Looks like he is trying to block the cross and catches the guy. He doesn't take the standing leg but he is a bit late, not a red for me.

You're correct in that it proves it wasn't high. Neither the photo or your video really show how late the challenge was though. Was not there so i can't offer an opinion.

Nah doesn't look as high but it was horribly late.

On second look, would agree that yellow is right.

It also proves Shaun Tuton has the same carpet as me and is a man of style and taste. Either that or he is secreted away in a wardrobe at my house and is banging my Mrs while I'm at work. It's alright though, I'd just throw another blanket over him if I walked in on them. Shaymen 'Til I Die. :bdick:

Midfielder is Rob Sinclair, brother of Stuart who plays for the Gas, possibly our most skilful player and one who we missed towards the end of last season when he was injured. Centre back is Dale Bennett, who was played in that position to cover for injuries but has performed so well that it would seem reckless to return him to the right side of defence. Winger is Elliott Frear and you sum him up perfectly, he is a bit of an enigma, can play blindingly well in some games but be totally anonymous in others. However, in his defence, he is far more on than off this season and is probably the best crosser of the ball in the squad.

mind went blank on remembering Sinclair's name :ffs: , knew it at the weekend and during the game; even watched the gas oxford game on Sunday knowing his brother was there.

Ritchie Sutton's red card against Welling has been overturned and he is available for Saturday against Chester. Right call, but Brabin isn't happy about it. That cheat who dived holding his face needs some sort of action now.

That's the only problem when you get red cards overturned. It gets the player off a ban and fine but it doesn't alter what would have happened on the day if the red card hadn't been shown. There's not much you can do about that though but as you say I hope that some action is taken against the bloke that got him sent off.

Same with refereeing mistakes really. I'm not sure if referees have any action taken against them when they issue a red card wrongly.

Only way of stopping that kind of behaviour is by slapping retrospective bans on it. Clearly only interested in getting our player sent off.

Absolutely agree with you. Somewhat surprisingly, because I can't remember the last time I heard of it being called, the "ungentlemanly conduct" rule is still on the books and was used at the weekend in the higher leagues, albeit one sidedly and not as thoroughly as was due. Referee's should be instructed to use it liberally. That'd sort out shit like Forest Green and Welling. :bdick:

I gather you didn't see the NLP article about us by Stuart Hammonds a couple of weeks back? He quite rightly pointed out what a clean, sporting side we are, both on and off the pitch.

Before anyone points it out, our yellow card tally is irrelevant. Our general conduct, encouraged by Ady Pennock who is big on fair play and demands good behaviour on and off the pitch, is probably the most sporting and well behaved of any side I've seen this season, no arguing with referee's, sly fouls etc.

Welling should be able to retrospectively appeal against Tranmere's goal that came from a corner which thet shouldn't have got. Did igood okd Brabin bring that up in his interview?

No, he didn't. But even if you cancel that corner (and goal) out and we lose the game 1-0, I'd still be saying it was a disgraceful way to behave and that the guy is a cheat. The fact the officials made more than 1 error strengthens Brabin's case that they were poor, does it not?

Sadly that is pretty much the standard of officiating in this league, just have to learn to live with it.
You get the odd good un, but they are pretty rare.

I think the Tranmere fans are finally believing how bad the officials are in this league!

The Welling game is the first where I'd say the officials were really poor. The other games I've seen, no worse than many of those on the league list.

Parkin last season and Racine this season not sent off for violent conduct. Combination of dirty bastards and incompetent officials.

I agree, the officials were poor in the game full stop, not helped by the behaviour of some players. Brabin won't be the first manager to conveniently forget that their side has been on the beneficial side of decisions when complaining about the things going against them. Won't be the last.
