get him here and I’d be furious. That is what, 3 managers now leaving when in a great opportunity to get in the promotion mix. It’s not just about money, it’s about the plans that they have for the club - it’s a vision that the club invests into. It’s quite obvious that it’s not happening for the club and I’d be questioning the board on this one when you compare our circumstances.

Regarding Eustace - he’s obviously confident in his own ability to turn us around. We’ve got a good set up in our academy (u18s are 3rd in prem I believe, the club is still being rebuilt after admin so a good opportunity to contribute to the way the football club operates.
