So impressed with Burton defensively. Proper JFH team that, throw themselves in front of everything and a nightmare to break down. I’m a broken record, but Burton will go very far this season, they’ve still got that Jebbison to come in as well.

As much as I hate to say it, Afolayan is a very good player. Having said that, Bolton proved tonight why they‘ll be mid table at the end of the season and that’s their lack of a goalscorer at this level. Eoin Doyle as your first choice striker in L1 is not going to get you top six in 2021/22. Five years ago maybe, not now.

Hard not to be dissapointed tonight but that was a totally dominant performance in everything accept the one that matters a goal. The Lee goal beat the keeper before he even saw Doyle, but this team is growing and if we continue to play like that and strengthen in January we wont be far away. Not seen a bad performance at home this season, that in itself is a pleasure after the crap we have been through prior to FV

Burton will go far this season and we will finish halfway...............Take your rose tinted glasses off
I do agree with you that Doyle needs help. Bakayoko and Amaechi can/will improve us and we have Sheehan who can make that killer ball. Dapo is improving week on week and at the back when we have Santos and Johnson we rarely concede when those two play together.

Bolton were robbed, pure and simple. Since being down this league i’ve seen it so many times, we have suffered awful decisions as have teams against us since being in league one. We know the feeling of battering burton and failing to score but we got beat off them however we are top at present and looking the best i’ve seen us since being down here but it’s very early days in what i will think will be the hardest league one season in a while.
Home to Accy on sat will be a test, we have never beat them at the SOL drawing on both occasions 2-2 and 3-3 however we have beat them on their turf in all completed away games.

Head says 3-1 to us.

Also i can see Rotherham getting the best out of Will Grigg. When he signed for us i genuinely was excited but he never seemed arsed at our club, missed so many open goals and confidence was shot to bits but i just know he will score goals at a rival for promotion so watch this space, it would be typical Sunderland for Rotherham to pip us to autos or something and Grigg being the catalyst for it.

Bolton looked like they could have done with a certain Paul Mullin last night but from what Masi has told us you turned him down twice.

Just watched the sky coverage and you know you have been hard done by when all the talk after the match is about the referee, Unfortunately this will not be the last time we will see terrible and misguided refereeing decisions,3 home games in and already denied a penalty, and had a good goal disallowed for offside (Burton), had a handball/offside goal given against us (Oxford) and instead of an obvious free kick not given against costing us a goal (MK Dons. All the massive game changing decisions being incorrectly called,. We will see if the bad decisions even themselves out but they never seem to, do they.

We have only kept 1 clean sheet so far this season against Accrington. Defensive fraialties letting down decent play just like last season. I have no idea what stage Portsmouth are in their rebuild so I'll hope for a win but probably end up watching another score draw.
Looks like we're the polar opposite to you, very solid and tough to score against from goalkeeper through midfield but lacking imagination up front. Interesting match-up and I'll happily take a point.

It's possible that we may be trying out 3 at the back for the first time, with new loan signing Romeo joining Robertson and Raggett in the centre. This would mean Freeman and maybe Ogilvie in the wing back positions? It's clear that something needs to change, formation-wise as we're just not creating chances with 4-3-3 using our current personnel.

Off to Morecambe on Saturday. We've had a reasonable start as have they. I don't normally do long distance away matches but it coincides with the start of my tour of Scotland and I'm booked into a hotel in Lancaster on Friday night. It would be rude not to. Another ground ticked off.

I hope you enjoy.
You've sounded very impressive last few matches. I'm expecting to struggle against your lot. We beat Wednesday last time here but it was rather lucky and a not too impressive performance. I'm hoping the break (we had 3 players on international duty!!) will have energised us back to our cavalier best, though a break can sometimes work the other way.
Some good CAMRA pubs in Lancaster city centre if you're that way inclined?

Away at Charlton. As with most away games this season, I'm expecting nothing and hoping the lads can make me eat my words.

The Valley is one of those grounds I've always wanted to go to, alas it falls on my son's birthday this week and he doesn't like football.

First visit to Stadium MK for me tomorrow. Had a mixed bag of results there over the years. Our defence has only been breach once and hopefully the returning Bazunu in goal with his international exploits can keep that decent run of form going. Its going the other way we've been abit rubbish in the league. Not scored for just under 3 matches and not really made too many chances in those games , apart from a missed penalty up at Doncaster. Alot is going to be on the shoulders of 18 year old Arsenal lad Miguel Azeez to get creative for us

More than a challenging game against Rotherham tomorrow. Be good to see if Joe Garner starts the match, great signing for the club even at 33. All the talk at the moment is of the interest in young James Hill, a few premier clubs in for him, just hope we can get some serious money for him
A draw will be about the best we can hope for, 1-1

We've been tracking Hill for a while, could see us putting in a bid in January but might have dawdled too long.

I’m feeling unusually confident for Portsmouth at home. Their points tally look good but the opposition they gained them against really don’t.
I agree. We had a very helpful early fixture list so the jury is definitely still out on us. I'm confident though that the Cowleys have us on the right track, even if the summer transfer activity didn't go completely to plan. We do look much more solid these days. Don't expect a goalfest.

Dapo unplayable....Ipswich r/b Vincent Young Booked then got no where near Dapo as he made it 1-1
A few mins later Young fouls Dapo.... givesa penalty away should of been off....................Cook drags him off a minute later.
Replacement not fearing much better as made it 2 goals and a assist in 45 mins......

30m might be pushing it but no way he is playing for us next season if we aren’t in the championship. I still think promotion is a tough ask but we look very good. We need to tighten up at the back definitely

5-2 up away at the biggest spenders in the league. Am I dreaming? I still think Ipswich will come good either under cook or a different manager but this is crazy. Definitely the best time to play them.

I am claiming this as the result of the day ( well I would would'nt I ). A tremendous performance, particularly after going in at half time 2-1 down. Starting to get some good results going and not far off the play off places lol !! Be interested to hear from any Millers fans who went to the game and whether the score line flattered us ?

Excellent result against Cambridge and perhaps no surprise it coincided with close to our strongest XI being on the pitch, with Walsh still out and Maguire only on the bench.

I've only read comments across social media and forums but it sounded like we could have had more than five.

27 years I’ve been following Charlton.

I have just witnessed the worst ever performance in that time. I can’t even find the words to explain how disgusted I am by what I’ve just seen.

Low scoring game against MK Dons, as expected, and our second defeat on the bounce. We are looking like a top half team at best at the moment. Our lack of attacking threat will likely see us short of the play-off zone this season.

Couldn’t make the game today but just seen all the goals on sky and all of Lincoln’s goals were well taken especially scully’s(who dad played for us still lives local) so will be very pleased with that.

As for us, I think it’s important not to get to downbeat and trust bonner, in all fairness if there’s one thing we did very well last season and that was we always bounced back after a defeat.
Still surprised we didn’t do much more in the transfer market as for me we are pretty short on numbers and can’t put in performances like the Bolton game every week.

By far your best player against us the other week and looked a lot better than the game last season, absolutely no chance of you getting 30m though.

Delighted with our win today. Regardless of how Charlton played, it's a big win for us.

You were very good in the first half I thought. Cut us open a few times and should have had more than two.

Second half not so much, some of the time wasting was shameless. Everyone does it though.

As for us, some people need to have a serious look at themselves in the mirror in the morning. Never seen anything like it.
