Whitby Town enjoyed their win at Promotion rivals Nantwich Town so much that the radio team from the club’s own station, Whitby Town Radio forgot to bring the radio equipment home with them.

The kit which enables the station to bring live coverage of the Blues home and away fixtures was left at the Weaver Stadium on Saturday and is needed for tonight’s game at home to Stafford Rangers.

Struggling to find a way of getting it from Cheshire to North Yorkshire a plea was put out by the station’s lead commentator Andrew Snaith on the Northern Premier League fans facebook page.

Dabbers supporter Ian Garnett contacted his team’s sectary Carl Thorpe, who spoke to his counterpart at Stafford Rangers in Robbie Mullen and former Dabber Mat Bailey who is now turning out for the Boro.

Between them, they managed to arrange for Thorpe to met Jack Sherratt at the Little Chef just off the M6 at Junction 16 for him to take the vital equipment to Whitby with him on the coach.

This is why we love non League!

Sure is. Not as if there games are filmed by sky or bt and they need to negotiate broadcast rights. A team filming highlights is all publicity for flyde. Non league clubs should be makeing friends not enemies

It was posted on our forum when we played them at their old ground (I think by someone involved at our club) that it is at the request of Dave Challinor, who doesn't want to give opponents an edge by letting them see how they play, tactics they use etc.
Totally ignoring the fact that any club can send scouts.
