Can't be long now until someone unnecessarily starts the "how's your team shaping up for next season" and "predict the league" threads?

Really looking forward to seeing a host of new grounds in the coming months (and probably years).

There's really strong rumours of a new owner for us (most likely CEO of Dunkin dOnuts), so I would predict a consolidatory, mid-table first season for us, followed by pushing for promotion in 2019 assuming we get our act together.

I look forward to all the chat this forum has to offer for the 2017/18 season.

It's not so bad down here. Some great little grounds, new away days, some unexpectedly great sets of fans, and some good craic. It's just a bugger to get out of, and the refs are inexplicably bad!

2 proper clubs coming down then, this is not good for you know what. The clubs who hovered above the League Two drop are all historical tinpotters who'll hopefully come back down to their rightful place in the next couple of seasons.

Bet Torquay are well chuffed with that.

Gateshead finally have a decent Xmas/NY double header, which saves Barrow from trekking all the way over there again!

Weren't Newport a league team between 1920-1989? How long do clubs have to be non-league to become historical tinpotters? Are Wrexham nearly there yet?

Won't be long before League 2 is more tinpot than the conference.

The current Newport isn't the same club. The old one was relegated in 1988 and went bust. The current Newport was formed in 1989.

As expected, we are in here for next season (although official confirmation came a lot later than expected)

Even if you accept the current team as a continuation of the old club they were out of the league for 25 years. We are some way off that yet.

And they went up off the back of lottery winners money. Incredibly tinpot

Yes they were, so if that Newport ever comes back they'll have my blessing to be back in their rightful position in the Football League.

So is it really as bad as everyone makes out?

I actually quite like it down here mate decent supporters who don't just support a club cos a celeb does or cos the In crowd support them . You lot will get kicked a bit but it's only what we would do if we played a big boy in the cup so you come ta accept it. The quicker you embrace it the better it is what it is, think about it as division 3 rather then non league as that's practically what it is and there is an escape route if you get it right just ask bristol rovers.

Finally you will be on tv at least 4 times live and have a decent highlights show every weekend so it's not all doom and gloom it's about the clubs mindset and if I know most o's and pool supporters they will support their teams wherever they play.

Just dust yourselves down and go again next August..... enjoy it

And how do you class a club as tinpot? As far as im concerned if a club invest in good playing squad and stadium they aint tinpot

Christ. If FGR do manage to do Tranmere at Wembley then our Christmas fixtures would be, at a rough guess, Aldershot?! Bloody hell.

EDIT: Forgot Eastleigh. Which isn't much better...

Well , I'm looking forward at least to Gateshead away , I'll put my park at Heworth and walk in theory to the test .....Barrow and Flyde have to be a must , as is Halifax and Guiseley , after that it all looks a bit southy to me ...... Chester and Wrexham a bit westy ! .... reading our message boards , no one seems to be jacking in , so I think the crowds will stay above 3000 for the home games and 500+ away fans for the north/ midland games ..... if you've not been to Hartlepool , once here ( train service is hopeless ) it's a good day , everything is right next to each other , you can't go hungry or thirsty ....

The average is close to 4000 this season, it would be immense if we could maintain that level of support down here next season. Over to the club now....
