As are we. The lack of backbone in our team is pathetic.

Blades will be hacked off they didn't add to their goal tally

We are a completely different side to the team that was getting popped 4-0 every week at the start of the season. Feel for Cov fans at their situation but they look like a side who are going to be down there if nothing changes. We really should of put that game to bed in the first twenty but got it done in the end.

End of September. It was a fluke position tho tbh, suspensions, injuries, bad management shows our true position. Need someone in who can take charge and rid of all the crap.

Bury were possibly the worst side I've seen at the Mem since Alfreton at the end of the 14/15 season. Worrying that we conceded two to that crock.

To be fair Rovers were very ordinary today and if playing one of the better sides would have lost. It was definitely a paper over the cracks result. Although the score should have been a lot higher in our favour.
What can I say about Bury. Well you had eleven persons on the pitch ( well up to the last 5 mins ) And your number 10 was better than all your other players. Other than that i'm afraid to say you were one of the worst teams I have seen in 50 + years of watching professional football.

We've lost the last 11, and had a very make shift defence. You should have beaten us much more easily.

Probably, but not massively high on confidence ourselves at the moment.

Did feel for the young CB for you lot, was clearly shattered by the end. Hopefully new manager and signings will see a turnaround.

5-2 win. We weren't great, and we missed Maddison, but a win is a win.

Great to see Nichols scoring twice...seems like he's proving his worth this season?

I like him. He works hard and offers a lot more than goals, but a lot of Posh fans are frustrated at his lack of consistent goal scoring.

His problem is he's had Mackail-Smith, McLean, Gayle, Assombalonga etc all before him and unfortunately, a lot of our fan base expect us to have a striker as prolific as them all the time.

I reckon he'll find his feet though, he's certainly on the way to doing so.

Bolton away tomorrow night, we'll lose.

Not because Bolton are necessarily better than us (they probably are, but we have enough matchwinners in our side to give anyone a game) but rather because it's on Sky, and we've won 1 in the last 13 we've played on tv - including two cup defeats at Brackley.

Can't wait for the Sky presenters to take the piss out of our away following like they did at Wigan at the start of the year. If only there was a reason why we won't take a lot. Fucking morons.

Yeah I can imagine as you've been spoilt with top quality strikers in recent years. Nichols probably lacks a yard of pace to be capable of making a career beyond L1. He is a decent finisher though and if he's given opportunities he'll score a decent total this season.

Summed up pretty well, you definitely should have had more in the first half, defensively we are a shambles and not much better going forward. It was so easy for Southend to get past our defenders. Most exciting part of the day was a fight after the 3rd goal in the cov end, some decent punches landed from what I could see.

Next up Sheff utd, should be fun.

A few saying their team is guaranteed to go down, gonna be some awful teams staying up!

I thought our defence was shaky but Bury's back 4 are even worse. I know they have a lot of injuries but oh dear. I cannot see them getting any points if they carry on defending like that.

We should have been 2 up early on when both Taylor an Gaffney went through on goal with just the keeper to beat. However I thought it might be one of those days when Bury took the lead against the run of play.

Thankfully it did look just a matter of time before we scored and we twice benefitted from poor defending to lead 2-1 at the break.

When Ollie Clarke smashed in number 3 that should have been game over but as usual we made life difficult and let Bury pull one back. Thankfully we soon got the 4th to wrap up the points.

Deserved win. 57% possession, 15 shots to Bury's 8, 9 on target to Bury's 2, 9 corners to Bury's 4.

Having said all that we didn't play anywhere near our best and still look very poor at the back. We benefitted from playing a team in disarray.

Shrewsbury may be bottom but I think we'll have to play a lot better to come back from there with 3 points next week.
