Seems like we've 'done a Leeds'

Adults only
Cheapest tickets
Kop
Cheapest
£20*
Dearest
£45*

North/Grandstand
Cheapest
£20*
Dearest
£48*

South
Cheapest
£20*
Dearest
£52*

* members get a £5 ticket reduction on these prices

Bristol C fans, you're a Category B so looking at £39 for adults, that is fucking obscene.

Just seen them. Absolutely pathetic. Im afraid nobody in sheffield will be paying those prices you will do well to sell another 2k on the gate what is the chairman thinking

There won't be more than 1,000 City fans there now, and even if there are 1,000, fair play to them. I certainly won't be paying that, unless City choose to subsidise the cost for our fans, I doubt I'll be going.
There was only going to be 1,500 in the first place anyway let's be honest.

Shambolic pricing from SWFC. This is football nowadays folks, it's only the start, better get used to it...

We'd have had close to 3k up there if the prices were reasonable. We'll struggle for 1k now as I said, I'm certainly knocking it on the head.

OK I agree with your stance and I hope many others do to! We won't let them win.

Check your PMs too please

When we do eventually go up and play them again it's gonna cost us £50 fucking quid. Providing they don't go up that is.

Don't see why everyone's crying about these prices, probably will only affect us (we'd still bring 5k) and Leeds for the highest price and anything north of Derby for the other highest options.

If you are are south of Derby and have to pay a bomb, you can afford it anyway, standard of living and all that.

We used to travel well to Wednesday but after playing eachother so many seasons and being on Sky all the time nobody is arsed anymore on either side.

I won't be making the journey down the Penistone line anyways at them prices.

I know they want McGugan but he isn't on that much!

Better pray the Owls have a good season otherwise a 40k (sic) will look very empty.

Same here, especially with 2 juniors as well. It's a pity but I won't be travelling at those prices.
Fair play to Walkley, there's not many fans that would criticise their own club, I tip my hat to you.

Stolen from the Wednesday forum, but this really puts things into context:

1st home game of the season:

Manchester United - £31
Everton - £35
Liverpool - £37
Sheffield Wednesday - £39

:ffs:

The cost of living certainly doesn't make us any better off though (apart from being down South, obviously). A friend of mine has just moved to north Yorkshire (Ripon) and it's definitely cheaper up there. Nice part of the world though.

:ffs:

Liverpool v Bournemouth on a Monday night, televised, their lowest category, the away ticket is £43

Manchester United v Spurs 12.45 ko on tele, £55 for away fans.

Everton v Watford £44/£42/£39

I'm not justifying our prices but putting that post into context.

Rotherham are not taking 5k anywhere at £43 a seat, let's be totally honest now

Wasn't going anyway as I'll be playing cricket but those sorts of prices are rediculous. Maybe it's a cunning plan to remove the away sides fan atmosphere in the hopes of demotivating the opposition :pond:

Sad times where football is being taken away from the common man due to these insane prices being quoted.

The thing is, there is a number of die hards who will. Wednesday, like us and others, are a big club with a small section of fans who will pay crackers prices to go. It's the Ken Bates model of milking the hardcore at the expense of the peripheral fans. The attendances will suffer and is a shame etc etc but someone somewhere will have done the sums and figured out they might be able to make more money this way. Not that I agree with the mentality in any way, in my eye the stadium should be full week in week out

I was really looking forward to going to Wednesday too with the possibility of a 30k gate. Not now.

I'm sure you're right that someone's done the sums, but I've always felt that it's a short term plan. More people in the stadium means more match day income and merchandise sales, more people who might become regular attendees in the future. Maybe people just aren't that price sensitive when it comes to football - some will go regardless of cost, and some have reasons other than price for not going?

I doubt it, otherwise they wouldn't be charging it in the home ends as well.

At this point in time, we'll always take the most we can to Wednesday i.e 5k.

An extra £10 admission fee for us, just means people will have a couple of pints less or train/bus instead of taxi.

Who gives a fuck what Bristol fans think of it?

Outside of your deluded minds you do realise you're not the only team to visit Hillsborough this season don't you?
No, but I can't imagine that many of Wednesday's games will be Category B this season, so the prices may be reasonable for many other games.

I'm sure when Rotherham are in town it will attract a bumper crowd and be a Category A*, but we'll worry about that when we get to it.

That's thing we won't worry or cry about it, we'll just take 5k and have a good day out.

Mate, those prices are fucking ridiculous. You might not say so, because you're being an absolute LAD, and probably looking for a reaction.

Granted, it's not as bad for Rotherham fans, because it's only an 8p bus ride away and factoring in travel expenses really isn't an issue, but imagine if Bristol City decided to start charging those prices? I know for a fact you'd be on 'ere pissing your knickers about it.

This is an issue for everyone though. If fans continue to pay these prices then they will remain. Football is pricing out the common fan in England. They don't put up with this is other countries so why should we.
