I remember a few years ago when we had a female ref here and she really was truly awful, did not have a bloody clue what she was doing, Amy somebody i think.
Rob Scott was going mental pretty much all game and had a right rant after it too, the game in question we beat Bath City 6 - 0.
God help her if we had lost!

Amy Fearn. she has reffed ours a few times and she seems ok

Generally she was decent though, most of the games I've seen her ref have been under good control with the players showing good respect and there generally being less dissent.

There is a shortage of referees as it is, so seeing more women feeling able to take up refereeing without the threat of abuse could help that.

Also it would be good to see more ethnic minority and disabled officials. Both are very under represented. It should be a game for everyone.

I'm fairly sure we've all had referees that were both blind and deaf

You sound like a politician on the eve of an election trying to win votes.

Tbf I'm pretty sure they're actually a clean side, it's just that useless refs keep dishing out bookings for nothing. Some refs have it in for certain teams...

Top blokes, the lot of them....

I think, but I am not certain, she is Amy Rayner (sp?) the famous first female referee at conference level and first female assistant referee in the league, with Fearn being a married name.

If that is correct then I have seen her have good and bad games like any ref, I guess people tend to remember the bad (as is most often the case) and remember her for it as being a female referee makes her distinctive.

The only referee I've ever remembered for being good was Jarnail Singh.

Under the new name at least she reffed our game at Barwell in the FA Cup (2-2 draw). I don't recall her standing out as good or bad, just grateful that she played enough stoppage time for us to equalise and get the replay. No referee in the replay could have given us enough stoppage time to make our first round proper debut since reforming.

There's a female ref named Sarah (not sure on the surname) who is despised by Gloucester City fans. They were absolutely slating her a couple of weeks ago after giving a late penalty. I should point out that they all, to a man, said it was nothing to do with her sex but purely the fact she was incompetent.

I do agree though Jemfy, Jarnail is the best ref I've ever seen. Used to love when he reffed at Whaddon Road.

Jarnail is a legend, not only is he a great ref., he is a really nice bloke too. We had him loads of times in the FL because he was local and developed a good rapport with him. One of my matchday jobs used to be looking after the officials and he is great fun. He's an assessor now so we don't see him much, but he does come down occasionally, shame he had to pack in reffing early.

White footballers are massively under represented in the Premier League compared to the general population - would be good to see more of them too.

There is a valid reason why we don't let you record the game and its been explained many a time, I just can't remember what it is!

As for the Guiseley radio thing - I'm sure your radio team said themselves that they didn't travel down and didn't bother asking?

What a joke Dover are, it just smacks of, "It's my ball and you're not allowed to play with it".

Lincoln still haven't released the highlights from when we beat them...

Dover wouldn't let Bromley show any highlights either when we beat them 3-2 at their place at Christmas time.
