Bromley looked decent at SB on Saturday too to be fair. Set piece delivery was really good and caused us problems defensively so I was happy to nick a scrappy 1-0.
Indeed former Imp Joe Anderson(part of the gawd awful side that got us relegated down here!) was superb and they had some inventive set pieces that caused us a few problems.
We've won 7 of our last 11 league games not sure how that compares to Tranmere mind?

The last league winners who really impressed me all season were Fleetwood. And even then they were behind us till after Christmas.

They were a good side, but the league as a whole was shite. That being said we were bang average, and were unlucky not to win at their place, and then only got done by a last minute winner at home.

You weren't all that great, but you somehow got 98 points. Even we did the double over you, with Dave Hockaday in charge! This years Lincoln side would wipe the floor with that Wrexham side.

Don't know if its still true after last night's games but I was suprised to hear on BT's highlights at the weekend that we have picked up more points than any other team in 2017

Shut up Cod..shouldn't you be on the fishy with your friends slating yet another manager until he leaves again. Vile fans
A fantastically worded response there to my audacious claims that Tranmere did indeed score 3 goals last night, with you cleverly switching from that to Grimsby's 'vile fans' which is obviously the most important and pressing issue that currently needs debating in a non league match thread.
So I congratulate you for bringing this to our attention you very unbiased Lincoln City fan who I notice coincidentally joined up here after Lincoln had got up to 2nd in the League and were on a roll.

Yeah that was pretty similar to us that season, we were poor and Only Liam Hearn carried us to mid table but we were winning at Fleetwood up to 75 mins before a shocking penalty decision and a Jamie Vardy injury time deflected goal won it for them.
Obviously for their points total they must have been good but they didn't show it against us.

That can't mean anything. Lincoln do NOT have any bandwagon jumpers/glory hunters amongst their support. FACT. They were all there when they were shit. They just couldn't make it to games all the time cos they had other important things to do.

I didn't say we were great. I said I was impressed with Fleetwood.

In general I do think there is less of a difference between the teams at the top and teams at the bottom than there was even a few years ago. Less whipping boys. But the teams at the top the last few seasons have been very inconsistent generally.

Congratulations for managing to mention the only season you ever did the double over us. Well played.

We had the bruisers like Creighton, Pogba and Danny Wright but with Obeng, Harris, Keates and Fowler we could play proper football too, so there's your difference. Can everyone stop mentioning our 98 POINT season please. We don't like to talk about it.

Best team ever (since 2008 when the Conference was formed) at this level is Crawley 2011 by about 10 million miles, they would go unbeaten all season in this current rabble of a league. Then either Fleetwood 2012 or Luton 2014. But as we know, the standard was getting worse every year. 2012-13 was the best all round exciting season I think, Mansfield, Kidderminster, Grimsby, Newport and us. All 5 teams would have been worthy of promotion. Teams used to win like 12 games in a row in this league and go unbeaten for 25-30 games.

Just done the maths, with 32 points in 2017 Aldershot would still be top, shortly followed by Lincoln (30) and Tranmere (29). Gateshead would also be in the play off places with 28, whilst the final spot would go to one of FGR, Dagenham and Guiseley, all on 27.

Down the bottom, and in the table by annum Southport are cut adrift with just the 10 points so far, with Chester down in 23rd (13 points), and the next 4 teams all on 14 points (Eastleigh, Boreham, Torquay and Bromley.

Interestingly, along with Guiseley being play off prospects on this table, York, Woking and Maidstone would all reside in no mans land, York and Maidstone being 7 points clear of the drop and 6 off the play offs on 21 points, whilst Woking have the reverse, sitting on 20.

I think that's a good illustration of the opportunity we have to put this away next week - home games against Chester (23rd in 2017) and Torquay (next place up in 2017), even Eastleigh on Saturday as well who have struggled despite their impressive earlier performance against us at SB.

Regardless of the title, isn't half some nonsense spewed about the league being "weaker" than last season.

We are a significantly better version of the team that was 2 pts off the playoffs last season.. hence instead we are in a title race. It's almost as if it's a contrived strategy to help retain the 2 up 2 down; which results in half of league two simply playing to not get relegated.

The fact North Ferriby went to Forest Green and won shows just how utterly terrible this league is. Past winners would despatch the current leaders with ease. Even Matt Rhead is just a poor man's Akinde.

Here's an article I've written on this exact subject:

By all accounts it sounds like they couldn't be arsed on Saturday v Dagenham and then it kicked off in the dressing room after. Not the first time they've done that in the last couple of months.

HURST OUT HURST OUT

BIGNOT OUT BIGNOT OUT

You'll never change. It's well known Grimsby players hate playing at home because the fans turn on the players/management.
Didn't anyone tell Bignot Grimsby should be winning League 2 in their first season back? Grimsby's rightful place is the CHAMPIONSHIP.
See you next season

Yes very interesting, now remind me what that has to do with my post about Tranmere please and what relevance it has to do with anything in this non league match thread?
If I were you I would spend more time enjoying Lincoln's successful season than worrying about Grimsby Town.
You have a massive chip on your shoulder for some reason which is unfortunate because all the other Lincoln fans on here seem decent and don't seem to have this pointless dislike of Grimsby Town that you have.

No one does moderate this forum. It's all gone down hill since Aberstone was forced to handover his Mod badge.

Quite a few Lincoln fans were debating whether cowley should go after losing to York.. I bet you were one of them.

You're the reason I hope Lincoln fail in the play offs, come on tranmere!

Kicked off is an understatement. They are in complete disarray. Anyone playing them should fill their boots.

Any rumours that the money man is off to Oxford to put some money in? Could it be about to go pop at Eastleigh?

To be fair if I was a Lincoln fan I'd be demanding Cowley out. 5,000 "glory" hunters suddenly turning up making turnstile, burger bar and toilet queues longer. Outrageous behaviour.

Look on your forum the day after York dicked you.
Now come on, we didn't dick anyone. We scraped past Lincoln by an odd goal over two legs. We had a game plan that we stuck to and it worked, but to say we "dicked" Lincoln is really risible.

That fact that it's Lincoln means you dicked them, trying to get a bite her man stop being serious -_-
