Salford certainly look like they can be got at. Gaffney has been a much more effective performer than Rooney has for Salford.

Josh Coulson man of the match. U wot m8? Danny Lloyd was by far and away the best player on the pitch. I'll take the draw, happily. Ebbsfleet on Tuesday is another toughie.

Here we go then, our first XI of the season...

Looks a solid enough side, hopefully we come away with something but under no illusions of how difficult this first game is!

Surprised no Binnom-Williams included in the squad

A lot of tinpottery going on today with plenty of sides naming only 4 subs.

Edit: Ignore. It was the BBC updating their lineups at a snail's pace.

Biggest thing I've noticed so far is the reffing has been much improved, despite the opinion of my fellow supporters.

Our one man phone call commentary team suggesting the penner was harsh and that we've been the better side.

Aldershot have had plenty of possession but we've been more dangerous. Should be ahead.

The shaymen lead 1-0 away at Braintree with a header from striker Jonathan Edwards from a Ben Tomlinson corner. Soccer Saturday has it down as Ben Harrison scoring for us. Anyone know who the fuck he is? Doesn’t play for us or Braintree.

I'd say it was a soft one, but one I've seen given before. Think it evens out a little though because of the penno shout that got waved away (but noticed) when De Haivalland got his shirt pulled. I'm not certain but I think the reason that wasn't given was because whilst the whistle had been blown, the corner hadn't been taken, so the ball technically wasn't in play.

Nathan Clarke scored a bullet header from a corner to make it 0-2 to the shaymen down in Essex. We really are the England of the national league. Very good from corners.

Would have taken a draw but to win at Dover is a great start.
