Morecambe.

We need to reinstate re-election to rid the football league of tinpot clubs like these. ;-)

Bet you Cambridge Utd fans are happy considering that anyone travelling up to the match would have been somewhere in the Midlands when it was called off.
I’ve not gone but lots have. As it’s such a long way up and it’s Easter weekend, lots left early this morning and we’re already there when it was called off.

There should be a rule where they have to call the game off as many hours beforehand as it takes to drive from one ground to the other. At least it gives some hope that loads of fans won’t get all the way there first.

They can play practically any games in my opinion after the Luton/Barnet game in the Conference in 13/14.

Or maybe the EFL can start looking at their fixture lists and try to find a game slightly more local than Morecambe vs. Cambridge and just keep travelling to a minimum on bank holidays in the first place!!

In fairness to many sides calling off late today it has been a weird last 8 odd hours.

Live in tameside area of manachester and last few days has been light rain at best, pretty dry most of day yesterday, i'd say games had no problem until about 6am this morning when suddenly was 5 odd hours straight heavy rain.........suddenly most are off.

At least they apologised for the tweet. No apology though for failing to get the game on in the first place. It’s galling for us as we got our game v Luton on a few weeks ago (one of only two in League 2 that made it that day) due to massive efforts from our ground staff. Morecambe covered a little path on he half way line. Tinpot fuckers.

Have another think about that...

If you're looking to cut costs, perhaps a load of Dr Oetkers might help.

Sutton couldn't appeal Jamie Collins' red card due to a technical issue with the FA's computer system

It is quite brazen of them now. At least pretend.

Doswell will be picking himself in goal tomorrow I reckon.

Ebbsfleet have refused to let our volunteers commentate tomorrow. We use the free Mixlr service which has become popular this season. Their only affiliation is with MTFC and local radio Silk FM. Fleet are hiding behind and excuse that BT and BBC won't let them do it. Strange how we've not had these problems before at any game this season.

From the Sutton forum....

"U’s will be without skipper Jamie Collins, who will have to serve a three match ban for his controversial red card against Bromley following the FA’s decision that, although a technical issue with their own computer system had prevented the officials’ report of the incident, which the club wanted to see, being available to the club until after the deadline for appeals, they would not accept the club’s appeal having been lodged after that deadline."

Ah well, at least we won't have to put up with any other hostility towards the club's media staff at our other big away game next week ... oh wait a minute..... :ffs:

I have it slightly wrong, looks like Alastair isn't allowed to broadcast for Silk FM, even though he has done for 41 other league games this far. Mixlr will still be live I think.

The head of the FA computer Systems department probably injured himself having a kick about on a 3G pitch.

Talk about covering your arse (and probably telling the odd lie) - lots of injuries, top scorer not fully fit, can't train, big up the opposition.

Win - we over came so many obstacles, proud of the players, I'm a genius.
Lose - everything is against us, we did our best. Difficult circumstances.

There's definitely at least 1 lie in there, 'Grimsby have hit form', 1 win in the last 21 games thanks to a dodgy pen that's some form!

Well, he didn't say what sort of form you are hitting
Just about all of the players listed as injured have been long-term injuries and neither Santos nor Akinola took any part in our win over FGR last weekend. Akinde was subbed on Saturday as part of Allen's park the bus strategy and also because he had been booked after a rather uncharacteristic outburst at the referee when he hadn't been given a foul.
This is a typical Martin Allen ploy, let's see if it works..

So Barnet play Grimsby on Saturday knowing that a win will leave them only 2 points behind us and this is Martin Allen's rallying call to their fans:

We are a strange club. Most clubs with a game of this importance would want as many fans there as possible. Not ours, they have refused requests to run any coaches, so a lot of fans will miss out. We also have NO Supporters Cub to arrange anything so I expect only about 150 there on Saturday. With our Chairman, we will get what we deserve
