Would've definitely a taken 4 points from the first two games before Saturday. Injuries to Pilkington and Durrell (who was stretchered off) very worrying though.

In both games, been very good first half and then seemed to get leggy in the 2nd half.

Still, 6 from 6 without playing great. I'll take that.

Well, that was very comfortable. I was more worried Woking would injure someone than score towards the end. They did threaten occasionally, but more often than not they'd hoof it into touch under zero pressure.

The ref let a lot go - little pushes, tugs, minor cynical stuff really. Regarding the potential 'last-man' red card, I thought Dunn's heavy touch saved the Woking player, as it was unlikely he would have got to the ball. In the end, a yellow probably sufficed.

Hard to draw many conclusions from that test, but I'm made up for McEvely and Norburn getting on the scoresheet. Norburn looked excellent, running the game at times, and he looks to be a solid acquisition.

Next.

Didn't think it was that comfortable against Woking tbh and it certainly won't be now they've got a goal back. The visitors got a bit lucky with a last man foul only being deemed worth a yellow by the ever inconsistent Karl Evans
There is no last man thing anymore and hasn't been for 3(?) years. Maybe more.

3-1 win, threatened to make hard work of it after the formation change when they got a goal back but really was very comfortable. On that showing I'd be surprised to see Solihull stay up.

George Elokobi is fast becoming my favourite Orient player.

The last man incident was on the opposite side of the pitch, my initial thought was red card but perhaps didn't get the best view. Rovers deserved the win but looked like a side still getting to know each other, maybe a few more pre-season fixtures would have helped. Woking will have a better season than the last one on this showing.

It wasn't in the penalty area, which is where the amendment you refer to applies. Also, it's still a red card if deemed deliberate.

"When a denial of a goalscoring opportunity offence is committed by a defender in the penalty area, the penalty kick effectively restores the goalscoring opportunity so the punishment for the player should be less strong (e.g. a yellow card) than when the offence is committed outside the penalty area. However, when the offence is handball or clearly not a genuine attempt to play or challenge for the ball, the player will be sent off."

Solid win at Dover tonight. Defended well when we needed to and caught Dover napping at the back on the counter. Great play from Louis Dennis on both occasions.

That wasn't in the plan, we were supposed to lose 3-0....

Oh well at least we have another 3 days at the top. Seem to be a bit better going forward than last season but at the same time I think we'll concede more than last season.

A scrappy 0-0 at home to Halifax, I reckon, but I think we lack the options from the bench if we're struggling to break them down.

I couldn't have been more right. We were the better side and probably had the chances to nick it, but the game really wasn't helped by a referee who decided to give a foul every time a player hit the deck.
We've got some decent new players, but still missing a few options.

Haven't checked the Barrow forum, but expecting it'll be somewhere close to meltdown.

That was a good game in terrible weather conditions. A draw was probably a fair result with both teams having a number of chances. It's hard to tell after playing each once, but Hartlepool did seem to have better individual players than Wrexham who could cause more problems in an instant - particularly Donaldson and the two strikers.
4 points from the first two (very difficult) games is a great return for us but Pilkington and Durrell picking up bad injuries could really hurt us in the long run.

We should've been completely out of sight by the end, we had enough chances and hit the woodwork enough times. We tore them to pieces at times going forward.

You can see we're still very much a work in progress without the ball though, the communication and chemistry still isn't quite there - Which is why this season we need to be patient and accept that the odd mistake is going to happen with us.

Solihull were very abysmal though, dirty side as well, shouldn't of had 11 men on the pitch at the end as well, their number 7 should've been sent off along with the other 6 yellows they had for late tackles.

Apart from Darren Carter, they were awful. If Carter gets injured, they're well and truly screwed.

LOL. We completely dominated the game and some of the passing moves were excellent, as good as I have seen from a Rovers side for a long time. We have obviously benefited from the continuity of keeping last season's squad together and Norburn and McEverley look great acquisitions.

