Happy to take a point from that in the end, which we was very worthy of as we was guilty of missing some very good chances and not being clinical enough - Similar to last season.

Salford caused us problems though, Gaffney, Rooney and Lloyd in particular are going to get goals this season no doubt about it, we rode our luck once or twice.

Their goal I thought was well worked from midfield and finished off by Gaffney - Something which I don't think I will see from most sides at this level.

We got at their backline though, will be interesting to see how quickly they go out and buy a load of defenders if they leak a few goals, because when James Brophy and James Dayton came for us they caused them alot of problems.

I see someone mentioned the slope in their pitch - Its a steep one alright, you don't notice it until you're there.

Very good result IMO for Chesterfield that, did not expect them to win at Ebbsfleet who were very good last season.

I said at the time Wrexham fans will learn to love Fondop. Works hard, holds the ball up well, and even got some pace and skill for his size. He'll become a fan favourite very quickly like he did with us

It was a good game and a decent standard for this level. Expect both of you to be top 7 on that showing. Salford do look uncertain at the back but haven't they still got some of their defence from the level below? Surprisingly haven't binned them off yet but may do soon if things don't go their way.

Liam Hogan is very established at this level. And Pierganni won their player of the season last time around. Suprised Pond isn't playing over Hogan though admittedly

Excellent second half from us, once the subs came on it was one way traffic.

Can't believe we didn't score but will take the point. Some of our new players look decent. Harrison, Walker and Robson plus Sparkes delivers a mean ball.

Sad to see Tarpey not fit enough to make bench.

Thought we should have scored a couple in the first half, but we didn't get near the Chesterfield net in the second half. No complaints about the penalty either, thought the ref had a fairly decent game.

Cracking support from Chesterfield. Shame some of our fans are absolute cocks.

A very good game at Crabble, where Wrexham beat Dover for the first time since our return to this league 5 seasons back, absolutely ruined but some blantant errors by the Ref, Last season these two clubs had the best defensive records , and from this game they both could again, Wrexham's goal , a bit of fortune , or Wrexham fans will say Skill , but the Wrexham forward handballed the ball out of play but Rock gave a corner, from which Wrexham eventually scored from, the cross being dirverted in, Dover pushed on , in a game which was dominated by both defences, with either keeper having little to do Dover got a penalty for what we could not tell ,but no Wrexham players protested about it , but we did witness the worst taken penalty of the season,
The Second half saw lots of possession and neat football from Wrexham ,but this was comfortable for the Dover defence even some long substained periods from Wrexham, they never really looked like scoring again , this led to Dover being restricted to few efforts, Dover did equalise but the refereed deemed it to be a foul when the Wrexham defender backed in to his keeper thus dropping the ball at the feet of Jamie Allen to score, but the standard of referring dropped to s new low when Rock disallaowed that goal
you could make it up, and the twat would not even consult his lino, this is the second game in a row that Rock has missed a hand ball that has led to a goal against us,
OK I know we cant really judge anything after just one game, and having seem us play Wrexham 9 times in the last 5 seasons, this was by far their best performance but there did show a gap between full time and part time on the field, Although there was some very good passing it was on a superb pitch , where later in the season not so sure that will work out, having said that , this Wrexham side did have a bit extra about them ,
Well done to Wrexham on there win at Crabble today, its been a long time coming

A few things from my visit to Moor Lane today.

-Firstly their bar wasn't open

-They ran out of programmes 20mins after our fans started to arrive - Claiming they were only expecting around 100 away fans (idiots)

-The food hut was small and apparently ran out of food.

-Finally, we took 667 away fans, who all had to share the below 5 plastic portacabins for toilets with no running water (obviously) .

Adam Rooneys monthly salary could be invested into some decent toilets for visiting fans.

God knows how they will cope when Chesterfield and Wrexham come to town, who will take double what we did.

Nathan Clarke scored a bullet header from a corner to make it 0-2 to the shaymen down in Essex. We really are the England of the national league. Very good from corners.
I'm pleased we released Nathan Clarke, our defence looked much better today without him.......... :eyes:

lols. It would take about 30 seconds research of looking at last seasons away attendances to work out 100 isn't ever going to happen.

What are the rules on toilets and running water at football grounds? Can't recall hearing that before. I can remember Boreham Wood not having soap or hand drying facilities, but they at least had water.

Just saw the Grimsby game, some of that defending would embarrass this league, so stay where you are please.

The most amazing thing about the game was the revelation that Danny Collins is still out there playing professional football. I thought he'd retired from scoring imbecilic own goals about 8 years ago.

Most embarrassing thing about it is that FGR could easily have scored 3 or 4 more but their fnishing was terrible first half.
I saw a few shocking games last year under Slade but today topped the lot, woeful at the back and created nothing up front.

Massive difference between the Orient of the opening day last season and today. They looked much more like an NL side.

Even had the same player kicking the ball out of play twice in 5 minutes, when looking for a team mate!

This seems to be a common theme with these hobby clubs. We had much the same experience when we visited Eastleigh in 14/15.

Agree about that, definitely game of 2 halves. You missed a good chance first half, we created a couple second half. Thought we just edged it but you look a decent side to me.

Thought your fans we met were great, what have they done?

Looks excellent that. We will sell out the 1600 in my opinion so looks like that’ll be fun when we’ve all broken the seal!!

Not too disappointed to have lost that, think you'll be up there come April. Not concerned whatsoever.

The majority of us are fine! When you get idiots singing about Tommy Robinson, claiming nobody likes us and directing personal abuse towards the away keeper (and some home players!) Then it gets a bit sour. Ruined what was a fairly decent atmosphere, but can certainly see there being a bit of a divide soon.

I’ll be honest I barely heard your lot from where we were stood. I’m guessing the noise wouldn’t have travelled well from our side either but thought it was a decent atmosphere

Eastleigh have since built some very suitable ones! Warmest place in the ground when we played them last March!

It’s going to be a very long season for us if we do not get a replacement for Cheek. His goals would’ve been the difference to us staying up and going down. Lots of 0-0 and 1-0 games coming up for points but a few heavy defeats when we do lose.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Hi all, Nor exactly a newbie, have followed this site for years; thought it about time I had an input.
Blisteringly hot afternoon at the Rec, which had a big influence on the game. Shots started well,in usual "tiki-taki" fashion, too and fro, with little penetration. Barnet cautious, but soon learnt that there was little to fear, and the second half turned into a siege. Shots could have lost 4-0, and on play deserved to be beaten. Poor finishing and inspired defending =0-0.
Barnet predictable Still team, big blokes and dead-ball specialists (Sparkes excellent delivery a constant menace).
Barnet should be thereabouts come April, pragmatic, money splashed on big squad, but dull to watch.
Shots need time and work, and match experience. Pretty puny young squad, may over-achieve by team spirit, but I'm not holding my breath

Imagine they'll cope just as Aldershot do when it comes to toilets, who provide even less portacabins than that.

Are you joking. The goal from Fondop was the goal of the day, season and possibly decade.

goal of the day i'm sure but if he tried that 100 times 99 times it won't go in - my definition of a fluke :)
