Anyone seen B2TF?

:tw:

The one exception to the amicable Tranmere fans on display tonight was a bloke who chanted "Down with the Chester!" as he passed us after the game.

Less than two weeks down here and they've already stolen our song!

9 points from 12. Scott Rendell injured after 37 minutes. Tranmere and Torquay away done. Three wins in a row. Five goals scored and one conceded.

This league isn't half easy you know. :woo:

Possibly because he was a centre back/midfielder for Winsford and a centre midfielder for us.
But for some reason Brabin doesn't play him there...

Bit like a re-run of the Woking game. Little to choose between the sides again separated by a class goal, set up by Ridehalgh and finished by Andy Mangan. The visitor's best effort was a shot from outside the box turned round the post by Davies just before half-time. Surprised at Halifax's lowly position. They edged the first half but sat back in the second and had a few decent players; the huge no 50 gobbled up almost everything at the back and Whitehouse was a nuisance out wide. For Rovers, the win and the decent crowd were the main pluses, but not strong enough to be confident of going back up with the current squad.

I'm here, what do you want? If you know me from here and other forums (of which I am no longer a member due to artistic differences with the moderators) you'll know that I never hide when the going gets rough. We may be going down but we will be laughing louder and longer about it than you can possibly bear. Aspin is ahead of all of us and has already assembled his team to win Conference North next season. :bdick:

I said I'd take a draw, we just need to make sure we follow it up with a win on Saturday.

Listening to the 1st half there were a lot of similarities to last season, letting a team play, not knowing how to deal with certain players (Hannah sounded phenomenal) and making silly mistakes in defence. I was happy it was only 1-0 at half-time. 2nd half we sounded much better and, whilst Chester had more chances, going by our commentators (who aren't really biased) a point was about right in the end.

Still unbeaten, which is great, but we need to turn draws into wins. That being said, I predicted 11 points for August and we're still on course for that with 3 games to go.

Really, so from your position in the away, the opposite end of the ground in the first half, you clearly saw Fisher attack the Woking box and receive an elbow to the face, a penalty in anyone's books. However I do agree with you, Woking were the better team in the second, certainly not the first, therefore did deserve to win the game, no complaints there from me.

On the substitution agreed, for a start the laws of the game do state once an outgoing player has left the field of play and the oncoming player has entered the substitution is made, therefore Fisher couldn't stay on, but it was the 4th official that had to point that out to the referee who clearly didn't know the rules, however, again, agreed, our bench were very slow to react.

Still sticks in the throat though, knowing we ended at one point with 4 midfielders on the park, and then having to change the shape and formation because someone made a huge balls up, certainly didn't;t help our cause.

But even so, common sense should have prevailed. It was a ridiculous, stupid situation. The fourth official put the wrong number up. It was frustrating as I didn't feel Woking were going to score prior to the sub. We completely lost the plot afterwards.

Fully expected a 0-3 loss so bloody delighted with result. Hopefully gives us the confidence to start climbing the table.

Disappointed with a draw given our position after the first half, gifted Cheltenham an early 2nd half equaliser. Terrible decision from our keeper.

50/50 second half, either team could have taken the lead, but we should have been 2 up in the first. Hannah missing a one on one.

Ross was denied a wonderful goal in the second by a great save from Phillips too. Half volley on the edge of the box tipped wide, Phillip was initially going the wrong way too.

Would of been happy with a draw prior to the game though.
I was disappointed that we didn't win that but on reflection will take the draw. We rarely beat Cheltenham so it would have been nice to have done so last night. Just after Hannah missed the one on one their player missed a sitter from inside the 6 yard box. I also thought Amari Morgan Smith was lucky to still be on the pitch at the end. Harry Pell was their MOTM as he was when Eastleigh played us last season. Can't understand why Eastleigh binned him off.

Last night showed any of our fans who think that we can walk to the title that they are massively wrong. Last nights result was worse than any last season.

Lovely seeing Liam looking sharp and scoring a hat trick. After these ridiculous injuries he deserves a long term injury free season. Top bloke and with him and Rhead up front Lincoln will threaten the top end of the table no doubt about that.

Maynard played as a left winger?! Jesus.

Sounds like Tranmere are getting the job done in spite of Brabin rather than because of him.

It's still early days but you'd think it was something he'd have figured out in pre-season.

I thought it was because your right back couldnt head a ball, Maynard won everything in the air.

Would have preferred an actual wide player there though, hard to justify breaking up the excellent Harris/Jennings combo in the middle too.

We looked to have enough quality in that area to break Halifax down through the middle, which we did do 4 or 5 times.

Lincoln have got 2 hopes of threatening the top of the table, Bob Hope and no hope.
They start well every year, then fall away into mid table obscurity.
This is not an attempt to 'fish' any Lincoln fans either, just saying it as I see it.

That's fair enough, I suppose you must have realised that it's time that you dropped to a level more suitable to a club of your size and resources.

Don't want to end up having to start again as AFC FC Town of Halifax due to overstretching trying to compete with the big boys.

Not getting carried away at all.

Yes, while we are now great to watch.. IMO we haven't yet played a side who'll finish top 8/10, never mind a play off challenger. Also, the next two games are against teams who will probably finish lower mid table (Welling and Halifax, both at home). The big tests will probably be the two games after to see where we're at - Cheltenham A and Lincoln A.

And we also started with 9 points from 4 games last season and that went a bit tits up.. Looking back those 3 first wins in 4 games were against 3 sides that went down - Dartford, Nuneaton and Alfreton.

Many on the Fishy we're spunking themselves over the fact we'd beaten Barrow and Bromley 4-1, betting that we could easily win the title. I don't know particular people but fans were far too overconfident

Apparently there was an issue with ticket pricing last night.

As was rightly pointed out to me on here, we have had to reduce our ticket prices for away fans as we don't offer them a terrace. Away fans therefore sit in the away stand at the terrace price. Chester however managed to charge seating prices despite offering a terrace to home fans.

This has kicked up a bit of a stink on our forum, and I've seen Deva Chat has picked up on it as well.

Only £3 but it's principle people!!!

I'm unsure on the rules but if its not allowed I'm surprised no one else has picked up on it by now, you paid the same as everyone else in seats so I wouldn't feel too aggrieved. Would make little sense to me that you would pay less than home fans to be in the same stand purely because you are an away supporter.

Unfortunately its one of the lasting legacy's of Vaughan's reign that we have no away terrace, he put the seats behind the goal in order to charge away fans more.

I don't think those are the rules. Away fans shouldn't be charged more than home fans for the area they are in. It doesn't mean that they are charged the lowest priced ticket available in the stadium.

E.g. If there isn't a terrace available to away fans then you don't pay terrace prices to sit - you would pay the same as a home fan would in a similar or the same stand to sit.

I didn't go, so it doesn't bother me, however, our prices are £21 to sit for home fans and originally were the same for away fans. According to our chairman, we have been forced to reduce the price for away fans as we cannot offer them a terrace hence the stupid situation last Tuesday where some home and away fans were in the same stand but the home fans had paid £5 more.

I have now looked at the National League Rules and note that there is nothing in there about terrace and seating charges:
"The minimum charge for admission to all matches shall be determined from time to time by the Board. Admission charges, excluding home Club concessions as appropriate, must be the same for home and visiting supporters at Competition matches. Clubs may, with the written permission of the Board, have a maximum of three Competition Match Days each Playing Season during which they can vary admission charges for adults including allowing free admission."

I suspect our away prices will now be going back up to £21.

Sounds like your chairman has misunderstood. Away fans in that stand should pay the same as home fans in that stand.
