Looking forward to seeing how Simon Weaver copes with the pressure of knowing he's got a job for life regardless of how shite he performs.

Can't wait for it, me. Always wanted to know what kind of inflection Simon puts on "But, daaa-AAAD!"

Anyone watch it last night? I missed it sadly, as much as I wanted to see how proper managers get on behind the scenes the thought of watching a privileged son pretending he has a grown up job was just too much for my gag reflex.
Maybe they asked him what it is like to have daddy sponsor his career and whether any other managers actually take him seriously?
Or what happens to the club when and if he does get a proper job and daddy cashes in his work experience bill and over spends every year against the future of the club.

I watched it, it was largely the John Still Show, featuring the ego of John Still and other John Still opinions. Him and Hakan whatshisname is look like an absolute joke setup at Maidstone. Still pretending he was the Director of Football yet giving the team talks and literally phoning down to the bench to tell the bloke to put a sub on

Craig 'David Brent' Hignett comes across as someone's embarrassing dad with delusions of grandeur in terms of how funny and talented he is. He was clearly very aware of the cameras being there during teamtalks, whereas all the other managers shown definitely had their 'game-head' on at that point and became oblivious to the cameras. Not hard to see that he is simply NOT a manager.

Neil Smith comes across as a man who runs the club and town of Bromley from top to bottom and they would fall to pieces if he ever left. Funny to see him begging JJ Hooper to stay.

Ben Strevens at Eastleigh looks like he knows what he's doing too, last season would suggest that too.

Still no explanation for Simon Weaver's eyebrows. Scientists have officially given up looking at what's going on there.

Wonderful summary Master D.
I am intrigued by seeing the Geezer Godfathers of greater London getting in a pickle at Maidstone.

| Notts County Football Club have just informed us that away tickets will be available until 1:15pm at their club shop or away ticket booth.

They’ve told us that they can only accept cash payments.

Has he only just noticed?

The players are still running out to an empty stadium, though we now have 100 or 125 supporters residing in the new home stand. Our support levels are frustrating the life out of me, as I get people on at me about us challenging the Wrexham’s, Notts County and Chesterfields of this world, who all get four or five thousand fans and peoples expectation of what there £99 brings is completely bonkers.

I'm amazed it's taken him so long to get this. Boreham Wood are historically a step 4 outfit who aren't big enough or from a large enough area to warrant being bankrolled. There are a few North London and Herts clubs who he could have made the same investment into and be enjoying 4 figure crowds every week now.

Good riddance. But didn’t he put a big statement out in the summer based along the lines of “nobody likes us, we don’t care”?

Most unpleasant and obnoxious club I’ve ever seen and he’s an absolute clown as well.

Nice to see that interview being posted in "Brexiteer English"; very subtle, but very on-message. "Rez de chaussée", as they say in the Dordogne...

What does he expect? He took over a club just North of London, with Arsenal, Spurs and Watford for competition. He also charges 16 year olds and students £20 per match to watch non league football. I hope they go bust.

Re-reading that Morning Wood article on a desktop and getting entertained by it all over again.

"Most of that was done on crowds that I could fit into my back garden but you would expect them by now to of really improved." What a sentence. Quite a neat little flex to say that 250 or so could fit into your back garden too, then again I guess it's all horse paddocks north of the town?

The bit about the Wood Army fleecing him into building them a proper home end to "get the place rocking" is comical too, but at least he's not spending that money on a Thai bride I presume. Funnier than his entire "MPs, do a Brexit now" post.

It is rather staggering they're getting 277 in the home end including various guests, players and dignitaries though. I think most teams we played in the Unibond North, like Prescot Cables, would easily do better if similar were invested. Especially sad given the Wembley thing which usually gives a booster to support. Not like Sutton bringing just 130 fans 30 miles is good either.

Someone on Twitter is saying their own matchday commentators, who are volunteers, have to pay as a media team to do their own unpaid work for the team they love! I don't wish them to go bump, but I do think it's a sign they should be winding it down now and funding B-Wood based on what actually comes in. And hopefully they do so in time for Saturday 12th October.

You lot are sick of Boreham Wood? We’ve been regular league opponents for the last 24 years. They’ve always been like this. They’ve always been poorly supported with a hint of scumines about them. (Ask Paddy the Kingstonian fan about how horrible Wood are as a club). At least we don’t have to go there twice a season anymore (in the early noughties Enfield also played at Boreham Wood. Two visits there a season is grim)

As for our numbers there, yes they were poor, but more than I expected. A few guys I know refuse to go to Wood for a myriad of reasons even though it’s our easiest journey of the season (if Thameslink is working). To put it into context we took more fans to Bohemians last season and about the same to Chesterfield for an early afternoon kickoff for a televised match.

The best new law this season is the one that states a player entering the VAR room is a straight red. The Premier League’s VAR room is in Stockley Park, 13 miles from the nearest PL ground. Any player making it there during a game to moan about a decision deserves a medal.

We’ve just had a game abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch in the middle of an August heatwave. :bg:

Intended to reply to this earlier, but yeah if you've been putting up with the Morning Wood saga for an entire generation then that alone makes you deserving of a football league place. One can only imagine the terrible tales that accrue over that time...

Can't even imagine the sort of team who'd see them as a big fixture, as I don't think Elstree even has a local club?

London Conley would see Boringwood as a big game!

Acccording to Liam Davis the Hive is a strange kind of place with an unnatural mouth drying breeze. Something about train tracks above the pitch maybe adding to this as well. (about 2 mins 20 secs)

I'll take that. That's one of the milder criticisms we've had about THL.

There are a few of our supporters who think that the Hive is a freezing inhospitable wind tunnel.
I’m not sure those criticisms hold when the match was played at 32C!