Lost at Eastleigh 1-0. Farewell unbeaten run

If Saturday is anything to go by, you're going to win a loooot of home games and lose a loooooooot of away games.

We drew 1-1 with a very good AFC Fylde team. Happy to have stopped a run of 8 consecutive home defeats. Hannah brought down when last man on goal near the end and ref bottled it a only booked him. Confident we can end our home win drought on Saturday against Halifax.

Still searching for our first win but I thought it was a decent enough game. Extremely rare to see Danny Rowe get subbed as well, just wasn't his night really. Onto Saturday we go

Thought Aki and White were excellent tonight and Hannah looked sharp when he came on, we've definitely got more firepower up front this season. Not sure he's your favourite RB but really like Dawson in that new position as well. Sprayed the ball around well, great vision.

Same as Saturday tore Boreham a new one first half should have been 3 or 4 goals the the good and spend he second half defending.

Unreal freekick from Corey for the second. Lots of room for improvement but plenty of time for that. Two wins from two is good a good start.

We were poor today against a very average Wrexham side.

Too much aimless hoofing, we need a more technical centre mid who can pick out our forwards. Tarpey feeding off scraps all night.

Wrexham caught us out twice from crosses. Pentney is weak in the air and needs to be protected better or we need a new keeper.

We weren't awful, but this league is more technical than the one below and there's no plan B beyond hoofing it. It will be a very long season without a couple of new players and a greater range of tactics.

I know Maidstone are our biggest rivals currently and I should probably slag them off (boo, hiss), but we only won because Nathan Ashmore kept us in it.

First half was pretty poor, but they had one really good chance with Ashmore saving Lewis' effort. Ashmore also made 1 or 2 really good saves in the second half before we scored. After we scored, we were only going to go on to win. They were the better side until this point.

Atmosphere was decent, and Maidstone even had some smokes.

Massive credit to Lee Worgan though. Took a fair bit of stick from us, but turned around to applaud us at full time along with the other two stands before going to the Maidstone support. Got a massive amount of respect for the guy.

I'll take a point at barrow although the game was absolutely dire. I don't see where the goals are coming from but I think we'll be hard to beat this season. Only chance we really had was when Connor Oliver hit the bar. Barrow probably deserved to win the match and they would've if it wasn't for our super stopper Sam Johnson. Onto Chester on Saturday which I will unfortunately miss because of bloody holidays :bang:

We played an excellent passing game first half without creating much in the way of clear cut chances. Second half we were absolute garbage. It seemed like our first half team went up the tunnel and got on the coach and a team of impostors came out for the second half. Absolutely bizarre. Couldn't string two passes together and resorted to hoofing it and repeatedly lost possession. Shit!

Solihull were very abysmal though

I'm just reading the messageboard and seeing comments about Solihull being better than League Two sides from last season. Someone's having a delusional episode, it's either me or them. I can't tell if people are massively underestimating the quality of the league, get the impression that a part time team is literally on par with Sunday League or just want to believe Orient played better than they did.

I'm still not fully convinced about us defensively, particularly down the flanks. I think Coulson doesn't look comfortable with the philosophy seeming quick to go direct although especially on Saturday I thought he did well defensively. I thought Lawless particularly was good in disrupting Solihull's rhythm but I still want to see the cm's providing a little bit more support offensively as I think we're very reliant on Caprice and Dayton combining, which they do well to be fair, to transition forward.

Biggest positive for me was our set plays, obviously we've scored twice from corners, but every single one looked dangerous.

Overall I think there are good signs, it all needs a bit more fine tuning really. Still think seventh is a realistic target and if we hit that then we've had a very good season.

Two breakaway Goals from Bromley and a couple of super saves from their keeper, although one was not recognised by the Ref, but fair play to Bromley took their chances, where we didn't , disappointed by the defeat, but not disheartened , as we will play a lot worse than that and win, where's Miller when you need him.
