Well he got his goal and it was a crucial one as we were getting nervy. 40th of the season now, think he is 7 behind Rush now in his best season, would be remarkable if he could eclipse that.

PFA Player Of The Year! :)

Hope he wins some other stuff too before the season is out! :D

Klopp spoke about his achievement, but ended with this :

'Now please, grab the trophy and come home… we play on Tuesday!”

Very well deserved you have to say, but de Bruyne has to go down as the best player not to win it in ages. Gerrard was brilliant in 2008/09 with 16 goals and 9 assists in 31 appearances, but that's the only one I can think of.

Absolutely deserved. It says a lot about Salah's quality this season that by far the best player in the run away league winners didn't win it. The best debut season from any player I can ever think of in my lifetime.

If two people could get it, then it would obviously be De Bruyne and Salah, but I am fine with Salah winning it. It is more fitting since he won't be at Liverpool next season.

My mate at work said, last night, that this Liverpool side with Salah are a bigger one-man-team than the Liverpool side that featured Suarez.

He supports Brighton, by the way.

The case can be made certainly. But if we're talking solely the league, Suarez got 31 in 33, same as Salah (though, in Salah's case, two have been sub appearances).

They're both outstanding of course, but that 13/14 team completely fell apart when Suarez left (coupled with Sturridge injury nightmare beginning). I can't see us doing that should Salah leave. Furthermore, Suarez was pivotal in every aspect of our game from the build up, the pressing and the scoring. Salah isn't quite, especially defensively he has the least defensive responsibility in the whole side. Mané's somewhat diminished numbers this season has a lot to do with the fact that our side is loopsided defensively to accomodate Salah's advanced position.

All in all, neither are a one man team. That 13/14-side had Coutinho, Sterling, Gerrard and Sturridge all performing at an excellent level. But just looking at what would happen should Salah leave, I think it's clear the 13/14-side comes out on top in the one man team category.

Its Firmino that's the glue, we don't play him, Salah and Mane don't get so many chances. In saying that Mane does look to be back in top form again, and when he is playing at that level he is very creative indeed.

43 goals and counting.

1st player to score 2 goals and get 2 assists in a European semi final ever.

And the funny thing is, Firmino did it in the same game.

Had a quick look in the Mo Salah thread on Red Cafe. It's truly hilarious how badly some of them are dealing with Salah being this good, with shit loads of them calling us a one man team in particular. And one fucking numpty really made me laugh.

Would love to see what Mourinho could do with this lad.

My guess is sell him you daft cnut.

Yes, to think he got rid of Salah, De Bruyne and Lukaku while he was here :err:

What a fucking pillock.

His team just scored 5 goals in a CL semi final and he's on United's forum  We're always on their mind.

Sorry, I didn't mean to call you a numpty, that was rude.

It's a guilty pleasure, and a lovely one at that. When Liverpool are doing well, you want everything: long reads, forum discussion, youtube analysis, banter. But genuinely, one of the most enjoyable things you can do, is go onto your biggest rival forum and just revel in their misery. And you shouldn't laugh Nilsson, the forum of choice has several ongoing threads with hundreds and hundreds of pages discussing their rivals' forums such as BlueMoon and Rawk.

But to be fair and honest, I remember laughing at you for having those threads when you were going strong and we were shit because I had nothing else to laugh about.

I've never went on Red Cafe or RAWK tbh. Never felt the need to bother what either forum says . The bias towards or against the club I'm sure would be ghastly to peruse.

Are you suggesting that you're going strong and we are shit? If so, I think you should be reminded that we've been comfortably above you all season and have beaten you at home while you failed to do the same at your place. Also, we won 2 trophies last season, that's more than you've won in the last 10 years. I suggest you adopt some perceptive or risk looking like a fucking idiot.

Poor Nilsson. He's not dealing with this very well, is he? I'm not even sure what "this" is, but he appears to have a lot of anger about it.

I suggest you be more StevenCC or even Epic mate and stop taking things so seriously.

Not as predictable as you calling it predictable
Winning trophies is the end goal for all football clubs, and fair enough you won two last season and we won none. But at this level, there's two kinds of trophies: those that are the league title or the Champions league and those that are not. Both you, I and everyone we know would trade a league cup and an Europa league for a league title or a Champions league title. Those are the ones you count, the ones you know off the top of your head how many you've won, which years you won them, and (urgh) how long it's been since the last time you did.

As it stands, we have a realistic chance of winning one of these two trophies and you have not. Yes, Mourinho's record at just winning trophies is amazing (let's ignore it used to be the CL with Porto and now it's the lesser trophies with United) but he's doing so with, bar City and PSG I think, the most expensive squad ever assembled, full of players he's at best marginally improved with a wage bill that trumps ours by some distance. You're paying Alexis Sanchez more than we pay our two best players combined, and you can dump major signings like Di Maria like that while our transfer record was up until January less than £40m. And no, spending £70m on van Dijk in a window where we made a huge profit doesn't put us in the same category as you, even by a long shot. We haven't been playing in the same league financially for decades and so long as that stands, you celebrating being only just ahead of us in the table that was decided in October is nothing short of a failure on your part.

You're our benchmark and that's to your credit but fuck me, we shouldn't ever be yours. You're having an ok season all things combined, a good one if you win the FA Cup because a trophy is a trophy. But you would switch your current position with being three goals up in a CL-semi and third in the league in a heartbeat. As would everyone on the Caf. And it's incredibly enjoyable.

Liverpool fans aren't in any position to tell people what trophies "count" and what trophies "don't count" these days.

Like you said, you can afford to spend £70m on a CB. I don't think you're gonna get much sympathy for not being able to compete financially.

Pags is right Nilsson, you do take things too seriously. Enjoy your side (if you can) instead of bothering about what Liverpool are or aren't doing.
