Yeah, exactly what I was thinking. Say if you go up, are they going to restrict to Bradford to 1200 tickets? What about all the Prem, Championship and L2 clubs that are coming to matches in West Yorkshire this season? It's absolute bollocks, we get shat on time and time again by the police, by kick off times moving, by games being made all ticket when they don't need to be...as someone further up said, this is Grimsby Town, not Galatasary. This is one of our three matches this season that clocks in at under 4 hours for the round trip.

The policing for our game at your place the other week was like a military operation. Been Grimsby a few times before, even that one where you stayed up and we blew promotion, and that was an exponential increase in the number of police from what I’ve seen there before.

Annoyingly I think our game with you is probably going to be Friday night or Sunday, but that will be a crowd probably 3 or 4x your game at Halifax, with a basically unlimited away following, and it’ll pass without any real incident because, to be fair to them, Notts police largely know what they’re doing with football. It’s really not that hard.

Yeah, Humberside Police are a joke too when it comes to football crowds. You'll seldom hear me defending them. Sounds like they messed up badly for you lot this season, even by their standards.

Splitting hairs here, but I reckon the total crowd for our visit to The Shay would have been up around the 5/6,000 mark so probably more like 2/3x that crowd for our trip to you later on. But you're right, Notts Police seem to be one of the more switched on. The optimist in me is holding out for the Forest match to be moved to Sunday on Sky so that we can keep the 3pm Saturday kickoffs. Sunday would be preferable for me over Friday night. Friday night and I probably won't be making the trip.

The stupid thing about the Halifax v Grimsby game is that home fans will still have to collect their tickets from the stadium as we're still operating in 1985 where printing tickets at home or scanning codes is pure fantasy. If you dont live in Halifax or don't know someone else that can pick up for you then its pure ballache and likely to put some home fans off too.

After the game with us some of their yobs decided that attacking a teenager (14) at the game with his dad would be a good idea. Broke his jaw.
Makes a change from Wrexham fans attacking one of their own fans at Wrexham train station I suppose.

According to Twitter a ticketing issue meant Wrexham accusing home fans of trespass.

Looks like they succeeded kicking most out at around the 83rd minute for some reason....

Its your own fault for travelling with a bunch of idiots. You are one of the worst teams for fan violence in professional football so what do you expect?

Well ignoring the ridiculous sensationalism there and answering the question alone, I expect the festive double headers in this division that are specifically picked to increase crowds and revenue and to allow fans easier trips when trains aren't running to not have restricted away followings.

Aha so that’s the reason your stewards made our female supporters show them their bras and not for any sexually perverted reason, cheers for clearing that up.

Yeah thats bad. Not going to argue with that. But irrespective of that you cant disagree with the fact that you have s lot of hooligans latching on to you. I was at Burton in 2010 so I know this for a fact

But you can’t judge a whole fan base on that one game.

And when you look at the sort of numbers that we take to away games the percentage of those that are idiots is very small, but as with any team that takes big numbers away regularly (relatively speaking) there will always be a few idiots in amongst them.

We’re playing Dover Boxing Day and New Years and Southend have Bromley for the same fixtures, who made these baffling festive fixture decisions. My guess is that the Met didn’t want us and West Ham at home Boxing Day.
