Not sure if this counts as tinpot, but it's certainly unusual.

During pre-season friendly at Bishops Cleeve last month, we allowed a man filming a documentary to be part of our matchday squad, going under the pseudonym Richie Yingn. He actually came on for the last 5-10 minutes, looking slightly out of place playing in a team of full time pros, to say the least.

The documentary is being made by someone called Philip Whiteley, with some details on the talenthouse website:

Breaking Yingn
ONE MAN. ONE SPORT. ONE GOAL. ZERO PERCENT CHANCE OF SUCCESS. 100 PERCENT BELIEF IN HIMSELF. ONE YEAR TO PROVE EVERYONE WRONG. The idea I'm pitching is for a mini documentary that I hope will inspire an audience to get behind something much bigger. It will focus on someone, a real person, who intends to use sport as a way to reach an audience no-one else can. Under the pseudonym of Richie Yingn, one man is prepared to have the whole world watch as he attempts to take on the ultimate sporting challenge and prove himself against the professionals, as well as compete at the very highest level. What makes him qualified for this? Nothing really. He's currently unemployed, overweight, unfit, and on the top of that he suffers from an OCD, which prevents him from shaking people's hands. He also has braces and there's some doubt over how old he is. Other than that, these things only go to prove that he's human just like anyone else, so what's there really to stop him trying and embarking on something great. If he has the belief and the commitment, is there any reason to doubt he wont make it. His fate now lies in the audience. If a tree falls in a forest and no-one is around to see it, does it make a sound? For one year Richie is going to give it everything, but the question is will people be there at the end to watch. Like Miley Cyrus famously said, “If you believe in yourself, anything is possible.” It might take a miracle but no matter how far he gets, I'm certain the journey will be well worth watching. And if he can do it, anyone can.
I'm guessing that both the FGR fans in attendance that day did not even notice that he was not a regular player?

The fact that he was even bigger then Jon Parkin gave it away slightly.

I knew Rick Waller's career had taken a nosedive since X Factor but didn't realise he'd dropped that low.......

So Millwall still have a McDonalds World Cup 94 board inside of the ground, on the wall between the lower and upper tier. Proper big one, facing the pitch.

Crawley have seemingly banned a number of supporters for voicing their opinion on a club forum. Properly tinpot and properly Crawley.

They could at least ensure that their letter was written in a grammatically correct manner - why the comma after tolerate? Also, it's "the board has", not "the board have."

Bracknell played a very early pre-season friendly against Hayes & Yeading U23 at a council 3G pitch. One of the Hayes & Yeading players (a trialist) came along with his fully suited agent.

Why on earth would Guiseley segregate their match against Chorley? It's not like Chorley are a big club or anything...

I'm not sure if this can be considered tinpot or just a WUM Watford fan who works (or used to work) as a teacher in Luton.

Barnfield staff furious over cash spent on Luton Town Football Club sponsorship

MEMBERS of staff at a college have hit out against the decision to sponsor Luton Town FC's new kit at the same time as a restructure which could see many of them lose their jobs.

Several allegations have been set out in a letter signed by a number of current and former staff at Barnfield College, in light of the sponsorship - including one that staff are being asked to train their own replacements.

Barnfield is currently undergoing a restructure, which will include job losses.

The letter says: 'The people of Luton and the staff at Barnfield are appalled at the sponsorship deal with LTFC. No-one has ever heard of an educational establishment sponsoring a football team, let alone a failing one.

'And members of staff are sick with worry and stress. They have families to care for and mortgages to pay but still come to work smiling and helping people who walk through the door but are shown no loyalty.'

Other allegations include the replacement of experienced staff, who were made redundant, with either inexperienced or underqualified staff.

The college is currently going through a restructure following an Ofsted report in January, deeming it inadequate.

A spokeswoman for Barnfield College said: "The college is developing a quality focused senior leadership team with a high level skill set to achieve the ambitions for Luton's students.

"Interim senior staff have a key role to lead the quality and standards the college aspires to in areas where there are gaps in the existing structure. They are responsible for shaping the process to springboard the college out of the grade four status and deliver curriculum and study programmes to exceed local expectations.

"Our strategy is to have responsible financial stability in-line with national 24 per cent cuts from central government funding. Department handovers are always part of a re-structure and the value is not to be undermined. Job losses are a consequence of any restructure."

Barnfield College has previously defended its sponsorship of Luton Town by saying it came out of the marketing budget.
