It's been poisonous at home for the majority of the season, so I expect much worse on Saturday.

The funny thing is, for a side needing a win to get back into form, Bournemouth at home is a bit of a dream game. You're safe, and you seem to have took your foot off the gas in the last few games. But having said that, we recently played Palace and Watford, who you would have said the same about and we couldnt beat them either. We've won of our last 9 League games...that was at Villa...and only 1 home win since November...that was against Newcastle!

Why not look at someone like Eddie Howe?

I also think Howe will be another Moyes, but we have money to invest now and I would like to have someone in who has experience of spending money and, most importantly, putting it to good use.

Howe is cut from the same cloth as Martinez, it's all about attacking with pace, the defence sorts itself out as long as you keep attacking. If Everton wanted Martinez but (IMHO) better, then that's Howe. If Everton want somebody to address their defence, then that's very much not Howe.

Totally agree and I think Howe would be daft to go to Everton anyway. He's in a sound position at Bournemouth because of what he has achieved, particularly this season, and I imagine even with the standard tough 2nd season in the PL he will remain backed by his bosses and the Bournemouth fans. If he went to Everton, he would be under pressure to improve their situation from word go and with him not having 'big club' experience I'm not sure he would cope with the pressures coming from the supporters, particularly those who feel Everton should be competing regularly for a top 4 spot.

For me, Everton need to go big on their next appointment with a manager who is well known and has enjoyed success with a big club from a decent European league. Hopefully for them, the new shareholder will be thinking along the same lines as I feel that if it is left to Kenwright he will simply go back after Moyes and I really can't see it being the match made in heaven that it was first time around

I can't comment on Martinez, but Howe's view is that defenders first and foremost are there to start the patterns of play and retain possession, because that's how Howe himself played CB. Howe's defenders need to comfortable on the ball first and foremost, physicality and defensive robustness comes second, because as long as the whole side back to front can retain possession and move the ball around well, they won't need to defend much.

When Howe has drilled a side for months and month and it all works, it's absolutely beautiful. But sometimes in reality it's not hard to see that it has flaws which get ruthlessly exposed, for example when we come up against a top 6 side this season.

Regarding the backroom staff, that's another issue Howe would have elsewhere. At AFCB, Howe controls everything at the club top to bottom, he appoints everyone from first team to under 10s, controls the way every age group train and are coached, our entire club is built around Howe and moves to his beat. No other club, especially a bigger club, would ever give one individual such power. It would be quite a culture shock for him I feel.

He'd be a fantastic appointment I reckon, just what they need, providing Everton fans could get over his Liverpool background. Possession football is certainly how I like to see football being played and the fact is, if you keep the ball for 99% of the match, you won't lose. The reality is, however, that this will never happen and at some point you are going have to be able to defend not just in a physical manner but in a tactical and an organisational manner as well. The latter is probably where teams struggle more so when they are managed by someone who prefers to concentrate on the attacking nature of the team and yes particularly against teams with higher quality players.

Regarding your last paragraph, I don't actually see that as being a major issue to be honest and I would be surprised if the top clubs don't allow their first team management to have a say in who coaches and how they coach their youth teams. The future of England coaching revolves around how older youth players are coached (under 15s upwards) and how they can be taught at that age to play in a style that the first team manager wants the first team to play so that when these youngsters step up they can fit into the first team system easily. I see no reason why this can't be extended down the age groups but obviously some of the work would have to be adapted to suit the age groups as talking about transition and other technical aspects to 10 year olds probably won't work. Yes, with Bournemouth being a smaller club I can imagine Howe having a say in pretty much everything, but I think you'd be surprised at the level of control first team managers have over youth coaching at most clubs

I didn't mean Howe would have us playing like Moyes but he is a safe 'lets keep us midtable ' option. We need to have a go and Bielsa or Pellegrini are better choices.
