30m might be pushing it but no way he is playing for us next season if we aren’t in the championship. I still think promotion is a tough ask but we look very good. We need to tighten up at the back definitely
of course 30m is too much but his he 70m behind Greelish?

I’m sure the last time Bolton went bust the new buyers paid less than £30m didn’t they?

We were terrible all over the park yesterday but take nothing away from Plymouth, they played well and absolutely deserved what they got.

The last time [once only] in its 150 year History
The new owners paid in the region of £26m which included The Stadium, Hotel, 30 acre state of the art training facilities. Office Space,2 1000 plus lounges and 25% off the unsecured Debt and 100% Football Debt.
They also paid Extra on parcels of land believed to be 2 of the car parks around the stadium.
The infrastructure was in place when they bought the club what was missing was the football side it was rank bad.
They invested in Evatt and his principles and cleared the club of ex players who ran the reserve and youth teams.
They brought a DOF in just before Evatt to work alongside him. That did not work ,so he went and Evatt has complete control on the football side of things.
They then invested in a performance Analyst who we poached from the Fa who alongside Evatt works on bringing players in.
Bolton have not paid a fee for a player for nearly 4 years.
Portsmouth seem to be going down the same route with the Cowleys. Ipswich and Wigan want to buy the league this may or may not work and will certainly need time before they are a team and not expensive individuals.

Your club was recently bought for £26m with all the wonderful add ons you so enthusiastically list, yet you think you have a single player worth £30m.

Thanks for making my point for me.

Well that was enjoyable on a nice sunny warm autumnal day. Good to see a sizeable away crowd. I liked the look of Bannon, though I suspect he is someone liable to do rash things and get sent off. The number 6 was also impressive. The keeper was a kamikaze, made a right pigs ear for the first goal and not too solid on the second.

That said we played very well and really could have got two more - Pan missed a hittable one early on and Hardie should have squared to Jephcott who had an open goal in the second half. Great save by Cooper using his face! Wing back Ryan Law scored his debut senior goal with his one and only touch right at the end. Probably the best we have played for a while - the defence were dominant. We have been that good or even better for 45 minutes, but not controlled the whole game like that for a while. I don’t think Wednesday played badly, for instance there were not to many unenforced errors, it was just we did not allow them too many opportunities (though Bannon probably should have scored with his head).

I know we won, which makes it sweeter, but that was a really enjoyable game to watch from both sides.

The 30m was a bit tongue in cheek, but what has a clubs overall cost to purchase have with selling a player three years later.
Doubt Brentfords owners paid anything like that to purchase them yet they have sold three players for a combined fee of over £50m

And yes there will be bids received from premier/championship clubs for him in the coming months, but where as our last owners got giddy at a £3m offer plus add ons for Rob Holding. And were happy enough to let Nat Phillips walk out the door for nothing, our present owners are serious business people and we will only sell at the right time/price.

Well if someone is valued around 30 million in league one, Anthony Scully must be at least double that with 9 goals already this season. :£

Excellent performance from Lincoln yesterday - that needs saying first.

We set up wrong, with two attacking wide players 'supporting' our full backs against Scully who is IMHO the best winger in this league. Someone at the club said to me that our management team had maybe got a bit 'over-confident', and they were dead right judging by that team selection...

Any plan went straight out of the window when we conceded after thirty seconds, but the set-up was wrong right from the start.

That said, Lincoln look to be a very good side indeed - loads of attacking threat, incisive on the break, and Bishop (I think) marked Hoolahan out of the game whilst still contributing going forward.

Positives - we kept going, heads didn't drop; we created quite a few decent chances and had spells of decent pressure; most importantly, the manager was totally open about our mistakes in his post-match interview, and I trust him to learn and adapt.

All-in-all, beaten by a better team, but I'm confident we will bounce back...

Comfortable win over Doncaster, was happy with our quick response after gifting them a goal. Second half was total domination, Doncaster's goalkeeper was their best player.

Given the injuries, new faces and very little time to gel, we haven’t played the same back 4 in consecutive matches it’s hardly surprising, the only surprising thing was Wigan’s in ability to score more than 2 even though the first was never a foul and yes we gifted that by not making the goalscorer and the second was offside but hey I know we are shite I’d worry more about how poor your own team looked

Lincoln were fantastic yesterday, a real welcome to League 1 game, best individual performance against I've seen against us for a very long time by Scully, thought he was gonna score everytime he touched the ball, game could have finished 3-9.

We're making an unwelcome habit of conceding goals down our right side. Williams has had some good games but does look susceptible to the long ball, he is getting next to no support from Tracey in front of him so hard to judge really, like everything the problem is probably a bit of both things. Off day for Hoolahan by his very high standards, and Smith provided no support for Ironside who was winning everything in the air yet again.

Still a good start for us overall, probably 2 points better off than I thought we would be. Tough one next week but a good little run of games after that on paper.

At least we have never dropped fpur divisions in less than ten years. Not baiting you at all. Just dont like Bolton or Evatt for the arrogance that now permeates your club. Horwich FC

I hope you enjoy.
You've sounded very impressive last few matches. I'm expecting to struggle against your lot. We beat Wednesday last time here but it was rather lucky and a not too impressive performance. I'm hoping the break (we had 3 players on international duty!!) will have energised us back to our cavalier best, though a break can sometimes work the other way.
Some good CAMRA pubs in Lancaster city centre if you're that way inclined?
No chance of drinking due to all the driving I had to do. Horrendous journey up from SW London then a drive from Morecambe to beyond the border. OH doesn't drive.

Anyway, I enjoyed my visit to Morecambe apart from the utterly foul cup of coffee at the ground. The stewards were very friendly and I was happy to take the three points. What an insane match.

Just got back from a weekend up in Scotland at TRNSMT festival, of course I missed Argyle’s best performance for a long time on Saturday. Great victory against a team that on paper at least, is far to good for L1. Ipswich are proving being good on paper means absolutely nothing though!
