As you have probably experienced yourself after reading that (excellent) review of the Fenty era, it's no coincidence things took a turn for the better as soon as they pissed off.
Fair play for reading all that, it's a beefy commitment. Good read though!

The next tinpot club to raise through the leagues and leave brothers behind are on there way. Early warning to us all, got 5 season before they reach this league and pass us. Sorry Wrexham, think that is too quick for you guys to get out of here.

At the risk of being called a boomer by one of the Wrexham fans, are we supposed to know who Peter McLasso is?

Peter McCormack is a British cryptocurrency investor, cryptocurrency proponent, podcaster, and former digital marketer. As a podcaster, McCormack hosts two podcasts – What Bitcoin Did and Defiance.

Apparently. I'm sure Bedford FC is a club that you could really turn into a sustainable force and this isn't a nonsense pipedream at all.

Bedford FC aren’t even the biggest club on their street (the distance between them and Bedford Town is closer than even Dundee United and Dundee) and they play in a county league. I would be shocked if they go far.

It's always funny how these people never talk about ground improvements in their "grand plans". You can buy the best team of 10th tier players and get promoted all you like, but if you can't improve the ground to meet ground grading then you're just wasting everyone's time. And good luck taking fans away from Bedford Town directly next door, let alone everyone else.

When will these people learn, honestly?

I think this is my "favourite" Tweet in the thread. We have so much leverage. Yeah, until those Bitcoin bots don't give a damn about 10th-tier English football and madcap pipe dreams.

Id never heard of Streatham Rovers before until the other day but then took a deep dive into the twitter account. Turns out its a spoof team, but it's very very funny. Worth taking the time to.go through some of the tweets.

I guess he would need a little bit more cash than sleeping giants Wrexham required. He'll have to buy some land, get planning permission and build a ground for a start.

Based on the fun and enjoyment the likes of ourselves, Grimsby, Luton,....etc have had with that little exercise, I'm pleased to see he's such a Can-Do guy.

Itll be interesting to see what happens. I'm not sure the Bitcoim community is large enough to fund a football club with ambitions to reach the football league once the initial interest wanes. particularly as there is no existing infrastructure, or actually fanbase, to start with (which we have). Then again they are currently top of their league anyway amd it doesn't take much money to give yourself a huge advantage at that level so they should get one promotion at least.

I suppose we are utilising the power of celebrity and social media to drive revenue so using Bitcoin isn't so outlandish.

Who does the victim surcharge get paid to? Divided up equally between the countless thousands of tv viewers?

Their very very close neighbours, Bedford Town FC, are top of the Southern Division 1 Central. (Level 8 Step 4).

I often drive past and they have a proper non-league ground (top in the picture below)

Bedford FC sit 4th in the even lower Spartan South Midlands League. (Level 10 Step 6). They play on the bottom ground in the picture below.

There's non-league and there's non-league.

They play in the same league as Kidlington Reserves and there's another club in the borough with better facilities and support at a higher level - Kempston Rovers.

And looking at that aerial photo also just exposes how utterly impossible it would be for this guy to meaningfully improve the ground if the club were to go on the upward trajectory he expects. And the fact that both clubs are based so far out-of-town suggests that getting land in Bedford itself for a new ground would be very tricky too.

Not as though they'll get that far, though, not once the initial hype wears off and the bitcoin lovers move on to something more immediately lucrative for them.

Perhaps he'll move the team to nearby Milton Keynes - there isn't a team there
