I don't really think Ferrier has done much wrong. He wanted a move to a bigger club in a higher league, fair enough, will happen hundreds of times at all levels.

Didn’t Boreham Wood say that he’d sent them a threatening email about a contract breach or something?

The Agent named in that BW statement is also Sean Raggett's. He tried to stop, sorry, 'advise' Sean from playing for us at the start of last season and effectively go on strike to push through his move to Norwich.

Raggett basically told him not to be so stupid and kept on playing.

Former Chester and Wrexham defender Blaine Hudson has scored the winner tonight for the New Saints against Lincoln Red Imps in the Europa League.

Looking for a bit of help with a predictions league I'm joining next season. Only rule is you have to pick a team and a goalscorer for that team

Total points + total goals = total score

With my limited knowledge I'm stuck between Orient (Bonne) Barnet (Coulthirst) and Fylde (Rowe)

Some insight from non league fans would be really helpful :)

Dave Tarpey likely to score far more for Barnet than Coulthirst.

Salford (Rooney) your best bet.

Will Bonne still be an Orient player before the season is finished? Probably not.

Coulthirst's highest goal scoring season has been 10.

Rowe is currently earning a mint at Fylde, doesn't ever look like leaving and scoring for fun, easy pick for me.

If we're in play off contention, which I think is likely, Bonne won't be sold. It's probably safe to have him as our top scorer as he will be our main striker and I'd fancy him to finish in the top five goalscorers. We're pretty dependent on him; Harrold and Mooney have both lost their legs, Alabi is a gamble, although Koroma could potentially fit in, he's mainly played as an attacking midfielder in his career, looked hot at the end of last season and has been on it pre season, but it would be very brave to rely on him. As such, Bonne's probably worth more to us than his market value. He'll leave at the end of the season when his contracts up, but I don't see the current board willing to compromise a promotion push unless someone like Peterborough lose their minds and make a stupid bid, which could happen.

I agree with #Beebot though, Rooney is probably the best bet and I'd back Tarpey over Coulithirst.

Any other season and I’d put my house on Rowe being in the top 3 scorers but after salford have signed genuine football league forwards and tarpey being back I’d leave Rowe out this season. Personally I’d back tarpey. Was top scorer in this division until he left, banged 4 past us and it was the best performance I’ve seen from any opposition player. I guess it depends on how much his bad injury will effect him

Interested to know what (if) other teams have started the Conference National season shorter than Salford's current odds.. (9/4 best price, 2/1 in most places)

Crawley and Fleetwood must have been on some pretty short odds in their league winning seasons. We certainly weren't on such short odds at the start of 04/05 and 14/15!
Still, I have my doubts. Salford's manager has never managed at this level and judging from his time at Scunthorpe he was pretty cautious tactically. Additionally, he seems to have signed some high profile marquee players but has the squad been strengthened in all positions? Salford weren't that convincing in winning the National League North.

Agreed. 2/1 is ridiculous odds for a team and manager’s first year at this level. They could win it, but it won’t be easy. They’ll come unstuck at places like Solihull and Maidstone I think, it’s like a National League initiation. I’ve also questioned whether the rest of their squad is any good. A striker is only as good as his service. So many strikers as well, good luck keeping them all happy.

That's why I have my doubts why Salford will run away with this league. They will be every team's cup final and every team will want to put one over big-spending Salford. Sure, they will roll some teams over but I think they will struggle against others when they are up against it and I'm still not convinced they have straightened defensively.

Still tipping them to finish in the play-offs. My money is on Orient to win the league this season.

I see quite a few people tipping us on here to win it. I don't think we'll be competing for the top couple of places. I think we are more likely to finished 4th-6th personally.

We have pretty much exactly the same squad as last year, except we have lost Adams to Ebbsfleet who was our best midfielder the second half of the season and replaced him with Dale Gorman. I haven't seen what Gorman is like, but even if he's jsut as good as Adams, I still feel we are a decent midfielder short.

We certainly improved after we brought in Edinburgh, but I still don't feel we are good enough for top spot.

We have been taken over by Dr Ranjan Varghese and a local bloke called Michael Williams is taking over operations.

Never heard of either of them and Dr Ranjan doesn’t have much information about him online apart from he has something to do with shipbuilding and is CEO of a Hong Kong registered company called Steel Ships Ltd.

No idea how this is going to go...

Agree with this. We’re exceptionally strong out wide, solid in defence and Macaulay Bonne is one of the top three strikers in the division, but the squad lacks players in the prime of their career and we’re absolute shite in the middle of the park. I’d settle for 7th unless Alabi turns into an unexpected goal machine.

Believe it or not at the start of the season Crawley were 8/1. I remember because we were 10/1 second favourites behind Luton, then suddenly a couple of days before the season started we were down to third favourites behind Crawley too.

Barnet at home is a decent enough fixture to kick off with, hope I'll still think that come 4.45pm.

Not a great example when he refers to us.

The squad that won the NL wasn't the one that won the Checkatrade and reached the PO's. The Club's who don't change their squads quick enough end up fighting relegation and in the bottom third.

Although I think the number of automatic promotion spots from the National League to League 2 should be increased, this article is not a good advocacy of it.
You're totally right that clubs promoted to League 2 have to drastically overhaul their squads to be competitive in that league. Just look at last season with FGR, who were out of their depth until Mark Cooper did a lot of transfer business in the mid-season transfer window.

Now, however, the division is full of ambitious, well-structured sides such as Boreham Wood, Dover and Sutton eager to ascend to League Two

Well, Boreham Wood want to get to the league but it's the last thing the other 2 sides want to happen.

We also gained 98 points not 95 in 11-12, he should know that seeing as it's all we ever talk about.

Oh god

Hearing rumblings on our forum that Joseph Cala who tried to buy Morecambe and Portsmouth is the reason that the deal fell through the first time and after doing a bit of research it turns out our new CEO Michael Williams and Mr Cala have bought a club before in Italy and it did not end well with him demanding 100,000 euros to leave

http://twohundredpercent.net/morecambe-questions-answers/

I’m starting to get a bad feeling about this...

Reliable information about the man is scarce, but he seems to be a slightly deluded daydreamer who has ambitions of creating an undersea resort complete with the biggest casino and spa in the world

Yeah....

With a couple of exceptions, there seems to be a bit of a north/south divide developing in the table this season.

Bottom ten (10) teams in Conference all southern.

Just shows how poor they are.

On one hand, it seems that Boreham Wood are playing hardball over the sell on clause (25% seems a reasonable offer to me) and if the fee is low that is their fault for not negotiating a higher one when they signed him. Also its pretty unprofessional (and unfair) to name drop Tranmere and AFC Wimbledon when they could have referred to them as 'an unnamed league 1/2 club). Also, Boreham Wood hold all other clubs in this league to ransom over highlights and commentary, so they dont have any moral high ground in that aspect.

On the other hand, this does seem to be a new agent promising Ferrier the world, getting him on board, and then playing hardball with Boreham Wood. Personally I don't think agents are necessary at this level and are a nuisance to most clubs, and is something that I wouldnt miss from the game.

Whatever happens in the end, I dont think anyone wins from this.

Too bloody true ~~~~ leeches the lot of them!
