Ur welcome RiftHouseLad:

Won't be far away Solihull, Southend my dark horse if they can get a decent start, last year's was dreadful. I think the National League is getting stronger it's now more or less like the old League Division 4 from many years ago.

I think we have the manager for the job, play-offs are well within our grasp like every season but it's most likely a safe position this time round.

Absolutely no chance of reaching that level especially in my life time, no ground, no money and we would need substantial backing from investors who are fully committed in running the club. It'll be a long time I'm afraid to say. I feel sorry for all the 'young uns' that have never witnessed a Darlo/Poolie local derby.

I will always have my memories of Feethams and Victoria Park back in the 80s and 90s! Great games!
Epic games, hope someone comes with financial clout to help.
it happened with Stockport so you never know.
All the best for the season.
your dead right about the NatLge, the money going round is crazy.

Very passionate games from a fan's perspective, thanks, me too would take a lot of weight of our shoulders with a bit of financial help.
I know jesus Stockport must be very wealthy.
Indeed, likewise all the best for the season.
Exactly, it's a very expensive league at least you guys got out of it that's the main thing.

Altrincham at 100-1 might be a good each way bet as they have gone professional for the first time this season. I remember back in 1997/98, Halifax Town were being listed at 66-1 pre-season because they had only just avoided the drop the season before. Thing was they had drawn at home to the champions Macclesfield Town and beaten 3rd placed Stevenage Borough at home in their last two games and I remember thinking I wouldn't be surprised if they won the Conference, as it was then, the followings season. They did.

I would be surprised if we made the play offs, we still need to sign about 5 or 6 more players yet !
But Parky will have us competitive again and playing the game the right way, pleny of goals usually. We have lost a lot of our best players who did so well coming up thro the leagues now we have gone fulltime but retained some key players as well.

We did amazingly competing as proper part time last 2 years,... but its very hard to predict how a lot of the smaller clubs will do compared with the big ex lge clubs with 4 or 5 times our limited budget, I doubt there will be more than 2 part time clubs next season, Stones and ? not sure who else?

See they’ve brought forward the end to the season this time. Should be good for the playoff teams to allow them a bit more time whoever goes up.

Good luck to yourselves next season though. Hopefully Scunny can sort out the off field issues first then the rest can take care of itself. Will be cheering on York for JA.

Our opening game v Yeovil live on BT, couldn’t care less about the result if it keeps people in the pub and not paying at the gate it’s all good.

We got out at the right time, With a big chunck of luck.
A lot of grafters in the side at the time.

We would struggle now, The money going round is plain stupid
And some club/s are going to suffer, Steady away is best, And if
Things click you just don,t know.

Do you not worry about coming back down with Radged though?

I can't believe some of the teams in the National League now...Wrexham, Notts County, Scunthorpe, Oldham, Chesterfield, Southend, York, Aldershot, Halifax, and so on, wow.

Anyone coming down from league 2 is in danger of never being a league club again.

The National League is just a Football League Division in disguise.

On a par with the old Division 3 & 4 from many years ago.

Relegation is always a worry no matter who's in charge at the top, I'm not one of the Raj super fans that we have but he's probably been the most stable hand in charge since Uncle Ken and IOR packed it in, which says more about our previous owners than him himself.

We hit a streak of luck and got out at the right time, that playoff winning team would've been decimated and we'd be what Torquay turned into, losing their best every season and bumbling around in mid table.

The jump from Regional to National for me looks a much bigger jump than National to League these days.

Absolutely, the gap now looks like a chasm.

I wouldn't go as far as saying on a par with the old division 3 although some of the names spent extended times at that level or higher. Back in the day, there was usually a noticeably large jump between division 4 and division 3...IMO of course.

No your absolutely right without straight-thinking I slightly overstated the old division 3 and should have just said division 4 :gmc:

Hi. Can someone help me? I am trying to find how old Dorking's boss Marc White is because I want to create a post about the youngest managers in the National League for my Instagram page. Thank you.

As Chief says,We rode our luck at times in the POffs.
But we had a really hard working team with great camaraderie.
We now have a squad who work even harder by all accounts and the team spirt seems to be spot on.

You don,t have to have the most talented team, But every player has to fight for each other.

Any Wealdstone fans know what happened to Kinsella? Saw on their twitter he was having an x-ray today?

See for Oldham their takeover now officially gone through. Congrats to any Oldham fans for finally being rid of Lengasam and hopefully can get back to where you should be.

See Crazy Cov got himself sent off for serious foul play today. Decent enough keeper but he is a ticking timebomb that lad, he just can't help himself and at this point in his career I'm not sure that will ever change. There's a reason we let him go with no other sub keeper on the books.

Just seen it. The guys nuts! He’s a lovely bloke off the pitch and all that but he just has these mind farts.

What’s that including his red against Chesterfield in a friendly that’s 4 reds in about 25 games!

Where's Barnet's stand gone from behind the goal? And what one earth was that Dagenham camera angle all about?!

Nice to return back to the National League with a 2-0 win. Certainly wasn't expecting it after the pre season and influx of around 16 new players.

Somehow everything seemed to click and Askey appears to have drilled formation and tactics into the players all week in training which is nice to see as too many times in the past after a game you question what the hell the team have been doing all week in training.

Unsure if it was because Woking had an off day but expected a bit more from them.

Not getting too carried away as there are some tougher teams to play but hopefully it's a sign of things to come. Still reckon we will finish midtable 10th-14th.

We have got planning permission to build a new stand but for some unknown reason work didn’t start when it should have done.

Did you need a new one? I'm assuming it's going to house office, academy etc or something?

Probably for a similar reason to our delayed stand re-build - building costs have gone through the roof and there's a backlog of work.
