At least there were two exceptional teams in the Southern League that season as Bath City got 99 points IIRC. In the Northern Premier League, it was Gateshead who ended up getting promoted despite finishing almost 30 points behind Colne Dynamoes.

Ah, Colne Dynamoes! Who remembers the original vanity project? They were allowed to steamroller their way through the leagues by fielding a squad of full time players against teams playing for beer money, despite having no ground to speak of. A complete farce and utterly pointless. When it hit the buffers, the owner was last heard of running away under a hail of death threats and bidding to buy Burnley AFC for £50,000. :£:£:£:£

CALLING ALL ALDERSHOT FANS.

What are the chances of your lads opening the terrace behind the goal for the 500 or so Wrexham fans descending on Aldershot this Saturday? The corner seems a bit cramped when there's 200 of us, never mind over double that.

Yet we've beat you once already this season so surely that mean's we're the best. In the world. Ever.
Macclesfield beating us is a tradition. The season can be considered invalid if it doesn't happen.

They only open it for Woking's annual INVASION.

I'd be more worried if the analysis guy on our staff was banned from the stand and forced to be on the touchline. This news today will only AID the transfer of crucial information more quickly. Well done Welsh FA.

Hartlepool fans better look out for the gaffer when they take on Macclesfield a week on Saturday. He'll be lurking in the stands, getting a good look at how to RUIN Whitaker's game.

He can just attend the special presentation we'll have rolled out for him. I'm lead to believe it'll be Whitaker's 900th appearance for Macclesfield.

He has also already been awarded the first goal of the game.

Maidstone Borough Council have agreed to give the club the freehold to a strip of land adjacent to the ground, which will allow us to develop the River and Town ends. Some good news in a crappy week.

I think the word is sell rather than give. There may be a clawback clause in case we ever build luxury flats on their 3 metre strip of land. But freehold is better than their original plan for a 99 year lease.

Is 500 not more than double 200?

Try it out.

What's taller, 2x200m floodlights stacked on top of each other or 1x500m floodlight?

Seeing as we're steamrolling our way out of League 2 I thought I'd come find out if anything has changed down here over the last 2 1/2 years. Is that Chester fan still around? Does everyone still hate Woking? Are Tranmere fans the equivalent of Bristol Rovers?

Fill me on any new experiences I can expect next season.

We are still 100/1 to win the league, yet if we win on Tuesday night, we are one point off the top. Stranger things have happened.

As if this season hasn't already been an unmitigated disaster there are strong rumblings and an apparent official announcement tomorrow regarding our current financial situation, I'm lead to believe its not going to be good news.

Merry Christmas.

Yes that Chester fan is still around and seeing as you'll be a regular on here next season have a Happy Christmas. Why would anyone hate Woking and Tranmere are much more relaxed about being down here than the Gasheads were.

Pools up for sale is reported in the papers but the official line is we need 'investment opportunities' due to the 'legacy' of financial issues over time. Apparently, it's been affecting our results of recent. Last year the players weren't paid on time on a couple of occasions and we had winding up orders.

https://www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk/...garding-ownership-and-investment-opportunity/

We have debts of 1.8 million racked up by that bastard Coxall last season. Can you really see anyone taking that on? Will there be a professional Hartlepool United in the future? Seriously feeling very low right now. Kiss the FL goodbye, it's now likely a battle for our existence.
