Really doesn't fill me with joy. I've got a mate in Weymouth so hopefully we are allowed to travel down for that one but not a lot else appeals bar the Notts/Stockport games which are usually decent days out.

Glad Altrincham came up though, never been there for football before but like the town.

Sounds like Dover are in serious trouble. This from Thomas Feaheny on twitter:

‘Dover Athletic make the 14 players they have for next season available for free transfer & say if a solution or further investment isn't found by the end of the month 'it's likely the Directors will consider the club insolvent & as a consequence will be forced to cease trading'

Chairman Jim Parmenter has released the following statement.

The Board have been busy assessing the clubs financial position and immediate future due to the very difficult circumstances of the COVID 19 pandemic.

The club is still unsure of its income in the coming season but the Board are clear income will greatly reduced.

The club has 14 players under contract for next season and at a meeting last week the clubs position was explained in detail to the players and staff.

At that meeting the players and staff were asked to accept a 20% short-term reduction in salary to assist the club in its efforts to stay solvent and keep the club alive bearing in mind the club will move from four to three days training.

The management have accepted the proposal, however, unfortunately the players have not agreed.

Therefore it is with great regret that I must announce that all of the squad are now available for free transfer as an initial immediate step.

I must further inform supporters that if a solution or further investment cannot be found by the end of August it is likely that the Directors will consider the club insolvent and as a consequence will be forced to cease trading.

The directors are doing everything they can to keep the club afloat, but have reached an impasse and require the support of our playing squad.

Season ticket purchases are fully protected and a full refund will be issued if the worse happens, so supporters can continue to purchase in confidence.

Sounds like they are trying to force the players into accepting the wage cut. It doesn’t add up that if everybody took a 20 per cent pay cut that they would be fine but because they haven’t they could go bust in less than a month.

Dover chairman does this every year without fail anyway, I remember when there was a serious danger of them getting promoted and he threatened to pull the plug then too as they couldn't afford to go up. Then they always appoint Hessenthaler and end up ok.

It's the new Macclesfield when they never used to have a squad about 27 minutes before the opening day kick-off and then suddenly end up with loads of good players out of nowhere.

No money has come in since March they even stopped the 'striker' lottery & now furlough money has reduced

If he'd asked them to defer their 20% rather than cut, then I suspect the players will have been more receptive to it.

Hopefully we don’t get burnt for the 2nd, no 3rd or is it 4th time by new owners.
