Interesting twist, Jed McCrory has denied he's buying us. He did this by searching out one of our fans on Facebook after they mentioned him on Twitter, sent him a couple of private messages claiming it's all bollocks.

An English non-league team (Sutton) playing an Irish team (Bohemians) in the Scottish Challenge Cup. No-one can argue Scottish Football isn't tinpot after that.

Plus I just saw this from the QFs last year:

"The Bohemians-East Fife match was originally due to take place on 17 November 2018 but was rearranged as the Irish football season had finished. It was rearranged to be played on 2 February 2019 but was called off due to a frozen pitch at 14:53, seven minutes before kick-off. Following discussions with the SPFL in an attempt to rearrange the fixture again, Bohemians withdrew from the competition and East Fife advanced to the semi-finals."

What strikes me in this cup competition. Its like the organisers thought.
Bill: "hmmm what can we do to make our cup better"
Bob: "I know let's make English Non league clubs who probably can't afford it - travel hundreds of miles for a game they probably don't want"
Bill:"Sounds great, anything else"
Bob:"yeah! Make Irish teams go even further"
Bill:"Let's get it sorted, anything that'd make it more appealing"
Bob:"Do you think we could make them play midweek?"
Bill:"Hmmmmmm"

The club and fans enjoyed our involvement in the cup. The travel costs were covered by the sponsors.

The travel allowance barely covered costs, in fact didn’t Dos and others at the club say the Irn Cup cost us money?

It was fun though going to Glasgow (for Airdree) and Dublin. Bohemians away was one of the best games I saw last season and it was great to see so many Sutton fans there. Glad we’re not doing it this season though

Do you get a cut of any of that? Or just a fee to hire the ground?

We've had a few at hours (Elton John, Tom Jones and a Little Mix,/Tinie Tempah etc style gig) and somehow didnt make a lot of money out of any of them despite them being sell outs

Actually I've no idea, last I heard the ground's owned by the council. Of the acts, I can say that Paul Heaton and Blossoms both have soft spots for County so there must've been something in it. Besides, there must be a little compensation for not having any home friendlies this summer (which I don't mind, bloody sick of playing rubbish like Preston U23s)

Anyway, as far as quality of the concerts are concerned, I heard that the gigs on Thursday and Friday nights were good, and Saturday night's alright

Finally some news about our new owners. It's Scott Priestnall and Errol Pope who own Worcester Warriors RFC. That explains the Jed McCrory link but no mention of him in today's statement from the club.

So first signing confirmed to be Chris Holroyd, comments please from Wrexham fans. Personally quite pleased he has the experience we need at this level.

He's a good pro but I think his legs are going which is bad because his work rate was one of his best attributes. Decent enough signing but he isn't a goalscorer.

I'm not too upset with the signing of holroyd. Got the experience that we need and hopefully can help some of the younger lads adapt. Still think we need another striker preferably one who can score consistently and we also need backup at full back and centre half.

Confirmation that Jed McCrory is not involved in our takeover. One of the new owners will give a statement today outlining their plans for the club.

If used correctly he's a good player. Decent enough finisher.

This was brought up on our forum from the video they put out but the similarities between him and the duo that took over and nearly destroyed us were striking, I'm sure you've got your own detectives on the case but someone pulled together the following, the guy has..

Multiple entries on Companies house.
Involved with lots of dissolved companies.
Connections to sports agents.
Connections to asset strippers.
Mates with Jed McCrory.

How has the news gone down?

That's very worrying. The general reaction from our fans has been positive, he's made the right noises since being unveiled last week but i'm cautious as he hasn't actually put his money (if he has any) where his mouth is yet. I think most of our fans are just relieved to finally be rid of the idiots who have run our club for the last 25 years. The grass isn't always greener though...

You might of gotten lucky and got someone who’s in it for the right reasons but like you say just because it’s a fresh start doesn’t mean it’s better, question everything they do and don’t be swayed.
