We sold 500 of the 800 Bromley gave us yesterday. Expecting the majority, if not all, to go today. If we don't sell out today then we will tomorrow as they go on sale to 1878 members who aren't ST holders. Hopefully Bromley will see some sense and give us more after that.

Aldershot have just put ours on sale today for the opening day. Not the most attractive trip and not exactly close either but think we will still take 6/700 maybe given the circumstances

Know loads going that wouldn't normally, partially because of the COVID break but also because of the optimism under the new ownership and manager. Think you're right in saying we will take more than we have in the past so hopefully somewhere between 6-800.

I know that loads of times people waffle on about going in the home ends and usually hardly any actually do but for this one if they don’t give us more tickets I think there will be a lot of our fans in the Bromley home end especially with how many London exiles we have who won’t be able to get tickets as they will probably all be snapped up by the end of today as you say.

It really is ridiculous. They're saying policing costs is the reason apparently. They've probably gone and created a bigger policing/security issue. Will be interesting to see how they go about potentially throwing out hundreds of Town fans if we all get together in the same area of the ground.

Woking have sold 188 of their 400 allocation provided as of this morning. Southend are also being priced at £15 for adults, £10 for concessions and £5 for under-18's with an announcement on allocation likely to be made over the next couple of days.

For the Chesterfield lot on here, any ideas on how many seats we'll be given for the game on the 28th?

Away end holds about 2000, might give you an extra 800 if you sell that ;)

I had it in my head that you only offered those 800 to those who weren't expected to sell out that full allocation - believe me, we won't be. It's hard to gauge away support at the minute (echoing what Jerry has said recently) as I suspect in a normal season there would be 400+ there, now it wouldn't surprise me if that's halved.

We used to stick away fans in the corner of the East stand and have the north closed but for the PSF friendlies we've been opening up the North stand for away followings despite them all being sub 200. I'd be suprised if you aren't behind the goal in the North.
It'll be a decent gate I suspect for the game with it being our first home game of the season, bank holiday and general positivity around the club. We should be pulling in close to 5k in my opinion.

We're potentially getting another 300 for King's Lynn.

Last time it was this busy there the Hanseatic league was still going

Whoooosh! Get you and your historical references, feel free to have a wander round town in the morning when you visit https://www.visitwestnorfolk.com/places/kings-lynn/history-of-kings-lynn/hanseatic-kings-lynn/

In all seriousness, I am not sure how they are allocating another 300, in my mind the easiest option would be to extend the away end to include the whole of the area behind one of the goals (current away allocation is a corner - part end / part side). Given that we may well end up with similar issues with a few other away teams this season (Notts County / Grimsby / possibly Chesterfield) it wouldn't seem unreasonable to have a contingency in place particularly as it looks unlikely that this fixture will be a sell out for home fans.

I am probably driving up now, is Tesco’s the best place to park and also, very new to us, what’s a decent away fan friendly pub?

I think Tesco is 3 hours only or something? So if you're just coming for the game it's OK but if you want a few drinks and that you might want to park in Donkey Derby or Casa car parks, I think it's a fiver for the day? You won't have a problem in either of those, especially Donkey I see away fans in there all the time and it's about 30 steps from the ground.

When do you think tickets will go on sale for this one.

I’d stick Crown & Anchor / Chesters in your sat nav on Sheffield road. There’s ample free parking behind their (old brick works lane). I always park there, 5 min walk to ground and you’ll pass about 4 pubs on way. Chesters is very nice if you want some food. You won’t be allowed in Crown and Anchor pub but Donkey Derby, Glassworks, Lockkeeper and the rest you’ll be fine in

What’s the script with Grimsby. Are they any good, literally nobody has tipped them to be challenging

We'll probably get a playoff spot. That's where pretty much everyone has tipped us to finish and where we should be budget wise. We'll be solid, well organised and hard working but won't be pulling up any trees in the entertainment department. We still need another striker though. We were already lacking in that number 9 slot and LJL and Taylor are both currently injured, so we're looking a bit toothless right now.

Donkey Derby always good for a pre game pint and even a bite to eat no matter who you support. Plenty of friendly Spireites in there if I do say so myself (bet you can’t guess where I drink pre game!??)

I expect it will be very busy though with that being our first home game of the season so I’d advise getting down nice and early if you do plan to head there. The pub also has a free car park so that’s another plus point..

I think they’ll get promoted. They have a top manager at this level and you don’t need to be an amazing side to win this league anymore.

something for the Dover haters

We can confirm that due to two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in manager Andy Hessenthaler’s squad, the entire group of players and management are now self-isolating for a period of 10 days in accordance with National League protocols and Public Health England guidelines.

We now await confirmation regarding next Saturday’s opening National League game of the season against Solihull Moors at Crabble.

Would love that to be true but 5 extra years hasn’t made Hurst any less cautious. Think we’ll be battling for the final couple PO places myself, unless we pull off a couple of big signings.

Stockport County.
Why are all Dover players and management all isolating after 2 cases?

This is the rule:

If a player tests positive on a team there is not a need for the
other players to self-isolate (or a game to be postponed),
unless they were in close contact, have been contacted by
Test and Trace, they have developed symptoms or tested
positive themselves.

From Monday, you don't have to self isolate if you come into contact and you have been double vaccinated anyway.

The league(s) need to be more clear on what the rules are going to be this season. 2 positive cases should not be calling a match off.

Indeed. We’ve had a case this pre-season with Rodrigues - he had to isolate, we’d done what we were supposed to with everyone else and they all tested negative.

If everyone ends up in isolation after a case or two, clubs aren’t following the guidelines properly.

You are forgetting that Hessenthaler and the entire Dover squad indulge in big orgies with each other every single day.

Its the only possible reason why they are all isolating.
