Meanwhile Mitch Hancox is going to avoid the inevitable abuse of a packed Kop by signing for Salford.
Thank fuck we got out this year, that looks awful.
What does that have to do with any southern bias? Fylde, Salford, Harrogate, Gateshead... all up here because of “bankrolling”. Even Barrow spunked a bunch of money trying to get promoted a year or two ago. Not sure geography has anything to do with it.At a rough estimate, I would say that ten of next season's clubs are seriously bankrolled, hence the southern bias.
Depressing.
Fair enough. However, the concentration of clubs in London and the south east and the absence of clubs in the midlands and around the urban centres in the north surely is to do with money. What does that have to do with any southern bias? Well some people obviously need it explaining......STOP PRESS
MORE MONEY IN THE LONDON REGION THAN OTHER PARTS OF THE UK
Well some people obviously need it explaining......
I was highlighting the number of bankrolled clubs at this level, rather than those that are self-sustaining.
Plenty of longer lie ins for me next season at least. Only 4 new grounds next season for me:
Barrow (Only game I missed last season), Salford, Havant & Harrogate.
Been Braintree before so know what to expect.
Went to Lithuania v England instead. There were no Dounts there either. Boo.Was that because there isn't a branch of Dunkin' Donuts in Barra?
Which makes it all the more remarkable that Braintree are back at this level. Literally cannot believe Leyton Orient v Braintree is a league fixture next season, if it falls on a Saturday I may well attend it.

*raises hand*How many clubs are self sustaining? I'd be surprised if there even 5 clubs at this level who make a profit year on year.
Unfortunately it has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch
The Dover Chairman is concerned about the impact on cash flow.Unfortunately it has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch
You’ll sign Jay Harris and Andy Mangan.Sam Wedgbury has gone for nothing.
I'm on the verge of finding a new club to support.
May suprise you all to know we have had only one postponed match in the last 2 seasons after we spent 40k on new drainage in 2016. Agreed we HAD a reputation in the past for postponements, but happily those days are gone so comments now about our pitch are really only for those who haven't kept upto date. Now you all know !haha yes i forgot about that..... 10 home games for braintree next april
Postponed in August due to the pitch drying out too much and a sinkhole forming? In August.
Some clubs are clearly more self-sustaining than others. How many clubs are self sustaining? I'd be surprised if there even 5 clubs at this level who make a profit year on year.
Us too.*raises hand*
They had a Hooters thoughWent to Lithuania v England instead. There were no Dounts there either. Boo.
Grounds might be a strong word down here mate. Sheds and back gardens int it?14 new grounds for me..a small positive. Going to be a bumpy ride
Haha I think we are in for a shock at a few of them looking on footballgroundguide.Grounds might be a strong word down here mate. Sheds and back gardens int it?
Those teams on the map show a congested south east and a very disparate north with 120 miles or more separating the two units, 144 if you discount Solihoof. No derbies or traditional rivalries for a single northern side. Those of us who aren't in the mix are going to get bored stiff.
14 cockney teams. 16 if you include Redbridge/Waterlooville. Can see a few of them taking a tumble next season though with the skew of it, although the geographical distribution of quality players might balance it out again as Shepherd's Bridscombe & Kentingdon Athletic Sports Club FC and AFC Yawncester & Bilgeham Albion both come up from the South in 2019. Very unattractive league this coming season.
