Eastleigh 1-1 Wrexham

A decent point but after getting a penalty in the 88th minute I briefly dreamt of 3 points.

Have to say, I expected a lot more from Wrexham. Don't think you really threatened to test Flitney until the penalty when you seemed to jump into life for the final couple of minutes.

Eastleigh looked very decent though, created some very good openings, up until the equaliser I thought it was going to be a thrashing. Jai Reason and Andy Drury looked very very good, and what a strike...

There seems little or no support for Steve Burr and Jon McCarthy on Deva Chat. Radio Essex said we were a team bereft of ideas and that's where we're at with these pair of clowns in charge.
Deva Chat, where they're outraged by seeing one of our players take a phone call in the gym in their own time. Do me a favour.

Burr should be judged more on the next few games rather than this one, Alty, Kiddy & Torquay are games I’d be disappointed to lose where as this was expected really. Today flowed a bit like last week, they were better than us in the first half and we were better than them in the second half.

We conceded two really soft typical Chester goals from corners. The first was an absolute balls up from Hunt, who gave the ball away and then a corner to make up for it. It baffles me why he’s immune from criticism, probably because he just works hard, but he’s been garbage since November.

There were positives, Astles was probably our best performer again and Sam Hughes was excellent when he came on. To be honest I’ve not seen a teenager like him come on and boss it like he did in the second half before. He looked noticeably fitter as well, no doubts at all now in my opinion that he should be starting every week. Alabi also looked to show a bit but lacked a bit of match fitness and sharpness, made some nice runs and looks as if he will hold the ball up well as he’s massive.

Gary Johnson is creating a team at WR that will not be in this noddy league next season. We are far superior. Cheltenham will be crowned champions within 6 weeks - book that double decker!

5 wins in 6, but my word Torquay are bad. Worst side I've seen at Prenton Park for a long time, possibly ever. They don't look to have a prayer of staying up if that's any indication of their usual standard. Note to the referee, Jason something, who is up there with the most inept I've seen in a long time. Torquay should have ended with about 8 players and he missed a blatant punch to the kidney by Norwood on their No.5, who also could have had about 6 yellows by himself.
1 game at a time and see where it takes us.
The problem is that Rovers weren't a great deal better. A couple of excellent goals aside, in the first half we got into decent positions only to waste them and after a promising 10 minutes at the start of the second, lost our way and began sitting deeper and deeper with Norwood left isolated for long periods. After the Torquay goal, the way we failed to kep possession and press when we lost the ball made me think it could be a re-run of the Kidderminster game where we threw away a 2 goal lead. Torquay had a couple of decent players, Barker and the no 14, but don't look like getting out of this mess.

Where do you sit at PP? I didn't think Jason Whiteley was that bad and from my viewpoint in the town end Paddock, didn't see the Norwood punch.

Rovers form is good, but must start killing off games.

You mean The World of Smile Stadium, right?
Anyway, I knew we were gonna lose that one. Especially after FishyMackem cursed us! Still not giving up hope completely but yesterday was a big blow after we had got within touching distance of Forest Green. I don't think the fixture list/postponements have been kind to us at all over the past month or so, but I also realise that sounds like an excuse.

We too have had many postponements which is frustrating but cannot be an excuse. Grimsby aren't out of it but they need to win just about all their fixtures and hope for multiple slip ups from both us and FGR.
An awful long way to go yet but I am much more confident in our quest on the back of these new signings.
We can't get hung up on what FGR do but I understand the frustration from our fans, they've clawed back 4 points in the dying seconds this week. But we too have had similar games/results previously.

Race on!!

We've lost 6 of our last 8 games. Yesterday was all about scrapping for a result. There was a reason Vose wasn't playing or York starting.

Results more important than performances to a degree now so the win was crucial for us. From looking like an outside chance, 2pts per game will almost certainly see us into the playoffs.

With Wrexham, Grimsby, Forest Green, Cheltenham, Gateshead and Lincoln all due to come to Prenton Park our home form will be crucial.

Will it be as good as Mansfield, though?

The arsehole element of the Cheltenham support coming out the woodwork. At least Barnet were humble and Luton had something to shout about.

It's Cheltenham ffs.

I do enjoy beating Grimsby a lot more than I really should.

Easily our best team performance of the season, no one had a bad game. We also showed a physical side that we have been lacking and gave back what they were dishing out

Since Aspin took over we are much improved and have won 6 out of 9 and we have big games against Dover, Eastleigh & Cheltenham coming up so we will know if we have a chance of the playoffs by the end of February.

What exactly is that supposed to mean? Most of our fans have been pretty level headed even if we've been confident of at least challenging for the title since the beginning, as we should do down here with out manager and budget.

As I said, the usual posters on here are sound. It's the new posters that have cropped up over the last week giving it the billy big bollocks.

They are just simple trolls and its nice to see no one's taken their bait :fish:, the majority of Cheltenham fans have been really good posters.

They were never really in it. It's been pretty clear for a long time that the top 2 are head and shoulders above the rest of the league.

Cheltenham have got the easier run in on paper, but we've got momentum and a never say die attitude, plus our pitch has taken and will far less of a battering. If we're still up there at the end of next month, after a load of long away trips, we've got a great chance.

This post is embarrassing (I'm hoping a little tounge in cheek), a little humility please, yes we're doing well but let's not forget where we came from eh.

So terrible the mighty Imps could only manage to score one goal against us in each of our games.
I thought we were far too negative up to the substitutions but that seems to be our tactics right now. We had Rothery and Norburn missing from our midfield today which was a big loss as we just reverted to hoofing to Boyes rather than our usual passing game - a complete waste of time.
We came to life in the last 20 minutes with Dicko up front, he should have been on far sooner given our hoofing. It actually became a contest at that point and pretty much one way traffic until the end, we had plenty of chances to equalise. Disappointed not to come away with a point in the end.
Which Lincoln player did your manager think should have seen red? Your no.12 (Hall? the names on your shirts are tiny!!) only got a booking for 3/4 nasty fouls during the game. Poor game which I thought we used about shaded. Our loanee winger looked decent and great to have Jamie back in defence. Who was the guy who ran on towards the end from the away end? Do you know him Steve?

That's the worry, so far in the league we've lost to all four top half sides visiting PP and only the Beastleigh game falls into the really unlucky category. Unless home form changes drastically, we'll have to win all our aways to make the play-offs.

I think he was referring to the first half when Boyes was clean through in your penalty area and got a shove in the back, i was too far away to see who pushed him though. He's not one to 'fall over' so something went on up there!
No idea who went on the pitch, there were four of them sat at the front on their own, not seen any of them before and i certainly don't want to see him back again, what a prick.
After your bleak run i fully expected us to go at you from the off yesterday and play two up top from the start, even more so with both Rhead and Hearn out. Stupid tactics cost us big time, we looked a handfull with both Dicko and Boyes on together. Dicko would have done a far better job of marking Bush on set pieces too, Jake Lawler had a mare yesterday and failed against Bush every time

Why was it expected. We won 3-1 there last year.

The only time Guiseley had any real threat was in the last 25 mins or so when we probably should have been one more ahead. Think we got nervous the longer the game went on at 1-0 and it was a definite edgy last part of the match as you would expect not winning in 11. I really don't see why the Guiseley manager was moaning about us deserving of a red card, they got away with at least 3 fouls that should have been carded. Not a classic performance from us but 3 welcome points when we didn't have one recognised forward starting the game.
